I worked with Larry Simons in 1998 and then later with David Gano on the latter three. NOIC comes through where banks fail. My local banks (Adrian, MI.) pissed me off big time ..every time I tried to get a mortgage they always drove me to NOIC and NOIC always came through. I can recommend with confidence David Gano at the Monroe Office . I can be a pain to work with at times but Dave handled me like the pro that he is. He knows his products, the laws, and the industry. Lastly, Dave does his best to help you navigate through the minefield laid by the "underwriters " a clearly misunderstood group. Unfortunately I don't get them either. Getting a mortgage is never easy...Dave and NOIC get the job done. At the end of the day I get what.. I want.

Despite the rating limitations of Yelp, let me just say that my experience with David Gano was unparalleled. G Money was patient, readily available, and extremely knowledgeable in the kinds of edge cases my particular lending situation presented. It's possible that I may need to limit all future real estate purchases to geographic regions that NOIC can operate in, just so I can stick with a tried and true guy like David. Mortgages are just about making the numbers work. Never mind whether or not you think you're prepared to get a mortgage or not -- let's face it, you'll never be REALLY ready. But that's okay. David was able to take my "surprise! guess I need a mortgage right now!" situation and make it feel like I'd been prepping for it for the last two years. It could not have been smoother. Luckily, my stepbrother used to be in the mortgage business in Lansing and referred us over to John at HomeLoans. Excellent recommendation, and we could not have been more pleased with the professionalism and service we received from John -- start to finish. From the very first interaction, I knew things would go smoothly. John has everything about the buying process/mortgage qualifications on lockdown. He's very familiar with the ins and outs of Michigan home buying. He's super responsive, especially via email...which was important to us as we were operating with a 5 hour time difference. He was always happy to chat via phone as well. My husband is a very tough mortgage customer (it pays to ask questions and be prudent, I suppose!) and John handled everything to his satisfaction, and then some. If you get 5-stars from Nick F (he promises to also write) it's really like 10 stars. Organized, efficient, professional and honest. Every step of the way things were handled so well, I almost couldn't believe it. I've had some nightmare mortgage brokers in the past that really soured me on the whole profession. John has reversed my thinking. I know I sound like an advert, but it's really true. It isn't that easy to find someone in this field that makes the process smooth and easier to digest, let alone...enjoyable!? In the end, we closed our "summer cabin" with very little difficulty (well, on the mortgage side of things, anyway!). John coordinated everything perfectly for a remote closing (not that easy) in the week between Christmas and New Years (even less easy), ran interference with the title company -- and really did us a solid. Would highly recommend him and this company, I have to believe his associates are of the same caliber though I cannot personally vouch. Recently we attempted to refinance with the lender that our mortgage went to when we first bought the house. And that was a nightmare!! The employees jerked us around, our processor refused to call us back when we reached out, she ended up quitting on us and the company as a whole gave us such a hard way to go where we ultimately were denied for the loan. The loan officer with the original lender told us to try a different lender (super professional for a lender to tell us to go elsewhere). We had no clue we could try a new lender so we reached out to Carolyn with low expectations due to being denied with our first attempt. I should also mention that we had been trying to refinance since January, where it was to soon (we had to have lived in our home for a year before attempting a refi) but it was weeks into the process before finding that out. So we tried again in May with the original lender, that carried on to August, and then of course we were denied. Carolyn reviewed all our info when we went to her and said she didn't see anything that would prevent us from being able to refi so we gave it a shot. This was in August and here we are in September waiting for the funds to be wired anytime now. She did such a fantastic job! It was pain free, she was so straight forward and honest every step of the way and it was so quick! It's an amazing feeling knowing your loan officer is on your side and is pushing for you. Compared to our last experience we were use to feeling like we didn't matter, and just a thorn in their sides.
