A little over a week ago I had my brand new motorcycle leather riding vest dropped off at Stitch it…read more, in the Georgian Mall , Barrie to have my 4 patches sewn on. Before dropping my vest off I measured perfectly,placed , and pinned the patches exactly where I wanted them . I thought I made their job easy , all they had to do was sew it in place . But to my surprise when I picked up my vest after Stitch it was done , they moved my patches and they sewed them on crooked and out of line left to right and up and down . I had the girl measure the out of line patches in front of me , she doesn't understand why they sewed it on like that . I asked her to call the manager, I got a full reimbursement on the sewing , and they are going to try to fix it but now my brand new leather vest may be full off holes from the wrong placement of the patches . I hope to here from Stitch it Corporate to have my vest replaced or paid for because of their poor workmanship. At this point I do not recommend Stitch it Barrie to anyone !

They removed the patches and resewed them on , the rear are now straight and Centered but the back of my new leather vest is full of holes from where they originally sewed the patches on crooked and off Center. The front patches are now leveled with each but off Center with each other , and holes where the top patch originally was . I was fully refunded the cost of having the patches sewn on but now my brand new leather vest is damaged. Customer service did email me and apologized but I haven't been able to contact them back to see what they are going to do to compensate me for my damaged vest . Hopefully I hear back soon !

When I complained I was told they do not have the buttonhole attachment to do the job properly so the "seamstress" cut the sleeve shorter and hemmed the sleeve. I was handed two buttons as extra to take home. The lining of the sleeve is not closed up properly with two holes on each side. If one is looking for quality workmanship this is not the place. The manager used pins to secure the bottom of my leather pants and put several pin size holes in my pant. The quality of work is comparable to quality by inexperienced high school homec students. Very poor quality work. Not suitable for high quality garments!

The dress fits like a glove, she fixed exactly what I had asked and even went an extra step with extending the button loops to make it easier to put on. I got SO many compliments as the dress fit like a glove. Second best part is that it was very affordable. I'm new to the area and was so nervous to find a trustworthy shop to go to. I'm so glad I found this place.

Unprofessional Attitude and Atrocious Quality of Work…read more Brought 1 out of 4 bridesmaid dresses in to request a quote-only in the first visit and was given an invoice at the end of the appointment without my consent. Because the price was reasonable, I figured we wouldn't get a better one anywhere else and the lady seemed nice, if a little condescending. She seems to like to call people Hun and Sweetie. I don't personally like that but I overlooked it and we left the first dress with them, with their confirmation that the other dresses would be quoted exactly the same. 2 more of the dresses went in over the next week and the 4th dress made it there about a week and a half or two weeks after the first dress went in. The fourth dress was priced more than double what the other girls were paying for the exact same alterations. I was not there unfortunately so my bridesmaid paid it and called me about it later. She was told that this was their new pricing and the other three must have gotten a special deal. We were not given a special deal, the prices of the first three dresses matched their website pricing exactly. I called them and was then told she would be reimbursed when she went in to pick the dress up after alterations were done. We were told they would all be ready by June 15th - three weeks after the first dress went in. The beginning of July came and we still hadn't received a call. My wedding was July 11th and they knew this. When I called to ask about the status one girl mentioned they hadn't even been touched but they would be ready by the end of the day. That was not overly comforting. During one of the girls' fittings, her fiancé overheard the Sewing House staff insulting our dresses openly. When we finally had the dresses picked up, the stitching was terrible. It was falling apart, it wasn't even, it was inconsistent and it looked like a five year old had done it. Two of the dresses had massive holes where the shoulders had been stitched by the time they were brought home and being hung in the closet, one of the dresses was hemmed over an inch too short and the stitching at the back made the skirt pucker - making it even shorter. Three of the dresses had to be returned once, two of them had to be returned twice because they could not fix their errors and just to keep the fun going, one of these two dresses wasn't ready until the day before my wedding and still had a hole in it and broken stitching. There was no apology, no compensation for how terribly everything went and when we calmly addressed our dissatisfaction with them in person they just stared at us blankly and didn't say a thing. We had the last dress that was still not in good order in front of them, and they had nothing to say as they were staring at a hole in the dress they should have fixed weeks ago. I have never seen such a lack of care. Ive met Tim Hortons employees with more passion for their jobs than these lazy hens. If you want to take the risk here, that is on you. But I can never ever recommend anyone go here for any reason. I had my own wedding gown in with an absolutely wonderful seamstress in Barrie who advised me that Sewing House are not skilled professionals and they simply know how to do a pant hem but anything beyond that shouldn't be taken there. She wasn't bashing them and actually she was quite reluctant to speak ill of another seamstress but she told me the truth and said she gets their screw ups all the time and has to fix their poor quality of work regularly.

It was the week between Christmas and New Years. December 26th. She said she would call me when it was done. I waited and waited. I finally got so upset, I emailed her. to my astonishment, she made excuses, lost my contact info, sickness etc. I just wanted to pick up my stuff. Anyway, Today is February 24 - 8 weeks later, I just got my sewed things back. I am the owner of a few small businesses like that and if I treated my customers like that, I would have none. I pursue my customers and make them happy and call them when my work is done so that I can get paid. I am now looking for another seamstress. Do NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS WOMAN!!!

I was not informed that the garment was ruined beyond repair. I was not contacted at all. I picked up the item, paid and once home saw the condition. Inside the jacket the small red tag hung stating the item could not be cleaned as not to damage the coat. However it obviously was cleaned and damaged. This is very poor professional practice. A customer is entitled to communication about this kind of situation.
