Five Pines properties is a small property management company, which my current landlords run.
As a tenet, let me give you the low-down.
One of the worst things about Boulder is the real estate situation. Since a large part of Boulder's population is college kids, the rental rate for Boulder is very high. As it goes, the demand is very high for places, so you get shabby apartment complexes with very expensive apartments.
The places that Five Pines pushes forward are no exception. I live in a 3 bedroom townhouse which is a bit of a dump, not because of the tenets, but because the property is highly outdated and needs renovations. Of course, the landlords don't want to do the renovations, since that costs money.
On a more personal note, I pay a lot for this place (which is still fairly cheap for Boulder). What I get in return is poor service. For example my window has been broken for over a month now and every time I tell them to fix it, they just say they are waiting on contractors. And I'm still waiting for a replacement.
Furthermore, the insulation in this place is pretty non-existent, so the utility bill here is higher than I've ever paid (over 100 a month).
