I have caled three times as a staff member (Ricky) promised to send me an email containing links to .gas ovens they sell as they are not available for viewing on the floor. No email received. I called two days and later and was told he didn't come untill 11am, left a message and was told he would call me back. No call. The third time I called I said, look if you can't work with me just let me know -you can even text as I had left my cell phone each time I called. Again no response. I think you can guess what has happened . Unprofessional behavior. I don't know what staff do after you purchase something but this is not a good sign. read more

As soon as I handed over the check, Flamtech was nearly impossible to communicate with regarding delivery and install. The biggest issue is that Flamtech contracts its delivery and installs to a separate company that it apparently has no authority over or ability to communicate with. Yet it also insists on being the middleman to this company, and will not provide you their number or contact information for you to schedule the delivery and install yourself. Ricky was great at buying the model of fridge we told him to buy, but completely unhelpful arranging the delivery and install of the fridge. He was suddenly nearly impossible to get a hold of, and unable to give us any information about the delivery date. Our first scheduled delivery date was canceled, which Ricky knew about days before but neglected to tell us until the day of. He was also somehow unable to pass along any information to the delivery team: the delivery guys delivered the new fridge and said they weren't scheduled for any removals or installs. Ricky then tried to claim arranging the fridge to be both brought into my house and installed was my responsibility, that I should have worked it out with the delivery guys beforehand. How? Ricky, I don't have their number. You do. You can't have it both ways. Either you offer the service of delivery and install, or you don't. You can't tell me that you have no ability to coordinate with your delivery and install company, while forcing me to rely on that company to get the appliance into my home. Now I have a fridge in the middle of my kitchen with no way to get it installed or have the old one removed. Ricky's solution was to offer to call the delivery team to try to schedule the install. Wish he had thought of that two weeks ago when I gave him the check. read more

Over the years I've bought a stove, microwave, dishwasher and now refrigerator from Flamtech. They are simply the best.

First of all, when you're an adult you spend money on non exciting shit. Like - 'damn, need new tires' or 'guess I gotta get a new hot water heater'. Appliances would typically be in that space, I think. Like yes there's sexy appliances but it low key hurts for them to break down unexpectedly and then you've gotta replace it ...just not as fun as buying new shoes or a handbag. ENTER Flamtech - I just bought a place and the appliances provided by the seller were fine (didn't match but all somewhat stainless steel) and the fridge jutted into the walkway into the kitchen. I knew I wouldn't find a fridge that with a depth of 24" (with doors) but I searched in vain. Doing it over the weekend, I was resigned to the fact on Monday that I was going to just live with what was there. Jane - resident Flamtech appliance knowledge salesperson badass extraordinaire - had previously sold me a fiyah range and so I was like, lemme see what she can do. OF COURSE SHE FINDS ONE THAT IS 24" without the doors BUT ONLY 27" with!!! An online retailer had the same unit for sale too and not only did she competitively offer a lower price, she was able to get it to me within three days!!! I mean, seriously. She is also helped me get my dream dishwasher and literally stopped me from buying a matching microwave (I have issues with boundaries). I am in love with appliances and Flamtech. Going there for my ACs too and wish I had to buy something else. OBSESSED!!! read more

