Went for lunch and the food was good and so was the service. The place is bright and has a nice look to it. The menu has a lot of options I haven't seen before. Need to go back and try some new things
Checked out this new restaurant for lunch today...and it was stellar! The place itself is very sleek...minimalist in design. I'd say the ambiance is cool, yet inviting. They did play overhead music, which helped to warm up the place as well. Service was top notch. My waitress was on top of things...and stayed very attentive throughout. There was even a host that greeted you cheerfully when you entered the place. This is something that's becoming much less common nowadays. I've almost gotten used to getting these blank, dead-pan stares when I enter restaurants. I tried the Flame Special Stir Fry Lo Mein, and it was possibly the best Lo Mein I've had? So much flavor...and they were super generous with the varieties of jumbo shrimp, beef and chicken. So plentiful, I couldn't even finish. Also tried their appetizer Golden Crab & Brie Wonton Crisps...which basically looked and tasted like Crab Rangoon. I liked them, but didn't think they were anything too special. I'll probably try another app next time. Still, the presentation for the foods ordered were great. Overall, I was impressed with this Chinese fusion restaurant. Thought it was on par with Open Rice, another upscaled Chinese fusion place that I love. I loved the convenient location as well. I can't wait to return and try other items from their menu!
Great vibe - wonderful new place that was not designed with females in mind. I say that because the chairs don't have a spot to put your purse and there are no hooks under the table. This results when the tables are full having it on the lap, on the leg or just figuring it out like the floor and being uncomfortable. Don't let the bao buns fool you. They are a meal unto themselves. The server described as 2 biters - it was 4 or 5 for me. Shrimp was fried a delicious golden brown, mayo was on point not too much, not too little, and other accoutrements overall complemented. The crab fried rice - the bowl itself was hot and I couldn't understand why the rice itself wasn't. It was tasty nonetheless w/bites of shrimp or crab in every bite. Overall, this is a fantastic new addition to the S. Charlotte dining scene.

The updated menu is great, it is closer to more Cantonese style food instead of fusion. All the dishes are delicious. The service still great and the restaurant is still nice and pretty. Will have to come back to try their Dim Sum.

There was only one server working the entire dining area, and it was obvious she was overwhelmed. A man behind the bar stood watching but only stepped in once to help while we were there. I found it baffling that he didn't help more. I get wanting the primary server to keep the tips, but it shouldn't come at the expense of basic customer service. We wanted to ask for chopsticks after our food was served, but our server didn't return to check on us until we were nearly done eating. When we asked for to-go containers, it took another 15-20 minutes because she was so slammed. Food rundown: Crispy duck (half): 3/5 Skin was pretty crispy, but a lot of pieces had thick layers of fat that should've been rendered out better. Open Rice's crispy duck is significantly better. Beef chow fun: 4/5 A bit underseasoned, but the beef was tender and the noodles were cooked well. Could have been more generous with the bean sprouts and scallions. Beef fried rice: 4/5 The beef pieces were a little too large for fried rice, but tender. Odd that pork isn't offered as a protein option here, which is what we usually get. Offering char siu pork would be a major plus on the menu. Sesame chicken: 4/5 The steamed broccoli was cold for some reason, but the chicken itself was tasty. Overall, the food is decent and we'd consider returning if we lived closer.
Been here twice and I'm a fan! The lettuce wraps and squid appetizer were so flavorful, Nothing like I have tasted before. The Mongolian trio has plenty of plump shrimp, chicken, and beef. The Singapore noodles were one of the best we have had. The atmosphere is warm with stylish décor, and not too loud making it a great place to have a date night or catch up with friends. The cocktails were also on point! Prices are fair for the quality and portions. Will be coming back!
This place was a nice surprise. The restaurant is nicely decorated and very, very clean inside. They have flowers on the tables too. The service was very good - I asked for some recommendations and went with several of our server's suggestions. We started with chicken gyoza and the crabmeat wontons (basically rangoons). The gyoza was connected by a lacy fried top which was really interesting. We had the Cantonese Beef Chow Fun and the Singapore Curry Chicken. The curry was awesome - but the beef dish was a little bland. Overall, I'm giving it 5 stars because it was a good experience with very good pricing.

