only been here once and wont go back. i had to park at far corner of WFM lot as there wasnt closer parking, i'm not keen on this normally but having a gout flare up this messed be up rest of day and next. when i mentioned to front desk staff on arrival that it cause a lot of pain, they seemed unconcerned. i wasnt able to communicate my allergies that are pintless to enter in charts as they wont be understood w/o context - this wasnt important for services i came for but could be in future. ,wasnt allowed or given opportunity to ask questions. the exam room was most uncomfortable ever even the dentist chair was uncomfortable. the dentist spent almost no time with me also wasnt able to ask him any questions, they were there to do dentistry, i was only there to bring my teeth and my wallet is how it felt. i can only imagine the horrible response if i had post procedure issue, concern or question. read more

Dr. Lew is amazing and so is his staff however if you need oral surgery a dentist names Zachary Meyer comes up from the valley to do the surgery. I had a bone graft done as first step to receiving an implant and he did the bone graft. He was very rough in the extraction of the tooth. He hit a nerve in my face and I could not close my right eye for hours then proceeded to tell me it was Bell's palsy. His bedside manner is extremely lacking. He let me leave the office with absolutely no post op instruction and no medication. I had to text his personal cell phone at 2 am and convince him that I was in so much pain and I needed something stronger. I went to an amazing local oral surgeon to finish the job. I will continue to go to flagstaff modern dentistry for all of my general dentistry needs but I will never let Dr. Meyer touch me again. read more

Absolutely amazing service. Felt genuinely cared for every step of the way! From the X-ray tech, to the hygienist Shanna, to the dentist Dr. Lew. The whole process was very streamlined. Got my x-rays, cleaning, and exam all done within 1 hour! No troubles with insurance or costs. Wish they offered some take home floss but other than that it was great! 1st impressions are everything. Called and made myself and my husband's appointment 2 1/2 weeks ago was told that I only needed to provide our medical insurance. A week ago got a phone reminder and again I asked if they needed both insurance cards my medical and dental. Once again I was told No that's not necessary but bring both cards to your appointment. Walked in at 9:17am our appointments were at 10am & 10:30am. We were told that we had a ton of paperwork to fill out so we need to arrive early so we did. We tried to check in and we were told umm you need to wait and sit down I'm all by myself there is 2 people in front of you. My husband told me that was kinda rude I told him that was. I told my husband we can check in online. So we checked in online and then about 7 mins later the lady at the front desk said that we can check in now. My husband said we already checked in online since you were busy. She said well I still need you to check in here. While she is checking us in she saids your co pay is $110 each and my husband said how is that possible when our dental insurance covers it all. After making a bunch of excuses she wanted us to cancel our appointment and I said no because we're not paying $200 for us to cancel our appointment.The lady at the desk said it's going to take 5 days for our insurance to verify our coverage. We're waiting to get called back and the lady who called me back got my name wrong and I said do you mean.... And she gave me a different look. The dental assistant Taylor came in she seemed nice but said that I had signs of gum disease and I told her no my mouth is recovering from a Celiac attack because I wasn't aware that I had Celiac Disease because it's been diagnosed as Gluten Intolerance. And Celiac Disease can cause swelling and inflammation on your gums. She told me that it's from lacking proper hygiene and poor brushing. The dentist Alexander Lew, DMD came in I told him what's going on and he checked and said I definitely don't have gum disease and I don't have any cavities at all. I told him I know that because I haven't had a cavity since I was 7 years old. And I've had braces twice. Once before my wisdom teeth came in and once after my wisdom teeth and shifted my teeth. He was the nicest person in that office. Taylor went into my husbands room told my husband the same thing she told me. The dentist my husband had him waiting in the chair for over an hour. Told my husband that he needed a special type of cleaning. He came out from the back and there are two lady's at the front desk now. And this lady gave him a dirty look after talking to the dentist and then was giving him attitude after he rejected to get the procedure done at the cost they gave to him. 1. How was she able to know our cost when the other lady told us she wouldn't be able to know for 5 days. 2. I didn't like how my husband and I were treated 3. I meant to do this review about a month ago but better late than never-right? I have found that with every appointment, I have been treated with friendliness and respect, and the wait time is almost nonexistent!! What a concept. I also had a bit of an emergency about a month ago and showed up unannounced, with no appointment. After discussing some options with Dr. Medina I was taken back to one of the patient rooms and helped right on the spot. Not having to make an appointment and wait a few days was, to me, unheard of. Waited for 30 minutes in the waiting room and 1 1/2 hours in the chair to have a not very thorough and painful cleaning... I scheduled their soonest available appointment one month prior as well. I felt forgotten and not well cared for. They kept saying sorry for the wait, and that they will be with me in five minutes (which ended up being 40 minutes), but weren't explaining to me at all why they were taking so long. Then finally, the cleaning was a mere 5 minutes of half hearted and painful scraping at my gums...did not feel welcomed as a patient there. Spent thousands for a root canal and crown and my tooth broke because it was not properly installed. Now my tooth needs to be removed and I have a crown that mr. lane said was improperly seated and he would redo free of charge but he probably ground it improperly so I would have to break my tooth. When I asked for a refund for the improperly installed crown I was promised I would get a phone call. That was 3 weeks ago. This place will do a quick root canal on a tooth then throw a half ass dentist at you with a mission to destroy your teeth in an effort to remove your teeth after they charge you thousands they will hit you up for another 5k for an implant. It's a shame you have to get an attorney to recover your money from dentist who screw up your teeth and take your money and then when he said he owes me a new crown just ignore calling me. read more

