    Steamed potstickers
    Julie P.

Ordered takeout from Ma Ma Wok, the food was really good. I ordered steamed potstickers (8 pieces), mochi (1 piece), shumai (5 pieces), and pork buns (2 pieces). I could do without the pork buns but everything else was very tasty and sauces were great too! Here's what I didn't like -- the 3% charge added at checkout to use a credit card. Also, a $1 fee is added to the order when you place the order online. Not sure the customer should be paying your vendor fees. My total bill was $40. Not sure if I would go back...

Wonton soup, vegetable chow fun, vegetables with brown sauce and fried rice, spring rolls, sesame tofu.

Everything tastes amazing and staff is incredibly nice. Adding to ouweekly rotation. Absolutely love that everything is vegan so no concerns about fish sauce or cross contamination. Favorites are veg lo mein, wonton soup, vegetables with brown sauce and broccoli with sweet sauce. The quality is always on point! Cannot reccommend this casual spot more. I wish they were on door dash!!!

An awesome spot with a great concept.. Vegan options for Chinese food! Their lo mein and fried rice did not disappoint. Full of flavor, hot and tasty. They provide great service and a welcoming environment. I'm glad to see this place still thriving, and I'd like to visit again sometime soon for delicious vegan Chinese food.

Amazing food and good service! I love a great vegan Chinese spot and this place hit all the marks I was looking for. I got exactly what I was craving and it reminds me of my days when I would eat Chinese food all the time, definitely recommend. I had the sesame chicken and drumsticks (pictured).

Ordered online for delivery! The website was user friendly and well organized. I ordered the house fried rice, buffalo wings, general tso tofu and chinese donuts. I also ordered a side of their mayo sauce. This is an all vegan establishment, so everything listed and spoken about is completely dairy/egg/meat free. The house fried rice was exciting! Rarely do you find vegan shrimp options, so I had to go for it; i'm glad I did. It was flavorful, large in portion size, and as accurate as you could ask for. The buffalo wings were SO yummy. The sauce was tasty enough I put it on my rice, haha. The outside texture had a crunch which was nice. Would definitely recommend. Not pictured is the general tso tofu; pretty standard. Ordered with fried rice which was good! The chinese donuts were probably my least favorite but not because of flavor, solely bc of dough. They were just too bready. Might order them extra sweet next time and try again (: Mayo sauce is a must try!

Have fallen off the vegan train for a while now but was in the mood for some Fried Oyster Mushrooms! What better place than Ma Ma Woks to get my fix! The food is always fresh and so flavorful. They have really nailed Asian style vegan entrees that can satisfy the appetite of all.

If you went vegan and miss Asian food then this is a great spot for you, or a great spot in general for healthier non-meat options! Very surprised and pleased with everything about this place. Not to mention it's in a plaza next to a spot called Sugar Donuts which offers vegan donuts of different flavors and frostings! Perfect lunch + dessert. We got fried rice, chicken wings, sesame chicken, lo mein with shrimp, and the sugar donuts. Everything came out fresh, hot, and in good portions. The fried chicken wings were a little stringy to me so I wasn't a really a fan but everything else was tasty especially the lo mein- I just wish it had bigger pieces of shrimp in it. The sesame chicken was good and tasted almost the same as the actual chicken just a bit more chewy. Being new to vegan eats and eating here was super satisfying to me. The food was filling and the service was great. Our server was so kind and caring and gave us a motherly feel. I would love to come back & try all the other vegan options like the beef with broccoli and ribs.

This is an authentic Chinese dining experience but it's all vegan. On the menu there are items such as beef, chicken, shrimp, and fish but it's all vegan. I tried the salt and pepper king oyster mushrooms, spring roll, and sesame chicken with fried rice. The king oyster mushrooms were hot and fresh and came with a dipping sauce. They were delicious. The spring roll was stuffed with cabbage and carrots and also came with a sauce. The seasame veg, reminded me of sesame chicken. The fried rice was a bit undercooked. Overall, everything was flavorful and fresh.

This is the General Tso's Tofu. Sickly sweet. Covered in some kind of flour coating and a pure sugar sauce! Not healthy. I had to trash it !

