We came across Five Star Pizza in Ocala. We looked up reviews and prices, and they seemed good, so we decided to try it. As we walked in the door, one of the employees was walking toward us with a leaf blower. Much to our surprise, he stopped at the end of the counter right inside the door and proceeded to use the leaf blower inside the restaurant to blow the dirt from the order area in the direction of the kitchen. We ordered this after stopping for the night. Delivery took about a standard 45 minutes. We didn't get pizza, but what we did get was pretty good. I was impressed by the salad. Very big and lots of toppings for the price. They only have Italian, ranch, or honey mustard for dressing, but it's a pizza place, so to be expected. The oven baked subs aren't really subs. They are more similar to calzones. Pepperoni rolls were very good. Just basic cheese and pepperoni rolled in dough. Overall, nothing special, but pretty good cheap, fast food. read more

Once you walk in you're immediately hit with the smell of the delicious pizzas being made freshly every day. My family and I tried out their 16" cheese pizza and let me remind you folks, I was a little skeptical because a guy from New York trying out of state pizza? Fuggetitaboutit! Tldr: solid food all around, and would come back If you are stopping off at Ocala along your drive and want a quick, but very tasty pizza, wings, hot sandwich , or pepperoni roll fix, this is a great option. We tried pepperoni rolls, pizza, hot wings, and an Italian sandwich on this stop. The pizza is American style hand tossed, and I thought it was much tastier than the chain delivery places. The sandwich was baked through the pizza oven as well, and was like almost like cross between calzone and panini. My kids loved the hot wings , which I believe were also sent through the pizza oven, and they can be pretty picky sometimes. The hot buffalo sauce was about what you'd expect and not super spicy for "hot" (maybe similar to heat level of Frank's hot sauce). It is the kind of place that you order at the counter and they bring it out. They have outdoor seating on a patio if the weather is fine. The staff was friendly. One thing I'll say is do not listen to Apple Maps ; it had no idea where the store actually is in this shopping center. It is in the corner by Dick's sports. Enjoy! read more

I'm from out of town, I wasn't expecting anything great but I was pleasantly surprised when I opened this box of pizza. First it looked great, second it was perfectly cooked and it tasted amazing. The pizza dough was absolutely fresh, a perfect amount of crispiness, and the inside of the dough was soft. Being from Philadelphia, I've been to New York, Boston, New Jersey, and other places that make good pizza, this place definitely holds its own. This is a bright clean store with lots of TVs and outdoor dining area for those beautiful days. I'm a bit disappointed in their small buffet though. I am a regular customer to this place. That being said I usually order the same thing every time. They kn w me! Anyway last night in order my usual and the sent out pizza so spicy my son could not eat it. When I complained, the manager was to busy to talk to me or even care. They don't even ask to remake it! Worst customer service experience. Ordered pizza, garlic knots, and salad for pickup. My boyfriend picked up the order and partially his fault didn't realize the salad was missing until he got home, but he was never given the salad. I called to say my salad was missing and the guy on the phone says oh yeah do you want to come pick it up? Well I had paid cash, So I at least needed my money back. I then had to drive an extra 20 mins because they missed part of the order and now I can't even enjoy the pizza. Little remorse and no compensation. I visited Five Star with my family and everyone loved the buffet. They offered many types of pizza, ziti, cheesy bread, cinnamon bread, and a salad bar with fresh ingredients. The staff was so friendly and made sure we were satisfied with everything. I also saw people picking up Piezillas which looks like it could feed 20 people!