Three words... Go anywhere else! Pretty sure their motto is "Get 'em in, do as little as possible, get their money, and get 'em out." Terrible customer service, no personal interaction, sub-par dental work (they botched pulling a tooth of all things!!!)... and when I had to cancel and reschedule an appointment, the earliest they could get me in was 6-months later. How the heck can this place be so busy when they suck so badly. I went to a different dentistry office in town (OMG, it was a night and day difference), and they ignored several attempts by my dentist and then by me to have my records sent. I initially went there because they were one of only a few places that took my dental insurance; in hind sight, I should have gone anywhere else. My one star review is actually zero stars. read more

This practice seems to only concern themselves with money. Their communication is lacking, to say the least, but they are quick to pull the trigger on expensive and unnecessary procedures. They informed me after my first visit that I had three cavities in need of filling, but I had been under the care of a very honest dentist up until that point who informed me the spots needed to be watched, but weren't cause for fillings yet. I decided to have them filled just to be cautious. THEY ONLY WOULD FILL ONE AT A TIME DUE TO COMMUNICATION ERRORS BETWEEN THE FRONT OFFICE STAFF AND THE DENTISTS. This meant that I had to take off work 3 times, have three different shots and three episodes of discomfort. Today, they called and stated that I would need to make a decision on whether or not to keep my cleaning scheduled for 2 days out due to a massive snow storm. I said I would rather play it by ear, but they said that wasn't an option. I'm done with them. read more

Over priced. Required that I made multiple visits and said if I did not follow their required plan that I would have to find a new dentist. Co-pay for cleaning ended up almost $500 and they billed insurance over $2,500. They also over book appointments so customers have to wait a long time. read more

I am very disappointed. Staff was very friendly and I really liked going there. I had to get a crown and it was done about two years ago. One year later, I feel a gap on top of my crown with a lot of sensitivity. I go to my new dentist in California and he confirms that I had a gap. I asked him why and he said that they either inserted the crown incorrectly or they inserted it and didn't remove the cavity properly which kept growing. I am truly disappointed. I wasted about $800 for this crown and now I had to pay another $700 for my dentist to remove and replace the crown. I will never go back! What a rip off! read more

1 star is even too much for these people. This in regards to my dad paying out of pocket nearly 10k for 2 implants. They reassured him that that's all he would have to pay. Nothing else! Then a couple weeks ago we get another bill for $500. When I call they say "oh the insurance didn't cover it all." My father is 74yrs old. He takes people for their word. This Dentist Office Word Means NOTHING! Fast forward to today, we get a bill from a collection agency!! It's been 2 weeks that I've spoken to this office. The collection agency "reassured" me that it's not going to be on his credit report because it's in the early stages. However, they could not even provide me with a confirmation number for the payment that was made in full. Said "It takes our systems a couple hours to process check payments" Which was the only was we could pay. So not only do I have to call back in a couple hours to get a confirmation number, I have to then call back in 30 days to get documentation that it's been paid. Horrible how services providers in the Northern Arizona area treat older people. Horrible. read more

I had a crown done here a few years ago and it was not placed correctly on top of the tooth. The crown doesn't fit nicely over the tooth; there is a gap. I have to have it looked at by another dentist to see if it can be replaced. Ugh, worst experience in my life as they had to this crown twice at this place. First, they didn't get a cavity that was below the gum line so they had to take this crown off to get rid of the cavity. Then they finally put on a different crown but now it has a gap. The dentist is no longer at this place; go figure. read more

