Willards should be ashamed of themselves....but they won't be because they are shady and have dragged Top Gun down to the gutter with them. I've had nothing but negative interactions with them since they sold, but I keep trying to give them a chance because of how awesome they used to be. I'll just address the latest one. I called them out to service my mini split. The Top Gun tech that came out was great. But couldn't find the problem because of course the mini split started acting right when he came out. A few weeks later, it started making a noise while it was off. I called again and they sent a guy from Willards. This guy (I won't say his name) told me that my levels (that were just checked a few weeks prior) were low. I said how is that possible. He said there's a leak and it would cost over $800 to find it. So I called the office to complain and the office called him. Mysteriously, the levels "returned to normal". I told the office I didn't feel comfortable with this guy, but they assured me everything was fine and let him complete the work and they'd give me $50 off for the "confusion". This guy proceeds to take my mini split apart and says that my fan was caked with dust (it was) and needed to be cleaned. I asked him to clean it and he says that he doesn't work on mini splits and doesn't feel comfortable doing it. Ummm then why was he touching it in the first place! So, I called the office back, they said they'd send a mini split specialist out on Thursday. Thursday comes and goes and no one shows up. I called Thursday night, talked to what I think was an answering service who said they'd have someone call me Friday. No call. Today, I called again. Now it's some AI answering system answering the phone. The system said they'd have someone call back. Again...no call. I'm livid. This once great company sold out when they sold and now I can't stress enough to stay away at all costs. The original Top Gun techs were awesome and you could count on them. The ones remaining need to leave before Willard's damages their reputation like they did Top Guns. It's very sad what has happened to them. Instead of simply proposing a 1 to 1 replacement, Tyler listened carefully to our issues and came up with a great solution that would increase airflow, reduce humidity, and potentially save on utilities. His proposal would remove both the upstairs and downstairs units and install a variable speed single zoned system with a dehumidifier. Tyler's solution was less expensive than our other finalist, and very competitive with the other bids. Every question was answered quickly and thoroughly. In the end, however, there were some specific things about the thermostat that the other option handled better for our needs, though most people would probably not notice. Even after I let Tyler know we were choosing another company, he was very professional and advised us on a technical detail. I would highly recommend you talk with Tyler when it's time for a new system.

9/1 - Used the company a few times. Had a plenum installed. Had a new return vent put in. The price…read moreis fair and reasonable. The last project completed was having a new supply vent installed in my son's room. But I do notice a big issue. The vent feels hot and I can feel hot air around the vent. It appears the new vent is not insulated correctly or I have a leaky duct. Also, the box is not secured. It moves around. I give the company credit for attempting to fix a few things but overall won't be using them again. I need to look for another company to diagnose the hot vent and warm air inside the vent. I checked all my vents and this is the only vent with the hot air inside. Hot air should not be coming through a vent that is turned off. 9/15 - I have spent hours in the attic trying to troubleshoot the hot air leaking in the bedroom. The boot is not sealed. I will attempt to see it will something and prevent hot air from getting in. This whole project has been a big headache. I wish I just left my system as it was and not hired this company to touch it. I didn't want to give 1 star because they attempted to resolve the issues but the techs take a lot of shortcuts and don't do the job right. Very nice techs and sincere but I'm not just not happy with the quality of work. 1. Not happy with the placement of the return and supply ducts. 2. I've had to call another company to replace the boot on supply vent this weekend. They will be moving the location of the supply vent because it is flush against a 2X4. Just a bad location. The supply vent was also not seal properly or screwed down in any way. You could literally pull in out without the vent grill. 3. I have spent maybe 9 hours in my attic just with other techs discussing changes they recommend. 4. I had to hang up ductwork just left hanging on the ground or in odd locations. There was also ductwork on top of my system. I had to fix that too. 5. With all the money spent, my static pressure is still not in the ideal range. I've had 2 other companies measure it. That is another project I need to tackle later in the future. I'm sorry my experience was not great overall but I hope yours is great. 9/25 - I had few HVAC techs stop by and found more issues. The ductwork used is such poor quality that hot air is leaking is my sons room because of the ductwork falling apart. One tech said it looks like leftover from a job or something found in a dumpster. I have been quoted $300 to $700 just to replace the ductwork. Also, I found leaky ducts from the last TruClimate job. I fixed those myself with mastic and tape. Otherwise this company would have cost me even more money. My thoughts, if you hire this company check the work when they are done. I am very close to just disputing the amount charged by this company to undo all the problems this company did.

I called several places who only wanted to sell me a new unit at a very high price. Tim, the owner of American Home Heating and AC, stopped by our home and checked out the system. He explained all of our options from least expensive to most expensive. No other company did this for us. We chose to go the least expensive route, replacing the low R22 freon with the new R422d freon. We will use American Home Heating and AC when this unit needs to be replaced.