I bought My Blue Star French wall oven and Blue star Stove top with grill from Flamtech. Almost 4 years ago when I renovated the house. The staff was amazing then.. Extremely knowledgeable and even recommended Elica hood. The Elica hood is fantastic.. and sucks way the smoke!! The hood even lowers and raises the fan speed if there is more smoke or steam without you having to further adjust the knob. (Within the current setting). The reason for this review, is that Susan of FlemTech is amazing. She stated she was very busy and then assisted me right away in sending me a copy of my sales receipt. However, the receipt did not include the serial number of my appliance. (Without a serial number many appliance repair places were refusing to do a service call.) Susan assured me that her company and Blue Star have a long relationship. Susan got in touch with Blue Star for me and obtained several repair places that with "Blue Star's" and FlamTech .. intervention they would do a service call. Finally Susan found a Service Tech that would venture from LI to SI to service my French Oven under the recall (Use of the convection oven fan during pre-heating or broiling can cause accumulated gas to ignite, posing a burn hazard to consumers when oven door is opened.). MVP Service 718-300-6429. MVP CS was extremely helpful and I was able to figure out along with CS rep from Blue Star how to obtain the serial number without pulling the oven out!. Flametech CS is amazing and to continue to support a customer 4 years after the sale of an appliance is AMAZING and note worthy!! So my kitchen is installed after a looong construction delay and it looks great thanks to Jane at Flamtech. There was a hiccup during install and low and behold, Flamtech were super helpful and got me an independent installer to show up the next morning and correct the issue in mins for cheap. Now I am trying to buy a new W/D and again the peeps at Flamtech are super on point. The amount of knowledge, the professional communication and tight follow up is superior to all the rest. I discovered this morning that my refrigerator had stopped cooling. Everything in the freezer was defrosted. I started searching the big stores for a fridge that would fit - I was going crazy with all the models. I found a model, ordered it online and paid, then was notified that delivery would be 2-3 weeks. I canceled the order. Next I called stores to see if they could give me quick delivery times, but I could see it would've taken hours, checking one model at a time. Then I did a Google search - "appliances near me" - and found Flamtech. Excellent reviews. It looked like one of those old Bowery appliance places. I called Flamtech and spoke with Jane, who was a real godsend. I explained the space restrictions and the urgency - it's virus time, and I've not been outside in more than 4 wks, and I need a fridge. Jane asked for the measurements and patiently searched for a fridge that could be delivered asap. While I waited she found two that fit the bill. I ordered one, which will arrive Tuesday. I paid through Zelle, signed, scanned, and return the order, and finally sat down to breakfast, at 4 pm. (Oh, and in the meantime, I found a neighbor happy to use my defrosted and perishable food, which I delivered to her front door.) read more

My stacked washer-dryer unit had already been repaired twice, so it was on it's last legs, so when it went out a 3rd time, it made no sense to keep doing the repairs. Flamtech had good reviews on yelp so I went down there. They were helpful and careful, as the previous machine had a pre-built cabinet, I wanted just the right size. I bought a good model and the woman at Flamtech was very helpful and showed me many options. They still had my warranty info 5 years later on file, and again, were helpful with all the details when I needed a repair under warranty. (I use the washer-dryer a lot with a bed-bound relative). My only complaint would be with the delivery and installation company, who put it in un-level and left before the spin-cycle, so they had to come back and re-level. They also used an electric screw gun to really jam in the screws, which you don't want - screws are sometimes meant to be unscrewed to get inside and clear up the inner workings. Had to use pliers to unscrew. I got the thing off, but it was harder than it should have been. read more

