After I called I got a call…read morefrom the company who explained the process and that someone was working in our area and it could be up to 2 hours. I okayed that and got a text message 5-10 minutes later and replied Yes to accept the service. Then I got another text about 15 minutes later from the Service Technician saying he will be here in about an hour. After that text he arrived about 20 minutes later introduced himself and I showed him the problem. His name is Mr. Galu - I hope I spelled it correctly. My first impression was he is friendly, clean-cut, professional, courteous, competent, and wearing a mask. He went to the front of the house to look at the round pipe above the ground and saw bush roots around it. He cut the bush and roots, okay by me and I helped, and then got an electric "snake" to go down the pipe and reversed it out. This cleared out everything blocking the pipe and all was back to normal again. He asked if we had a dog and if we bathe the dog in the tub which we do. He saw a lot of dog hair and most likely was the problem after 12 years of baths. More good news! He recommended Roto-Rooter Preventative Pipe Shield Maintenance Treatment - 1 Gallon - good for at least 64 treatments and will last a year. I definitely want something like this. He had some with him and had it added to the invoice. He explained and showed me how to mix it with water, when and how to do. It is only once a month. The next day I purchased a screen to place over the tub opening to keep any dog hair from going down the drain again. I am completely satisfied and highly recommend Roto-Rooter and especially our Service Technician Mr. Galu as he is the best and would like to give him Special Thanks And Recognition (STAR) - Thank you.

At the time, I thought it might be overpriced, but I accepted it because they did some repairs and promised bathroom work. I never signed the invoice or contract (DocuSign remained unsigned). 2. No proper camera inspection: The technician excavated the same area they claimed was leaking--but missed a large hole in the main sewer line entirely. 3. Partial completion, big issues: They returned later and finished the bathroom work for free--thank you for that--but still did not fix the hole in the main line. 4. Independent plumber confirmed fault: I had a second licensed plumber review everything. He said the hole likely occurred during Roto‑Rooter's "descaling" process, and the original invoice description ("descaling") is overly vague, offering no clear accountability. 5. Ongoing problems: Water pressure in the main bathroom is poor, hot water isn't working right, the toilet wasn't reinstalled properly, and the integrity of the line is compromised. 6. They refuse to take responsibility: Management says they fulfilled the contract--but their own technician missed the damage, and I have a professional saying it's their fault. 7. I've disputed the charge with Synchrony Bank, filed complaints with the BBB and Florida Department of Consumer Protection, and I'm prepared to escalate further unless this is corrected at no cost. Final thoughts: I would've been happy to pay if Roto‑Rooter had done fair, honest, and competent work. Instead, I'm left with damage and risk that could have been prevented. I strongly advise anyone to get multiple quotes, read documents carefully, and never sign or pay large invoices without verified work. Avoid this company unless you're ready to risk being overcharged and left with more problems than you started.