This is a terrible and unhealthy place to eat. It is supposed to be vegan/vegetarian, but everything is covered in grease or some slimy sweet sauce. I ordered General Tso's Tofu, and it had three small pieces of broccoli. The picture below is blurry, but you can make it out. Check out the beef noodles. All noodles, scant pieces of fake beef, and slivers of carrots and cabbage. This is a vegan/vegetarian restaurant. The food is supposed to be healthy. Look at that dish for $14. Where are the vegetables??? I was completely unsatisfied with my order, and they refused to make me feel whole. I have been a long-time customer, and they did not offer anything to keep me as a customer. I will never spend another dollar in that place. Also, they charge a fee for using your credit card! Who does that??? This restaurant does not know anything about customer service. Stay out of this restaurant.

Went on a day trip with my sister to see beautiful Charlotte and decided to stop at her favorite restaurant for carry out. We placed the order online and we ordered almost everything on the menu (kidding), we were advised the food would be ready in 30 minutes. I ordered Lo mein and general tso's "chicken" We made it to the restaurant and the parking lot was empty and our food wasn't ready...so we decided to check out the donut shop next door. We waited for over an hour before they called us to the door (they place your food on the table outside). The food looked pretty good and you can tell it was fresh made because it was hot. My lo mein was really good, no complaints there, but my general tso's chicken was tough. They were like chewing chicken gizzards, although it wasn't meat. My sister ordered the exact same, but she also got the crispy duck (vegan) and fried rice. I wish I would've ordered the duck because it was seasoned and cooked to perfection. She loved her food, Ma Ma Wok is one of her favorite vegan spots.

Super friendly, sweet, and helpful staff. We ordered the following : 1. Vegan Buffalo wings- they come 4 to a plate so you easily share because the wings are large. Yummy & spicy ! 2. Drumsticks- they come 4 to a plate and I barely got through the 2nd one without being full ! Very crispy! The sauce is sweet tangy yum ! 3- Kung Pao Chicken- Smokeywheat based yum 4-Veggies in brown sauce with a soy beef & chicken sample added which was out of this world with a grilled, smoky flavor! LARGE PORTIONS so take your appetite!

It was pushing 97 degrees outside, and after a long afternoon of computer work and errands, I finally stopped in for the crispy scallion chicken and pan-fried dumplings. Huge portions. Fair prices. Friendly people. Consistently solid food every single time. The best part today honestly might have been the air conditioning. They've got a cool, comfortable space to wait while your order is prepared, which felt amazing after baking outside all day. I forgot to take food photos because I was hungry and ready to get home, but trust me, they pack these takeout containers like a game of Jenga. Nothing spills. Nothing shifts. Everything is packed tight and thoughtfully. Only tiny downside: the dumpling sauce goes into the same container as the hot dumplings, so by the time I got home, it had softened the bottom a bit. Still, the dumpling wrappers are thick and crispy enough to survive the trip. Into the air fryer later they go. One warning: the parking lot can be chaotic since it sits right off busy Providence Road. Just be patient. Cars are constantly pulling in, backing out, blocking entrances, and today people were absolutely treating red lights like suggestions. Saw it multiple times, including a bus cutting across traffic when I had the right-of-way. Charlotte drivers... please relax a little. That said, the food made the trip worth it. Taipei Express is one of those dependable local spots that always comes through when you need a solid meal without spending a fortune. Life is too short to not eat well. Get out there and eat your way through Charlotte.

It is busy enough that plenty of other people had also called in for takeout. The price was higher than I thought it would be by a significant margin; I thought something was off but then rechecking their menu I saw it was indeed $20 for a vegetable entree. On the upside, they did offer brown rice at no extra charge. Still, I'll get three meals out of it and as someone who eats a lot of takeout, this was not a great value. In terms of quality, I was thrilled to find that they offered a stir-fried okra dish. This is a ubiquitous Indian dish, and of course okra is common throughout the tropics globally, but I'd never seen this offered at a Chinese restaurant before. And the rapid cooking technique typical of the cuisine produced a delightfully crisp vegetable, which went great with a black bean sauce and some very hot dried chilis. On the other hand, their interpretation of ma po tofu had some fermented broad beans but minimal vegetables (sometimes you get mushrooms or peas or at least some leeks or something) and no numbing sensation. They had a bean curd roll dish that I enjoyed, and some quality dumplings. Overall, not huge portions and a mix of okay to great quality.