After going to a different place to try and find my washer and dryer I found this place on Yelp. It's hard to spend that much money and have horrible customer service. But this place is different. From the moment you walk in someone greets you. They all seem happy to see you and happy to help. I worked with Jane who was an absolute pleasure. When we renovated our kitchen prior to moving in 15 years ago, we ended up buying our appliances at PC Richard after looking around at various local shops. We replaced several of these over the years, particularly in the last few, also, as it happens, from PC Richard. But recently, when our washing machine called it quits, I knew we had to do something different. Our building has strict regulations about the type of W/D you can install, who can do it, what water-saving devices are required to be installed in advance, etc. On top of this, our kitchen was basically created around the washer and dryer and getting them out would take a real pro, not a generic big box store installer. For this reason I really wanted to use a local Manhattan shop that would know how to deal with this sort of situation. We first checked out Gringer, a place we'd been to in the past though never purchased anything from. True to their Yelp reviews, no one paid the least amount of attention to us when we walked in. A bunch of guys sitting there talking to each other, not helping customers or potential customers. It seemed odd, but c'est la vie. Next up: Flamtech. It was located right on the Bowery in what we'd always considered the "lighting district," though I'd never actually noticed them there. The reviews were great so we headed over. We looked around but didn't see any washers or dryers so we asked for help. The woman who helped us took us right over to working models, said "This is really what you're looking for," (particularly the Miele heat pump dryer), and was so knowledgable, friendly, and capable that we knew we'd found the right place. This turned out to be Jane, star of many (accurate) Yelp reviews. She asked us to send photos of our kitchen so they could plan an installation, and when we got home we took said photos and sent them along. Our building required some onerous paperwork, insurance, master plumber-installed-water shutoff valve, etc. Not only did Jane and co handle the building with aplomb, but they helped me justify to our management company why we didn't actually need such a device (the washing machine had its own, built-in). Their installer even came to the apartment in advance to plan out a route in to the kitchen, measure our current appliances, and devise a strategy on delivery day. And while the whole process took longer than I'dve really liked, that was no fault of Flamtech: they jumped through the hurdles our management company posed with nothing but smiles and courtesy. Following the installation our first test run of the washer resulted in a "water input pressure" alarm being tripped, and they were all over it. I ran it a second time without any problem and realized that after the complex installation the installer had wanted to run both the dishwasher and the clothes washer to make sure they both worked, and that inevitably caused the pressure to be low for both. Running them one at a time (which is what we usually make a point of doing) alleviated the issue. Even so, the installer himself called me the next day to follow up and make sure everything was working properly. This is what service should be everywhere. Unfortunately it isn't, but be happy that Flamtech is around to see things through. Our experience wasn't just good, it was perfect. read more

I purchased a lot of things with Flamtech back in 2014-2015 - all my kitchen appliances, countertops, fixtures, vacuum, the whole 9 yards. Their pricing and selection was great, their certified installation was on point, they made sure my warranty registration was set up properly and accommodated some special requests I had during delivery. I've been happy with my purchases. Fast forward several years to December 2018, when I had contacted them about an issue with my cooktop knob, they remembered who I was, took care of my issue the same day and followed up with me several times to make sure I received the replacement part. I could have purchased everything online or from a big box store like PC Richards, but this is why a local businesses like Flamtech deserves our business. The staff at Flamtech is not just knowledgeable and helpful when there is a sale at stake, they continue to treat customers right even 3, 4 years after the sale. read more

My contractor recommended this store, and I am so glad he did! On my first visit, Jane spent an hour with me talking about stoves and I never even bought anything. No attempt to up sell, either--she really listened to what I said I wanted and my price range. Then she answered plenty of e-mail questions. I finally bought the stove and a range hood as well (the one Jane recommended). May arranged the delivery in a quick and efficient way. There was a little problem with the range hood, and after just one e-mail Jane had it all straightened out very quickly with no bother for me. Flamtech sells expensive brands--professional and high-end home kitchen--but the prices are fair for what you get. I placed a very large order of 10 appliances from Flamtech. Their prices were slightly higher than their larger competitors, but I liked that they were a family business located in Manhattan, and that if anything went wrong I could get somebody to assist me. Unfortunately this was NOT the case. Upon delivery of the order, I noticed that a very small piece that was supposed to be included, had been omitted from the delivery (a $29 piece from a very large order). I alerted them immediately after the delivery and they told me to look around and see if it turned up. Fair enough... Unfortunately the piece didn't turn up, and I kindly notified them, expecting that they would simply send it to me. Rather than solving the issue by just sending me the $29 part that was omitted from the delivery (simple and easily forgiven mistake), they told me there was nothing they could do about it and that I could order it myself on Amazon. They further aggravated the issue by sending an offensive letter insinuating that either me or my contractor had stolen the part (as if anybody cares to steal a washer dryer stacking kit) and attempting to assign blame everywhere. Bottom line is that I paid a premium expecting good service from Flamtech, and they made it abundantly clear that their service ends when the check clears. This is not the matter of a $29 piece (which I ultimately had to buy again) or where it went, its a matter of how to treat customers and conduct business. God forbid I would hate to have to deal with them on a warranty or service issue! I will take my money elsewhere in the future... read more

