My old boiler is about 65 years old. My 2nd floor radiators where not getting hot. The 2nd floor…read morewas always cold in my house. In the past, I had called 2 different heating companies to look at the boiler in my house. Both companies said my boiler was working fine, but yet my 2nd floor was still cold. I had called Lawerence plumbing to look at my furnace. Lawerence plumbing sent 2 technicians, Sam and Ed. It only took 5 minutes and they found the problem. The PSI in the water system was only at 5 Lbs, when it should have been at 15 Lbs. The valves that controls the water pressure in the boiler was corroded and stuck. The boiler system was old, and several other valves were also in need of replacement. Surprisingly, they were able to replace the old worn-out parts without breaking other parts. That's always the fear of working on old plumbing, things tend to snowball. They had to replace some bleeder valves on two of the radiators also. To make a long story short, Sam and Ed did a terrific job fixing my boiler. They were able to restore heat to my 2nd-floor without costing me a small fortune. If I ever need a plumber again, I will gladly call Lawerence Plumbing. They did a terrific job at an honest price. If I do call them again, I hope they send Sam & Ed again. I…read morehappened to notice a lot of people praising Max C Smith for their professionalism, efficiency and honesty on a Reddit thread so gave them a call, and a technician came out later that same day. He ran the serial number and saw the unit was 17 years old, diagnosed that I had an issue with the compressor which was probably about to die, and should likely start comparison shopping for a new unit. He offered to send a salesman out the next day to take a better look at the overall job that would need to be done and provide an estimate; his initial ballpark was anywhere between $6,000 and $9,000. The salesman came out promptly the next day and was very professional and well-informed, having previously been in the field himself. He took his time explaining and provided estimates for two possible units, one under 6000, one under 7000. He sent me all electronic paperwork related to the estimate on the spot; again, very professional. At the end of the day I would have been extremely comfortable going with them to replace the unit, which did end up dying completely within the next day, but ended up getting my socks knocked off with a lower quote from another AC company I've used in the past for the same, lower end unit. That said, I would not hesitate to recommend and use this company and its technicians in the future. Thank you for the excellent and quick service.
