Any time I used the microwave, the breaker would trip. Other circuits in my unit were also tripping, and according to management and other residents, this is a common issue throughout the complex. When maintenance arrived to inspect the problem, they told me that a vendor would need to examine the microwave before they could schedule an electrician.

After more than three weeks, the microwave vendor still had not come to my unit. I was never given a date for the visit, and management told me they had no control over the vendor's schedule. After three weeks without a working microwave, I invoked Colorado's Warranty of Habitability statute (C.R.S. § 38-12-503). Only then did maintenance replace the breaker, after which the issue was immediately resolved.
It was incredibly disappointing to have to escalate the matter and navigate such a wasteful process, especially given the history of wiring problems in this complex.
There is a resident in the community who goes around "digging for gold" and used to keep his dog off leash. The dog wanders away while he is distracted. Several residents have complained. Other incidents have occurred as well, including dog feces being thrown at a resident's door, and a hole made in a stairwell. More recently, another resident caught this individual on camera vandalizing their car, and that resident was allowed to terminate their lease.
My car was also vandalized during the same time-frame, but management stated there were no grounds to terminate my lease because I did not have video footage of the incident. Management further stated that they are not required to have cameras in the parking lot and that the vandalism could have occurred somewhere else. This was a frustrating response when my concern is safety. I have never experienced vandalism before, and I do not believe this was a coincidence.
This resident is reportedly being evicted, but he appears unstable and genuinely believes he has struck gold. I am concerned he will return to pursue this fantasy and could engage in further criminal mischief, particularly against residents who have complained. It was also frustrating to be told, in effect, that at Flatiron Flats "you park at your own risk." I was further disappointed by Jessica's comment that "you used to be cool." Residents should not be expected to be "cool" with vehicle vandalism or with essential appliances being nonfunctional for weeks.

There has also been an ongoing issue with dog waste around the property. Other residents and I have complained several times. Brett suggested that I call animal control and try to follow residents to catch offenders on video. After I escalated the issue, Jessica stated: "We will be implementing a second ground cleaning each day. Grounds will continue to be cleaned in the morning as is currently performed, and additional cleaning will now take place in the late afternoon to further maintain the cleanliness of the community. We will also order new pet stations to incorporate throughout our community."
This plan has not been consistently maintained, and additional pet waste stations have not been installed. After escalating again, it was disappointing to hear, "We can't clean it every five minutes." No one is asking for a full-time employee to be posted at the dog park. I am asking for what was promised. Jessica has stated that the grounds are being cleaned every day, while also stating that there is limited maintenance staffing, that there was a period in March when the grounds were not cleaned, and that a porter is hired only three times per week.

On September 2nd, said there had been a mix-up with my mailbox. When I went to the office, Brett explained that I should have been assigned a different mailbox. We exchanged keys and mailboxes. It later turned out I had been assigned the correct mailbox originally, so we had to reverse the process and restore my original mailbox.
Months ago, I requested a second key fob, but I was told the machine was down. As of today, I have still not received a second key.
On March 6th, I requested a copy of my service animal documentation, which should have been on file. Management was unable to locate it. Fortunately, I was able to obtain another copy from my physician.
Additionally, there is virtually no noise insulation between units. I can consistently hear my neighbors on a daily basis.

If your unit faces the pool, opening the windows results in a foul and pungent odor. In Dec, a construction project began to improve ventilation in the pool area. To this day, the smell still persists when I open my windows. On occasion, the odor can be detected even with the windows closed, and my air purifier registers a significant drop in air quality.
