DONT eat here! So we order 3 bowls. The cashier sets the bowls down. Wipes mucus off his nose and quickly grabs hand sanitizer then gives our food before it even dries off his hands. Sanitizer going all over the place. Just gross. We are so tired of complaining about logical service at places we frequent. Loved this place!! I ordered a plate of chicken to-go, and absolutely loved it! They packed my plate to the brim with their amazing chicken and rice. I've been to multiple flame broilers & this location is definitely making it into my top list. I was on the way to work after class and needed a quick healthy lunch. You'll notice there are a bunch of fast food restaurants as you drive down harbor. This Flame broiler recently just opened couple months ago, it's in the same plaza as chick fil a & fresh and easy. Pretty small inside, but very clean. Interesting thing I noticed is that over here, the guy was the cashier and the ladies were the cooks! I ordered my usual all white meat chicken & veggie bowl no magic sauce (I like to add my own w/the hot sauce), w/ brown rice on the side (I like more veggies less rice haha). Anyway I really liked this location 'cause the chicken breast wasn't overly charred unlike other locations I've been too! Fast friendly service, I give them the extra star for catering to my special requests and actually getting them right. I did notice however that they don't give as much meat as other Flame Broilers. I usually get the Chicken Veggie mini bowl when coming here. Quick service. Vegetables weren't soggy soft but not too hard. Chicken was cooked well. Wasn't chewy or stringy. Rice was too dry though. They're using short grain rice but not adding enough water when cooking it. :-/ I like how they have the option of outdoor seating. Today I learned this location is under new ownership and the prices of a chicken bowl and drink have gone up almost $3. So at $10 for a no rice chicken veggie bowl I will not be returning to this location. They came over and told me we were not allowed to eat inside with the dog. There were a number of people waiting and there was only 1 cook and 1 cashier. When I finally got my food, the chicken was cold and undercooked and the rice was so mushy. I would have taken it back, but I was already late for work. Stay away from this place, they serve cold and sticky food, and the lack of customer service is running rampid. read more

I have been coming to this flame broiler for about a year and a half. I have been looking for a reason to go to a different one, however I come to differ because it's closer to my house. They always close earlier than their sign says sometimes I have to go to the Harbor location around 8:45. PM. Today I finally found my reason to go to a different location and give up on this one. After I called my order in I received a bowl not a plate. The gentleman that always is behind the counter decided to have an argument with me over it. They did offer to change to a plate, however there was way too much discussion after the initial confusion. I never order a bowl I always order a half and half plate I know how to order the plate. With that said I do think flame broiler should change how they have it on the menu because there is a lot of room for confusion. I will go to Harbor or Bristol in the future. The old cashier Richard was always friendly and greeted you when you walked in. Then they got a new cashier-- some korean dude-- who was a bit weird but it was fine. They had the rewards program where if you bought 10 bowls you get a free one. I came in to redeem my free bowl once I got 10 and was told they no longer honor it... WTF? I'm still salty about this. First time trying Flame Broiler and I'm glad I did!! I came here with a friend because Ramen Yamadaya was closed. We both got the half & half (half chicken, half beef) for about $12. Food came out really quickly, and even though the regular bowl looked small, it was enough to fill me up. I like how the put a bunch of healthy stuff in it so I don't feel guilty about eating out. I usually like beef more than chicken, but the chicken here is definitely tastier. There was carrots, cabbage and broccoli in the bowl as well with green onions as a garnish. Nice presentation AND it tasted good!! Oh, and brown rice here is pretty good, better than other restaurants I've been to. read more

I've been to many Flame Broilers besides this one. I was greeted by a cashier named John who got up from whatever he was doing on his laptop to take my order. I've always been able to order a half chicken / half tofu with veggies. For some odd reason, this place refuses to do it. It took an extra 10 minutes of back and forth "compromising" with John to in order to get my order. I've never been met with so many "we just can't do that" in one conversation. So, you're telling me I can't buy it mixed, but I can buy tofu on the side? Even after telling you multiple places do it? Fine. I ordered a chicken bowl with veggies and tofu on the side. When I went to get my tray, I took the tofu, dumped it in my bowl and left the container there on the counter. Voila! Chicken bowl with tofu and veggies. Zero stars for customer service. read more

DO NOT ORDER FOR DELIVERY! I ordered Online for Delivery through the Flame Broiler Web Site. There's a $5.99 surcharge for delivery and you need to pay at least a 15% tip on top upon checkout. Had to finish up a work project so decided to pay the extra fees to get my food delivered instead of having to drive out for pickup. Placed order and got confirmation of expected delivery time of approx 27min, I then received another notification that the order was delivered (on time) so went to check at my front door and to my surprise the food was not there...at first I thought maybe there was a glitch and got the delivered notification in error so I waited another 15min...nothing, Per the order confirmation it instructs to call the location if there are any problems with the order. So I tried to call the location at (714) 540-5850 to inquire about this and the phone just rings a busy signal (tried at least 7 times), at this point it was 30+ min past the expected delivery time so had to drive personally to the location. Upon arrival I spoke with the cashier and explained the issue, she said that the order was picked up for delivery and I had to take it up with UBER or whomever I ordered through....I advised to her that I did not order through UBER and that I had placed order on the flame broiler web site...she then called her manager on her cell phone, and came back a few minutes after "So I spoke with my manager and she said that we sub-contract with a third party for deliveries and we are not supposed to do this but we will make an exception and prepare another order for you" I advised to her I was charged $5.99 delivery fee and $1.49 mandatory tip for an order of $9.99 and then had to drive out to the location because their phone is not working so I wanted to get a refund of the fees, to which she said there was nothing they can do and I would need to take it up with the third party that they sub-contract to, I advised once more to her that I placed the order through their Flame Broiler web site and I did not know who they contract for their deliveries...she called the manager again and came back with the same resolve, we are making the exception to replace your order but you will need to take it up with the third party you ordered through for a refund but she could not even provide a name or contact info for that third party and just shrugged and told me to search online. NEVER ORDERING FROM THIS LOCATION AGAIN! read more
