So knowing that I was at a school I didn't rate this lower as there were many hiccups during this visit. I'll start off by saying that I had a Groupon and it required making reservations and that was no easy task. I called multiple days, leaving multiple messages before someone finally called me back. We arrived at the restaurant and we were seated rather quickly. We were given a menu, told what the meal of day was and started off with drink selections. The waitress, who never gave us her name, came back with our drinks and we placed our orders. The only draw back was she let us know that they may be out of this or that without first checking. The meal started with an amuse bouche, which was described as fried risotto. I asked what kind of risotto is it (mushroom, cheese, etc) which she replied she didn't know (and made no effort to finding out). I shrugged that off and waited for the appetizer. When it arrived it was a fried ball on top of a tomato sauce. After a bite or two I realized that this was cold. I asked the waitress how was this to be served and she said hot, I explained it wasn't and she apologized as she took my plate away (no replacement). Next course was salad, in which I chose the Cesar salad. This wasn't what I was expecting but I made it work. The croutons were extremely hard, the salad was overdressed and the dressing had a strong vinegar taste in which I wasn't able to eat all of that. She also brought 3 rolls to the table (for the two of us) along with a garlic butter. Sadly the rolls were cold so that was another miss on the score card. After sitting there and watching other diners who came in after us, the waitress came to let us know that they forgot to call our order so it would be out shortly. The entree was a pork tenderloin, which the waitress only mentioned coming on top of spaetzle, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was asparagus and zucchini on the plate. The plate itself needed some finesse, I was surprised by the small meat portion (that actually tasted really good), the spaetzle was warm where the tenderloin was but the rest was cold, the asparagus and zucchini was cooked very well. The dessert - we had an option between an opera cake (which was described as a tiramisu) or a lemon raspberry tart. Went with the tart and although it was pretty, the description was off. This came out like a slice of cake, the raspberry was a gel that was on top and between the layer (and lacked flavor) and the lemon was tart and needed to be balanced more. For what I paid, it was a decent meal, but we got lots of things that need to be worked on. The waitress let us know that it was the students 3rd day in the kitchen and that they were overwhelmed due to an unexpected event taking place at the school. Although I understand that, it shouldn't be the reason for cold food and lack of knowledge about the food from the server.

The service was eager and helpful, and everyone enjoyed their meal. I do plan to return, as this is definitely a place I want to support.