Fantastic appliance store. Just purchased a high-end LG washer & dryer from them. Shopped everywhere - salesman at HD on W 23rd was smart, knowledgeable and helpful: guy at Lowe's in Brooklyn said "I don't do laundry." when asked for a recommendation; AJ Madison provided an excellent price, but AJ's reviews on Yelp and Better Business Bureau border on scary; PC Richards was fine. Costco and BJ's had great prices and free delivery & install, but their install firm has a crap reputation and long delivery delays. I am so glad I found Jane and Forrest at Flamtech. They provided great advice, easily matched AJ's price and selected a fantastic delivery/install company for a tricky installation. Flamtech's installers neatly (!!) removed an ancient laundry center and expertly squeezed in fantastic new stacked LG units. They even carefully (!) removed the laundry room door (I had the super ready to handle but they took care if it). Jane and Forrest also calmly dealt with delivery delays due to two nasty storms and kept us totally informed. These guys were helpful, responsive and seemed to actually care about their service and our satisfaction. This store is truly a gem! Great prices and service for new appliances for kitchen, laundry, etc. Definitely worth a visit, call or email (they are quickly responsive to all communications). Flamtech appliances and particularly Jane, Jasmine and the delivery team are fabulous to work with! I had steam leaks in both my kitchen and laundry room which resulted in my entire kitchen being gutted and renovated and the laundry room being repaired. I needed to buy all new appliances for both rooms. I had called and/or went to some of the "big box" stores and well know companies but after reading so many positive reviews about Flamtech I decided to work with them - and I am so happy that I did! Having to deal with contractors and 2 insurance companies was very stressful, and I am grateful to have found Jane and Jasmine because they took a huge burden off of me and their part part of the repair/renovation process went perfectly! Jane is so incredibly knowledgable that she is still my "go to" person for any question regarding an appliance and/or installation (and my renovation was completed six months ago)! She is also very efficient. Example: #1 I wanted a 5 burner gas range that would have several fast acting burners. I was in the showroom and Jane went online. She opened approximately 9 tabs of ranges and quickly compared the BTU's of every burner and narrowed it down to 2 choices. It took her less than 15 minutes and we chose the perfect range for my needs. Example #2 I was frustrated reading reviews of top brand faucets causing problems within a few years because of how they are made now compared to previously. (ie breaking, leaking, ruining floors and cabinets). Jane recommend a lesser know brand that does not have these issues and is extremely l made. It's stylish, looks great and works perfectly. My purchases included appliances from GE, Whirlpool and Sub zero. Jasmine took my calls when Jane was not available and helped with deliveries, contracts, appointments, and other information. The team of Jane and Jasmine is terrific! Flamtech's prices are competitive and their personal service and delivery set up is the best! The delivery team shows up when they are supposed to, I was called the night before, and given several updates in the morning. Being a Manhattanite with the need of having to replace our custom panel ready Miele dishwasher I was not looking forward to scouting around the boroughs seeking the best price, and customer service. As any smart consumer would do...I googled the internet. The first established appliance showroom/store that came up was in Brooklyn. After reading their customer service reviews, and calling two times after being placed on hold then disconnected, only added to my frustration. Also for the record...I swore I would never set foot in another P.C. Richards after a horrendous experience I had in the past. I decided to visit the Miele showroom on East 58th street in Manhattan. So that's just what I did. (Go to the source.) It seemed like the logical thing to do. Doing this would allow me to view all the styles and find the best suitable dishwasher for our families needs. And, perhaps the rep would be helpful in guiding me to a source for purchase. This experience proved to be the solution I was seeking! The rep at the showroom asked if I had been to Flamtech. I had never heard of them, and learning they were located in Manhattan. I sensed her enthusiasm, and looked forward to paying them a visit. I did. She suggested I ask for 'Jane.' Well, I'm writing this review with my newly-installed Miele dishwasher running on a cycle. I realized It was not so much the difference in price of the Miele dishwasher from one retailer to the next. Miele has a manufacturer's suggested price, and the appliance sells itself.
