I rarely leave reviews, but the experience we had at Flanagan's in Miramar was honestly one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. We originally put our name on the waitlist to eat inside. The staff offered us outdoor seating so we accepted it, thinking it would be fine. Unfortunately, by the time our food arrived (around 6:35-6:40 pm), the bugs started coming out. And when I say bugs, I mean a lot of them. It got to the point where they were constantly landing on the table and the food. Half of the people at our table couldn't even finish their meals because the bugs were so bad. We asked if it would be possible to move inside, but the restaurant was completely full and they couldn't accommodate us. So we basically had to sit there swatting bugs while trying to eat. To make matters worse, my burger wasn't great to begin with. They forgot the extra pickles I ordered and didn't bring ketchup or mustard. By the time I was finally able to get the condiments and the missing pickles, my food was already cold. At that point it just wasn't worth eating anymore. I do want to say that the waitress herself did an outstanding job. She was attentive and polite, and none of this seemed to be her fault. The issue appeared to be with whoever prepared the food and the overall situation with the outdoor seating. But overall, the experience was just really unpleasant. Our server was in a bad mood and did not have an ounce of customer service. Not friendly and not attentive. For the first time in all my years of coming to Flanigans, the food sucked. Wow does Flanigans have a great lunch special! They have over 10 different items to choose from and you just have to order a drink to get them for $6.99. I decided on the BBQ chicken sandwich, and fries. But before we get to that, I just want to say ordering a drink and getting a green Flanigans cup really always enhances the experience! I also got to try the croqueta balls that had rib meat inside for an appetizer! The outside was extremely crunchy and crispy and the inside was too die for!! So the BBQ sandwich. Wow was that good! The BBQ sauce is a sweet sauce that isn't Smokey at all. I like it as it's very unique. The chicken on the sandwich is very flavorful and a large piece too. I thought the sandwich was as good as it can get in terms of quality and taste! I also love the fries at Flanigans. They have that curly fry shape that makes them addicting to eat every last one of them. I don't know why I don't go to Flanigans more often as every time I visit, it's out of this world! Everyone loved how the place was decorated for the holidays. It was festive, cozy, and quaint. We started with the nachos. I've had them many times before. This mountain was so huge, I have no idea how they got it so high without topping over. It had beautiful presentation and the toppings were fresh. Next I had the half rack of ribs. I have lived in South FL since 2004, and I had not eaten at Flannigan's. I've gotten drunk at Flannigan's (remember when the Marlins won the World Series? I don't bc I was watching the game at Flannigan's) but on Saturday we drove past this location and my husband decided he must have ribs. There's a lot of fish decor, and tons of pics of guys in tiny bathing suits on the walls, not my taste in decor but hey, we r not here for the decor. The music was that 80s rock we love, and the service was FANTASTIC. Raul, our server, was attentive and knowledgeable. Did not push us to order alcohol, and got our order perfectly. The food was delicious. It's bar food, not overly complicated. But the ribs fell off the bone, had a beautiful smokiness, and were a very generous size. The wings were perfection. I was seated around 1:00 PM and placed an order for nachos, a burger, and the firecracker shrimp. After waiting 40 minutes with no updates, I flagged down our server, James, who had not checked in with us during that time. I asked how long it typically takes to prepare nachos, and he responded that he had just placed our order and that nachos usually take only 3-4 minutes. This only reinforced my concern, as it was now after 2:00 PM and our food had still not arrived. I understand that restaurants can get busy, but guests seated 20 minutes after us received similar meals--such as a burger and BBQ chicken--well before we did. Our shrimp and burger finally arrived at 2:12 PM. In the meantime, my soda had gone flat, and I wasn't offered a refill until the very end of the meal. Overall, the service was disappointing. I was down in Florida for a high school football game and right before arriving, the skies opened up in true Florida fashion causing a rain delay due to lightning . There was a lengthy wait, however someone was tired of waiting and gave me their spot in line, what a nice group of Floridians! I love Flannagan's and always go to the Pembroke Pines location ( I live in Miami Springs). But, it was easier for the group to meet at Miramar to celebrate my birthday. We were a party of 11 and were seated outdoors. It was 15-20 minutes before someone realized that we had not given our order. Part of the group ordered 2 buckets of beer but my husband, friend and I ordered a coke , water and a beer. We all put in our food order at the same time as our drink orders. About 20 minutes passed and one bucket of beer came out as well as my drink. Then about 20 minutes later, 2 plates of food arrived but the other bucket of beer still had not arrived. When we asked about the 2nd bucket of beer, the waitress said they were cooling 2 Heinekens to bring out the second bucket. The group said to just bring another brand of beer. She could have asked the group and given the choice to wait or make another beer selection. The remainder of the food orders didn't come out until another 15 minutes later and it was cold and the orders were incorrect. By this time, 2 managers were involved but still did not seem to be able to fulfil the orders correctly. There were no condiments ( salt, pepper, ketchup. BBQ sauce) on the table even after we asked several times. This was a complete disaster and untimely orders. Additionally , my order of wings had a line of feathers still on some of them. Disgusting!! I have never had such poor service and poor quality of food. Our orders were not complicated and although the managers could see the unorganized mess and provided an apology, there were no attempts to correct the ongoing mess. We were very disappointed and all agreed that our experience was the worst. I sent an email and the response was "We regret this was the case during your last visit. We have recorded this information and will be discussing it with our team. We appreciate you sharing this feedback". No compensation on our wasted time and money.