It's a modern Asian-fusion spot with a wide-ranging menu that leans American-Chinese but blends Korean, Thai, and Japanese influences too. Inside, the space is clean and simple, some might say too simple. There's not a single piece of art on the walls, which makes the space feel a bit empty and doesn't help the acoustics. That said, the chairs are comfy, the bar is fully stocked, and yes, they serve Cheerwine. Our server Sylbi was warm and attentive. She explained that the concept is fusion-focused, not traditional. You'll find dishes like Shanghai-Style Beef Borscht and Cheese-Baked Filet Mignon alongside familiar favorites. Here's what we tried: * Chicken Gyoza: Served under a crispy, lacy cracker-like pancake that added a satisfying crunch. Not overly doughy like some spots in town. * Crab & Brie Wontons: Crispy on the outside, stuffed full inside. Tastes like a classic crab rangoon. The brie was hard to pick out, but the filling was clearly house-made. * Chicken Egg Roll: Packed tightly and not overloaded with cabbage. One of the better versions I've had locally. * General Tso's Chicken: I asked for no spice and still got a mild kick, but it was tolerable. The chicken was crispy, flavorful, and came with a side of steamed white rice. The plating wasn't anything flashy, but everything tasted fresh and light, not greasy or overly salty. Prices were fair, especially considering the portion sizes and variety. This isn't an authentic Chinese restaurant, and it doesn't try to be. It's casual, Americanized Asian-fusion done with care. If you're nearby, it's worth checking out.
Very good Chinese food! It's very nice inside for being in a strip mall type building. Service was prompt and the server was well versed in the menu. We ordered the crab Rangoon, general tso chicken and beef chow fun. Everything was hot, fresh and above all, not greasy! My only small gripe is that a simple vodka soda was $12 but that is not uncommon in this economy. We will be back to try more adventurous dishes.
Flame Bidtro & Bar restaurant is an excellent place to dine or order for takeout. The service is excellent and food & drinks are superb. The restaurant is clean. Night time dining is an option to end a great evening.

Went to this little Asian Restaurant today for a "To-go" lunch. I ordered my to go lunch there at the front reception desk . I Broke my own rule and never checked their health score until I was waiting on my food. Let's talk about this food. I ordered their basic food. Seriously- the basic lunch special. Chicken fried rice, with spring roll & Egg drop soup . Watching the gal at the front reception bagging up my food I noticed there was no sauces in my bag for the spring roll. I had to ask for sauces .. or there would have been none. Upon realizing that, I asked for a couple soy sauce also cause I wasn't sure how this was gonna go. I also had requested when I ordered the chicken fried rice to not include carrots. To my surprise there was nothing else in this fried rice other than a few and I do mean less than 8 tiny pieces of onion. No bean sprouts, no peas , no water chestnuts, no pea pods, no nothing just sticky fried rice with chicken and those 8 teny tiny onion bits. It was so very meh. I was extremely disappointed. I guess you have to tell the girl up front every single thing you want included or it's not gonna happen. Speaking of disappointing- I also didn't get any of those crunchy noodles for my egg drop soup so that was also very disappointing. The biggest mistake I made was not checking their health score until after I had paid. It was strategically hidden behind decorations on the wall . I literally had to move them to see it. Would I go back. Hard no. Their Basic food was horrible. The soup with no noodles , sauces I had to ask for, and fried rice that was lacking everything including flavor. Nope. BTW their health score is 90. Just barely an A. The reasons listed for that low score were very concerning. I don't normally NOT recommend a place on my first visit but too many misses and mistakes. Such a nice and cozy spot to dine. Unfortunately, I had a migraine, so I grabbed my food to go. Although I did not dine in, the young ladies at the register were kind and enthusiastic. Flame is Asian fusion with a combination of Chinese, Thai, Korean, and Japanese, so DEFINITELY a place you should check out. I had the sesame chicken which comes with jasmine rice and chicken egg rolls. The sesame chicken was sweet with a bit of crunch to the chicken, which I liked, but there was something else I detected, I just cannot place my finger on it. Not a bad thing, it just gave the entree a little razzle dazzle. The egg rolls were nice flaky and light, filled with the standard cabbage, carrots, and chicken. All in all, the food was great. We went here for a birthday lunch and glad we did! We ordered Singapore laksa, Singapore curry vermicelli, beef chow fun, orange chicken, Sichuan twice-cooked pork belly, and walnut shrimp. They were all so delicious that everyone cleaned their plates! There's so much to choose from their extensive menu that you can't go wrong with what you choose. I can't wait to go back and try the other dishes that the others ordered. The inside is very roomy and nicely spaced out between tables. Our server was very attentive and she even gave the birthday person a complimentary cheesecake. Check this place out and find out what you've been missing. First trip to Flame and have to say It did not disappoint! The decor and ambiance very nice! I sat at the bar and Doug was so friendly, professional, and a excellent bartender! He made me a special lotus-lychee mocktail... even made a trip to kitchen for requested fresh ginger root! The Gyoza were delicious a very cool presentation! I had been craving tGeneral Tso's and it was yummy!! Put this Asian Fusion restaurant on the top of your list to visit! read more

Enjoyed our date night at this restaurant after finding it on TikTok. Loved the atmosphere, food was great, our server Tony was awesome, and the bartender made a fine espresso martini. We loved everything we ate. We will be going back! read more

This place is amazing! My server Mario was wonderful. In fact the entire staff was wonderful! Even the bartender asked how my drink was....it was amazing! The food was on point. Amy the manager came over to ask me how everything was. She was very nice and really cared about what I said. I had no complaints. Go check out Flame!! read more
