Food was excellent. Service was excellent. Friendly and professional. The waiter was actually from Ireland and has been living in Vienna for several years. We were part of a large group and he had no difficulty handling that along with the regular crowd. Food and drinks came quickly. Menu is good. Recommend by Johnny's Irish Pub. This is a rainy Sunday and mostly empty. Not impressed at all. Service? Not the greatest. Bartender more interested in watching his soccer game than making this customer feel welcome. ( it's almost empty). TV in my section was not on, had to ask. Always walking away when answering a question. Made it even harder to understand through thick Irish accent. Lamb and vegetables were ok! I ordered the Irish Stew, More like Irish soup. Others have to decide for themselves if they want to visit! Might be better when more crowded and just for drinking. . Not my favorite Eatery in Vienna. read more

A friend who lives in Vienna recommended this as a great place to go for a beer and to get something to eat. I concur. I went in for a beer and decided to get something to eat. Along with my beer I had a meat pie which wasn't bad but there were so many other things on the menu I would like to have tried so I settled on this. It wasn't a bad choice. It was a laid-back casual atmosphere with people focused either on the television screen or each other. The service was good. My timing was perfect because not long after I sat down and ordered, the bar filled up due to a football match being aired. I like Irish Pubs. Good atmosphere, good staff, good food and good drinks! I love this Irish pub. The staff are always friendly, they are happy to accommodate big groups, there are separate smoking/ non-smoking sections, the food menu is good and more extensive than other Irish bars (they also cook and sell traditional Irish bread daily - good for those who are homesick), free wifi, lots of TVs so they can show a few matches at a time, nice outdoor area for summer and average drinks and food prices for an Irish bar. I have no negative comments about this place. The only thing I would say is that the atmosphere is sometimes hit and miss: sometimes it is very busy and buzzing with people and other times it is quiet, I think it depends on the football/rugby schedule as well! We got there at 10pm. Didn't know it was closing at 11pm. We ordered food but the kitchen was closed already but they made it for us anyway. They would have let us stayed beyond 11 but we didn't want to hold them back. I had the sausage and my friends shared the pork knuckle. So much food. I really like the homey, comfortable feeling that a pub should have! It's big enough to go any time I feel like it... we'll usually find a spot. the flanagans - hmm what shall I say about this place. It is a nice and big pub, full of people, just like a pub is supposed to be. The waiters are nice, the kitchen is good - if you are looking for a authentic irish breakfast you should go there - the bar offeres a broad virarity of drinks and they show champions league on variouse TV screens. Sitting is not always comfortable, the have a lot of wood chairs and benches (if you get a seat!). Personally I ca't say that Flanagans is more special than other Irish Pubs. read more

Did the first thing I want to do for my birthday in Vienna happened to be going to an Irish pub? Why yes it did. It might sound odd but I loved my time in Ireland so much that when I found out there was an Irish pub with people actually from Ireland working there down the street from my hotel, I was all over it. Nice location on a corner with a great outdoor patio (where we sat). Perfect for grabbing a pint of Guinness or perhaps a Magners. Most pubs in Ireland don't serve a full on menu but it was nice that this one did for the occasion. We got the fish and chips which were really good. Prices are reasonable too. Service was great. Super nice guys. Key things to remember when dining in Europe: you seat yourself most places and they won't rush you so you'll have to let them know when you're ready for the bill. They had a lot of regulars coming in that knew them which is always a testament to a great spot. My only complaint (and this is a complaint about almost the whole of Europe really) is the bathrooms were downstairs. I know land is at a premium in big cities but seriously Europe, putting bathrooms downstairs is just so unnecessary and unfair to those of us who are mobility impaired. Otherwise, I would have come here every day of my time in Vienna if I could have! read more

Went to watch a football game here with a group of friends the other day. Ended up not being able to actually watch the game .... Here are some key points: they don't take reservations, there is smoking in this pub at the bar area, there is only 1 TVs in the room that has no smoking which is not visible from most locations in this room. Beer is good, service is quick, food is ...well it's a pub, so nothing special. This place is fine for a beer, but that's as far as that goes for me.... read more

What a fun place! The staff is nice and helpful and the drinks are reasonable. Reserving a private area for an event is also not a problem. AND they even have a veggie burger!! I didn't try it because I wasn't hungry but I was told by another patron, that it is good. I am deducting a star for the smoking area. You have to walk through the smoking area to get to the non-smoking area and the restrooms. And since there is no door between smoking and non-smoking, you'll end up stinking of smoke no matter where you sit. Yikes! read more

Flanagan's is great if you want to hang out down town in a real pub atmosphere and not have to empty your wallet! There is a large smoking and non-smoking section. The mangaers are friendly and English is the native language. The staff were incredibly helpful with an event I threw there and had absolutely no problem with all of my detailed requests. The menu looks great and I will be back for sure when I can actually sit down and enjoy the restaurant section. This is really the best Irish pub in town. All of the other Irish pubs are measured against them. Flanagan's has good British and bar food, delicious beers, and they're open late. Their central location makes it the perfect spot to meet up with friends for a pint and the side room (the library) can be rented out for private functions and parties. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially with large parties, and they're even nice enough about asking you to leave when closing time eventually comes around. read more

We had four dishes -all fair to good but could have been much better.i had chicken and mushroom pie pie it wasn't a pie but a puffy roll cut in two with pie filling. Second meal was a club sandwich but they didn't toast the bread.Third was a steak sandwich on baguette but no baguette and white bread instead. Fourth was Irish fish and chip and this was very good. This is a great place to meet ex-pat's in Vienna. After a few beers I felt tempted to stay and work in Austria.
