I found Dr. Darlington's bedside manner to be a bit lacking. I've had several fillings and crowns here, and he never let the lidocaine set in for long enough before starting, despite my request for a longer wait after numbing. The general theme of my care there was a significant amount of discomfort and pain. General cleanings consisted of him inquiring of any pain or discomfort, doing a quick exam and exiting to let the hygienists take over. Disclaimer: I don't have perfect dental hygiene but I try to take care of my teeth and like most people forget to floss. In December '15 I had a crown placed by this office due to sensitivity when biting down which he diagnosed as a crack. The procedure was awful and I wasn't given enough time to get numb. The sensitivity never really did go away and I switched to a new dentist in March '16. In July 2016, I woke up to 10/10 pain in the tooth. I spent the week in a narcotic coma and taking lots of antibiotics and steroids. I work in healthcare on nights and I cannot miss work, as there is simply no one to cover for nights if you get sick. I had to call out 1 shift due to all this, thankfully a coworker covered for me or I would have had to go to work with all that pain. A second set of x-rays showed a large area of infection around and in the tooth. It needed a root canal and when the old crown came off, half the tooth had rotted away and the cavity was a hair away from the tooth pulp. It was pretty gruesome looking. Apparently this all could have been avoided by properly diagnosing the problem in the first place. There was never a crack. Dr. Darlington's front office staff was very nice and I will be getting a refund for the co-pay for the first crown. I hate to make disparaging comments against anyone, but I feel my experience was poor enough that I should caution anyone with sensitive or problem ridden teeth. Sorry Dr. D. I found the work and bedside manner to be slapdash. Not good when dental care is already a dread for most people. read more

My husband and I have been patients here for years and we have no plans of going to anyone else. He's nice but extremely quiet so it takes some getting used to. His receptionist Jen is so nice and empathetic. My husband and I tend to get issues on a Wednesday night or Thursday of a holiday weekend and they always manage to take care of us before they leave for the holiday. Just the one thing to know is that they are closed on Fridays but they have an on call dentist available for established patients. I am terrified of the dentist but between their kindness and their laughing gas I make it through. read more

I would not recommend this dentist. Didn't even greet me. After the procedure, he just left and I never saw him again. No aftercare explanation. I've never had any problems in the right side of my mouth. No sensitivity or anything. Dr. D recommended that I get three fillings. Now I have extreme and constant pain in all of those teeth and need 3 root canals. He preformed a crown... couldn't get the temporary to fit... the permanent one had to be filed down so much that it's mostly just a nub. Really impersonal and just seemed to do more damage to my teeth than good. read more

Avoid this place at all costs. I came in for a cleaning and to get a chipped tooth fixed. Someone I knew recommended this place to me so I figured I'd make an appointment. My cleaning and exam was alright - or so I thought. After Dr. Darlington checked out my teeth and gums, the cleaning followed. Alright so far. Then I came back to get my chipped tooth fixed. Still alright. Until I went to another dentist shortly after seeing Dr. Darlington after experiencing a bit of sensitivity in one of my teeth. Turns out not only did I have eight cavities and gum inflammation but to fix my chip, Dr. Darlington ignored a cavity and repaired the chip without filling it first. We were out of town when my daughter fell and broke both front teeth. Calling around for dentists on out insurance to see if soneone vould jyst take an xray and everyone was too busy until we called Dr darlington's office. Jennifer from front desk said of course and can you come now. Got us right in and Dr Darlington made sure she was okay! So nice and friendly and helpful, do we could get back on the road. ;) would recommend to anyone! read more

Worst dentist I have ever been to. The appointment from start to finish was a max of ten minutes. He did not look at my gums or clean my teeth thoroughly. He didn't even do Flouride! I was shocked at how terrible this place was. there was one guy who came in for a tooth getting pulled and said he didn't know why or what tooth was being pulled! Terrible practice. Do not go here, they will not take good care of you. read more

Recently saw Dr. Scott Darlington for the first time. It was the best experience I have ever had with a dentist. He is personable and conservative with treatment plans. He does not recommend expensive procedures unless he is sure that it is needed. I typically feel a fair amount of anxiety at the dentist office, but not in this one! The entire staff was fantastic. I actually look forward to going back for my follow up appointment. read more

While on a road trip, at the Grand Canyon I had a dental emergency and could not locate a dentist that could take care of the problem that day. Scott A Darlington's office in Flagstaff got me in promptly and went out of their way to not only take care of the problem but treated us as welcome visitors to their community. read more

So, I went here to get a check up because i hadn't been to a dentist in a while so i was definitely expecting to have some cavities. When i got here, it took forever to get taken back and then i felt as though literally nothing was done that is typically done at the dentist. the cleaning was pretty terrible compared to other dentists and then i was told i had no cavities which was awesome! about a month later i had to go to a different dentist to get checked prior to getting my wisdom teeth taken out. at this dentist i was informed that i had 10 cavities!!! and that they had been there for a while. so, i'm really confused as to how Dr. Darlington missed all 10 of those? seems kind of ridiculous. anyway, on top of all of that, Dr. Darlington tried to bill me for 150 dollars for literally nothing. i got a terrible cleaning and was lied to about my cavities. I was absolutely not going to pay that. Then they tried to argue with me about the charges and how the cavities probably came later which is ridiculous to even try to say i got 10 cavities in a month, but also i was informed they had been there FOR A LONG TIME. Nice try though. After this experience i informed my roommate who had also seen Dr. Darlington and low and behold turns out, she too had cavities she wasn't told about. I would NOT under any circumstances recommend this place. just terrible. clearly he doesn't even know how to dentist. read more

My family has had the best experience with Dr. Darlington and his staff since we started going there almost two years ago give or take. From the time I walked in to the time I walked out it was nothing but a positive experience and atmosphere. Everyone, there made us feel like we matter, not like we were just a paycheck to them. The first time in went in was for an infected tooth. I was given a same day appointment immediately , when I walked in I was greeted with a smile taken back and received exceptional care. Every time I call or go in I am asked how are the kids and how is the grandbaby. I have never felt so comfortable as I do there. Dr. Darlington even came in to see me on his day off. My mother in law needed new dentures and at that time didn't accept her insurance they went out of there way to get the ball rolling to have her as a new patient.
