And the meat department overall is just not so well kept anymore. I don't have too many feelings about an Albertson's since they went extinct in my home state, but on this same trip we also saw a flagship Albertsons in Idaho... and the contrast was pretty stark. I think the small size and dated-ness to this spot had its own charm but I also popped into a store on the new side of town later on that night (can't get enough of run-to-the-store-quick trips on a road trip) and it was pretty darn nice. The Pollo Marsala came with 2 pieces of tender chicken fillets and linguine pasta; both bathed with yummy wine sauce and topped with cremini mishrooms. Sauce was sweet with a hint of the mushroom flavor. Also yummy dish. The Carbonara looked like it had bacon instead of the traditional pancetta. The sauce was creamy but could use a little salt. Had a taste of butter. I like this one the least. They give complimentary Italian bread, butter and olive oil & balsamic vinegar. Bread was soft; didn't taste sweet compared to other Italian bread I've had. Didn't wait long for the food. Prices were reasonable especially for the size and yumminess of the entrees. The staff were nice and patient as we took a few minutes to look at the menu. The dining room was comfortable and bright.
