Certainly not 5 star worthy. My husband was trying to get quotes as any normal person would to make sure they are getting an honest price and the person who picks up the phone didn't care for it. He hung up and essentially said forget the business. Horrible attitude, and I wouldn't trust someone who has a bad attitude to do honest work. read more

I just purchase a new battery for car but need them to install. I pull in 15 min before closing and the guy installs it for me and then I tried to give him some money he refused. He did it for free. Good luck finding another place like this in Orange County. I did have major repair 3 years ago and paid around $1300, where every other place was quoting me $4000. Not so sure why this place has so many negative reviews but my personal experience with them was great. I got into a car accident and was introduced by the lawyer to fix my car here. Mr. Tin was very nice and friendly. He even showed me how to drive the rental car because well, a girl who had never drive a brand new 2021 car won't even know how to start the engine LOL The fixing process went smooth. Got my car back within a week. The inside and back were not messy which shows that they didn't touch or do anything. My car looks brand new now. This place was great when Mr Bich was still working here. After he left, the new guys suck. I brought my cars in for oil change and tune up a few times. The last time I brought my car in for tune up and oil change, I pulled up, wore my mask, after I got out of the car, the 3 guys chatting and joking there totally ignored me. At first I thought they were not working there (also not wearing masks), but it turned out 2 guys out of 3 are employees. I finally FOLLOWED and waved real hard at him to get their attention. They were talking about what to get for lunch. He looked at me and asked "What do you want?" I then told him I wanted my car get checked up and an oil change. He rudely said "OK, after this car." pointing at the car Mr Tin (new manager) was working on. Mr Tin was wearing mask btw. I asked him "Do you know how long approximately will it take to finish that car?". He gave me a long look and answered: "I said After This Car." I told him forget about it and check your attitude. I hope the manager who was working about 15 feet away heard what I said. Then I walked to my car, backed out and drove away. There are many other options, people. Don't come here - unless you are craving for this kind of rude treatment. Even if you are craving for these special treatments, there are also other places, and they do wear masks. read more

DO NOT!!! First I got a 2001 Honda Odyssey for these guys to work on a transmission job which replaced a whole transmission. Got it back & drove around 2 miles & while idling in line at IN & OUT till my turn to move Surprisingly the car revved to 2500rpm but barely moved any way I was able to get my burger & got out of that line with the awkward look from the crowd. Car goes back to their shop..., got fixed. I gave them some trusses for that. Then a few months later my BMW had a radiator leak problem, brought it to them (so regretted that I did) They replaced a bunch of stuff & the total cost was close to $1K. Pricing was not an issue here but took them (3) months, to take the car back and forth, I lost count of how many times not to mention each time they would hold the car from 1-2 weeks & every time each one of them would take their turn to greet and promises me the NEW solution they would try including the shop owner name TIN. THE SIMPLE PROBLEM NEVER FIXED & I finally gave up on these "CLOWNS" without a red penny back in return. Now, why did I say SIMPLE PROBLEM above?!?! I took my car to another shop with one older gentleman as the Owner took him (2) days to redo the almost identical parts & work that those "Sloppy Grease Monkey" @ "FIVE STAR AUTO REPAIR" did their half-ass jobs. The new mechanic did more work/parts than those clowns but charged me a little less. PS: My car is now back to normal. read more

Ladies Beware! I was taken for a ride down Rip off lane! I took my car in due to a slow start, they said to leave it for 2 days. I left it, 2 hours later they said it was the battery, I needed a New one. I paid $200 for the so called new battery. The next day I noticed it was a used battery from Mexico. I tried calling Haun to retrieve my old battery 'cause it was a BMW battery that goes w/my car...he said it's too late he would have to pay more money to get it back. Got an estimate to fix my air for $500, then I drove to Tin at Five Star and they fixed it for $140 and I bought the part for $40, so total $180 !!! We should quit complaining? I also had an issue with my ignition key not starting 2003 Toyota Truck, so I called South Coast Toyota and they gave me an estimate of $1,100.00. I called Four Star and they bid it at $140 labor and I bought the cylinder with keys from O'Rilleys for $90, Total $230 Quit complaining or take your vehicle to a Dealership and get their estimate first? read more

They did a big job on my Toyota 4Runner, the timing belt. That can be $1000 at a lot of places. They did it for much less. They let me get the parts on the internet and just charged for labor. They offered a very good warranty. They finished the job exactly when they said they would and even gave me a ride home when I dropped off the car. I'm so happy to have an honest and reliable mechanic close by. That is such a good thing. read more

Terrible service! Safe yourself a headache and a bad time. I went in to get my rear brake pads changed. I came in to pick up my car and the guy said front brake pads had been changed. I let him know that wasn't correct and all he said was "sorry bro". Sorry bro? No plan to rectify the mistake, just moved on ahead and charged me for work I didn't ask for. I have never step foot in such an unprofessional establishment, terrible from beginning to end; never again will I make that mistake again! I LOVE and TRUST these guys to the fullest!!! It's always hard to find a trustworthy car repair/ mechanic especially being a female, they tend to pull a fast or just get more out of you slowly but surely. Not these guys!!! They're direct, honest, and straight to the point. They've even turned down work I thought I needed because they said that it wasn't necessary for my particular year and make. I came here on accident thinking it was an auto shop I had a coupon for, and when I was about to leave I decided to let them do the work on my car because I was tired of searching. The mechanics were extremely helpful and friendly and did a great profession job on my car. If you are ever in the area with a coupon for another auto repair shop, I suggest giving the mechanics here a shot. They don't even put out coupons because there work speaks for its self, it's the ones who have to put out coupons to get customers makes me wonder read more

Horrible service, went to get my windows tinted, damaged the tint on my back windshield said it would go away after a few days. It never did so I brought it back to be replaced, but they replaced it with a cheaper tint not the heat blocking one like I had before, that cost more. Total scammers, only come if you like getting ripped off. read more