Worse dental experience I have ever had unfortunately. Had an 8am appt, arrived at 7:50am to give insurance info and fill out new patient info. Problem was, I am not a new patient, was there in 2019 & 2020 but they said they updated the system and purged the files. Ok. Then I wait almost an hour to be called back. As tech was taking my x-rays I noticed my prior history was on the computer screen. I asked how that was possible when the front desk said info was purged. Tech did not answer my question. Tech then takes me into another room for cleaning and again, I wait another 30 minutes. I decided this is nonsense and get up to leave when my "friendly" (sarcasm) tech informed me the doctor would be in within two minutes. Dr. arrives, very nice guy but obviously waaay overbooked as I could hear several techs telling him patient so and so, this and that and the poor guy was like a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. He cleaned my teeth as they only had one hygienist working. He did a very good job, no complaints about the good doctor. He leaves, happy tech comes back to polish my teeth. She does this as quickly as possible and waited until she was done to rinse and remove water and stuff from my mouth. Usually they do this several times to avoid drowning but, this tech had other ideas. Finally, over 2 hours later I am free to go. Receptionist up front who was very nice and friendly asks if I want to book another appointment in 6 months, I say I will call them. She then hands me my paperwork, calls me by a different name (?), and I hightail it outta there. Bottom line, typical corportate nonsesne, don't go. Doctors are good but rest of staff is very unfriendly and unprofessional. Though the receptionist was nice, she was also rather clueless. No one is on the same page in this office, in fact, I believe they threw out the book. read more

I went to possibly get my two front teeth restored I told them I didn't want to have my teeth drilled down to a stump and that there are different filling materials other then composite fillings that are more durable. The "Dr" said he didn't know what I was talking about that's when I knew this office wasn't as modern as they claim they need to get with the times. read more

With my comfort as the clear priority, the treatment created a tooth that matched the original in shape, color, and function. Very Expensive - Terrible Dentist - Run to anyone else. Dentist drilled into my nerve canal and then put a overlay on top without a Root Canal. Made me wait a week for the "pain to subside". It never did ... in fact got worse.Charged $1700 for 2 cavities and a overlay. Overlay and one cavity both got major infection. After a Week of horrible pain, Dentist said it would be another $ 3,500 to do 1 root canal, and I would need to wait for another week to get it. Ended up having to get 2 Root Canals on 2 of the 3 teeth he worked on, because he drilled too deep. New Dentist ask if I was sure this Dentist has a licence and is a real schooled Dentist. Been coming here for a couple of years. Not the greatest but we were new in town. Many times we make app. They do t honor them. They front ladies are very and absolutely ineffective. And rude. Today I made an app for a root canal. They offered a spot and we went. Well, they did t take me. They don't know who makes the appointments. Bad bad service. Will get a new de tier for sure. I was able to get in quick here for an appointment due to experiencing a large amount of pain. This and the ability to quickly schedule the subsequent removal of my 4 wisdom teeth were the only benefits I experienced. Due to their oral surgeon being a only available twice per month there were no scheduled follow ups to track healing progress. On top of this I was quoted $500 for 2 wisdom teeth removal or $1000 for 4, with my insurance. I choose the 4 tooth removal. During the procedure they opted to only remove 3 due to one tooth growing too close to a sinus. By my math, the charge was $250 per tooth. I was on their payment plan and called to adjust but was only offered a $69 discount with no clarification. In my Percocet heightened sense I didn't protest. But over the course of the 3 month payment plan was charged the same amount as quoted for the 4 tooth removal. I have called several times and left messages with no response. I will not do business with this company again. read more

So incredibly impressed with this Dentist! Every single person we came into contact with from the initial phone call to the xray tech, hygienist, and doctor was absolutely fabulous. They got my son in same day on an emergency visit even though we were brand new patients and hadn't been seen yet. The front desk went the extra mile to make sure my insurance was approved and got me the best deal possible. And best of all, we were in and out in less than an hour - unheard of for an emergency visit!! Flagstaff Modern Dentistry is awesome. The staff is so friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have. They adjust their hours knowing that it can be hard to make a mid-day appointment, so they open early on some days and stay open late some days. There is no discrepancy with cost, you know exactly what is owed prior to your appointment and they even calculate cost for future appointments.
