Well it's been 3 years since my original review, and nothing has changed. I have never heard from, saw him on the street once, but I was driving the opposite direction, so there was no way I could confront him. If you notice he hasn't had a review in over 3 years, I don't even think he is in business anymore. My current plumber who I have used for years now has talked to me about Fiz plumbing and their horrid reputation, 1/2 done repairs, ghosting people on appointments. Leaving people in bad situation that waste everyone's time and often makes the damage worst, because he says he coming but never shows. I didn't want to say this originally, because I thought maybe he would reply to this review or get in contact, but that obviously isn't going to happen, but as someone who has dealt with a tweaker/meth users. He comes off as someone who uses, I even asked him if he was in A/A or N/A when he kept talking about how he found God and preaching about it was his mission to do good by people, after he had hit rock bottom. If you look at the other reviews, he always pulls the same thing, he doesn't show and if you get a hold of him, it's always some crazy scenario of why he missed the appointment, or he just plain and simple stops taking your calls. I honestly think he gets messed up and just doesn't want to show, because he rather continue doing what he is doing at the time. read more

We hired this company to fix one toilet. The guy that was here convinced us to replace our old toilets. Long story short-- Toilets are already falling apart after less than a month of installation. We rescheduled for someone to come fix them and nobody showed up. No one is answering their phones. We had toilets that lasted for 17 years without a problem, and these new ones are falling apart. A representative of Fiz came to my house yesterday found a leaky pipe and scheduled with us to come out and fix it next day 9-9:30am. Well here we are at 10:15am and they never showed. So I called asking what was up and they said oh yeah we got caught up at another job but we are on our way. As a business owner myself, I make sure that if my employees are late for any reason that they get a call BEFORE the appt time to let them know what's going on and keep them updated. I needed to replace a section of my mainline because of root damage. Fiz was able to work with me for pricing (very affordable compared to Roto Rooter) and he helped throw in a few other services (helped with a dishwasher air gap). After running into issues with another plumber that was trying to up sell my fiance and I on a job I called into Fiz Plumbing. My first impression was a bit shaky - I called and Frank answered on speaker phone. It was hard to hear what he was saying but after a few minutes he took me off speaker and explained the whole situation to me. His van had broken down and he wasn't going to be able to make it out to help us that night. He then offered to call one of his techs to have the job done that night (for $85). Let me be the first to say this if it hasn't already been said - In all honesty Frank and his crew TRULY care about customer service. Alfredo reached out too me at about 6 pm. His truck was in the shop getting the brakes fixed but as soon as it was done - he said he would be right on his way to find the root of our problems. He got to the house at about 815 and within 20-30 minutes had the drain unclogged. He was extremely thorough and helped my fiance and I understand everything that was going on. After unclogging the drain he had us start up the diswasher to make sure the drain didn't back up again. He also told us the root of the whole problem which was our main is only two inches thick that we couldn't run our dishwasher and our washing machine at the same time. That it was the reason behind the overflow and clog into our shower/bath. Nevertheless FIZ Plumbing has a lifetime customer. Our main line was backed up so we called a plumber. The first guy that came out spent 2 hours trying to fix the problem, but he couldn't so he left. The best plumber around! I had 3 previous plumbers come to my house to fix a leak in my bathroom with no success. I was getting frustrated and losing my trust on all plumbers. Part I - Frank fixed it! I was in a bind. While visiting my parents in Downey I discovered there was no hot water. They have this ancient tankless water heater that has always been trouble. Having flown 3500 miles for this visit, believe me, I needed a shower...a hot shower. I called Frank at about 7 am on a Tuesday morning, he answered the phone, listened to my complaining (I'd tried 2 or 3 other plumbers only to get answering services), and said he'd be over in about an hour. Good to his word he arrived as promised, took a look at this ridiculous water heater (really, he didn't laugh too much) and had me back in hot water within 20 minutes. He and his helper, Chris, were very pleasant and polite. They told me I needed a part replaced, gave me the website to order it from and told me to call him when I received it. He left and didn't charge me a dime! Part 2 - So, now I'm back in Florida, the part came, and I contacted Frank to let him know. Chris called me back saying he'd be at my parents house in about an hour. I just called my mom and she said Chris and a helper were there and they couldn't have been more polite, "yes ma'am, no ma'am, thank you ma'am, all the way. As you can imagine, not being there to finish helping my elderly parents with this transaction was a bit of a concern, but I have to tell you the whole process couldn't have been more professional AND pleasant. First of all, the guy forgot about my appointment and told me he'll come right after he is done with the previous job, which I didn't mind. Finally when he got to my house start working on the drain, he said the snake head was to big to fit so he had to charge me more money just to get the smaller snake head, which I agreed to it since he was already here.Then he said he will come the next day since he had to get the snake head, so I said it was fine then. Idk maybe the guy knows what he's doing.but when we had a gas leak we called him.his guys did the detection, charged us 250$, claimed it was fixed, turned out it wasn't.so we called him back, they did more work, claimed it was fixed again, tried charging us around 800$ when it turns out it wasn't fixed.AGAIN! Now why would we pay that amount of money when they didn't do what they said- fixed the leak?.they came back again looked around and said they couldn't find a leak, and that all our pipes would need to be replaced and he would be obliged to do it for the going rate of 6000$!!.after all that we decided it was best to get a 2nd opinion.these plumbers found the leak right off the bat, turns out yes SOME of our pipes were bad, not ALL! Needed my floor drains cleaned out for my business in Cudahy. Contacted Fiz based on Yelp reviews. John and Frank are very friendly and both came out to assess the job. They planned to hydro-clean the drains and offered to send a camera down to check things out. Quote $400. Scheduled an appointment and they didn't show up. I called 2 days later and they were very apologetic. Frank came out and explained that his van and tools were stolen but he could start with the tools he had and his other truck would come by and finish the job. Nobody showed up and after waiting 30 minutes, I repeatedly tried to call Fiz. I kept getting their voicemail and I could not leave any message because the mailbox was full. I ended up having to scramble and find someone else at the last minute. It was an unnecessarily stressful experience. After I left a text message, I finally received a reply the next day saying he had some emergency to attend to. I contacted Frank regarding a water main leak at my home in Downey, explaining I wanted the line replaced with hard (type L) copper. Frank asked some questions and following my answers, was able to provide an estimate for the job. He said he would be on site the next morning. Right on time, Jose showed up to start the work and informed me Frank would be over soon. Frank arrived and looked at the site, took measurements and headed off to get the materials. Jose continued preparing the trench from the house side while I willingly pitched in from the street side (many hands make short work.) by the time we had the trench ready, Frank was back with the materials and they started laying it out. Watching Frank and Jose joining the pipes was like a work of art, the best soldering I have ever seen. Frank and Jose sleeved the new pipes to protect them from the elements and finished a couple of hours sooner than I expected. They pressurized the line, performed a leak test (there weren't any), and we began back filling the trench. Frank had to head out to another site and said he would stop back by to ensure I was satisfied. I was, and when Frank presented the bill, it turned out to be less than originally estimated. This review is way over due. I was going on vacation & the day before I'm leaving the main water line broke from my house. There was water gushing into the street. :( In a panic I called a plumber I had heard of on the radio. I was charged just for them to drain the water from the meter & assess the issue. Frank is an amazing plumber and just an overall a great guy very energetic and he will do what he can to fix the problem. This is the second time I called him for help the first time I meet him I called him so he can connect a water line for my fridge and he said no problem he can do it. Very knowledgeable about his craft telling me about the copper piping and and what each of the different colors means and which is better to use. Second my shower knob was loose and I didn't know why but frank came and worked his magic and bomb the knob was stripped making it loose. It's difficult to find honest plumbers. Our last plumber was deemed as the "best plumber" our contractor knew. When Fiz Plumbing came out he showed us that the last plumber did sub par work. The last plumber didn't bolt on the shower handle plate, only caulked it to keep it on. Are you serious!? When I called Fiz in the morning, I explained that I was unable to find the cartridge that was needed to fix our problem so he recommended Plumbing World in Long Beach. Sure enough I found the part. He then said he would call us to see if we still needed him to come out. I ended up calling him because we wanted the work done right. He came out fixed our problem and corrected the issue left by the last plumber and charged a reasonable price. Great guys, great sense of humor, and very honest.
