It's been years since I had a five guys burger. Finally there is one next to Randy's donuts. My hubby and arrived there by 4:30pm and able to find parking on street. Inside is nice and clean with outdoor dining. I ordered a cheeseburger $9.09 with free toppings-grilled onions and bbq sauce with large cup of fries. I love how the cheese is melted and I forgot there was a double patty inside. I think the fries was heavily seasoned in Cajun too much for my taste. Haven't had five guys for a very long time time. I was in the area and decided to stop by. I ordered the burgers and fries online, paid online for pick up. The online ordering system was easy and allow switching the bun to lettuce! However, It did not allow for additional comments as I like the sauce and pickles on the side. It was NOT easy to find the store. I drove by, completely missed it and then almost walked right pass it. So minus one star for this and the annoyance for parking in Pasadena. I am not familiar with the area and didn't know that there was a parking lot in the back (free for 2 hours probably - from an old picture online). You probably should to turn and look for the entrance south of the block. (Coz it is one way street north of this block) The burger is good with good sized patties. I liked all the toppings with A1 sauce. However the fries got soggy when I got home. The worker was real nice and did not scoop the fries until I show up. The system also texted me to ask me to give the restaurant a heads up when I am almost there to pick up. I did not see the text until much later. It could've been better. I was apprehensive because I can pay $7 (not $14!!!!) for a double bacon cheeseburger at a regular burger joint that's been operating in your neighborhood (any neighborhood) for probably longer than I've been alive. Turns out I was right... and the regular neighborhood burger joint would be better quality. I could probably get an order of fries and a drink for the same total. Mushy wet bottom bun... fell apart when I took it out of the foil. Meat that was overcooked and the consistency of meatloaf. Bell Peppers? that were sliced fresh and hard and tossed on top. I thought I ordered Jalapenos. So it was kind of a weird combination. I ordered on the app and pressed the button that I was on the way. It said ready by 6:20. I arrived a few minutes early and pressed the button that I arrived. 6:30 came by and I had went outside and came back.. Upon return the lady behind the counter asked if I was waiting. I said yeah.. she reached for a bag and handed it to me. It was sitting there for who knows how long. No wonder the bottom bun was soggy. Lucky for me I don't vote with these reviews. The food is very good and very fresh. I love the fries and they stand out among any other chain. This is a new location, and they are going through the normal growing pains. I look forward to going back again soon. The staff is taking all the necessary safety precautions and provide sanitizer. They wear masks, gloves, and clean the outside tables. My SO stopped to make a to-go order there. 4 patties, the little printout says (see photo) There were 3 1 patty on his (shoulda been 2, shoulda had cheese, shoulda had 2 toppings: grilled onions and grilled mushrooms. What it was: bun, 1 patty, grilled mushrooms. Mine wasn't supposed to have cheese but did. A mixup? But why order 4 patties and only deliver 3? That's a colossal mixup if you wrap a burger that you haven't finished prepping. S O has had okay experience at this Five Guys before, when it's been a single sandwich order. Last time I order the regular Cheeseburger and it was too much meat for my taste. Also got a side of Cajun Style Fries. I was in this evening and I have to say LOWER THE MUSIC!!! the cashiers couldn't hear what the order was and vice versa ,really you can't keep the music down to a minimum ? I finally made it over to Pasadena Five Guys. I wasn't disappointed. I should say "We" made it over as my brother Gassy George joined me. Food was excellent. I got a BLT; Gassy got the standard cheeseburger - two patties, cheese with every possible thing on it. I wanted to share a large order of fries but Gassy wanted the large for himself so I obliged and got the regular size which is plenty. I had more than enough to take home and air fry the next day. We'd been waiting so long for this location to open! Everyone and their mother had been raving about Five Guys so I was anxious to try it! We ordered a hot dog with grilled onions and ketchup, and a bacon cheeseburger along with 2 fries and a drink. Being so accustomed to In N Out, we were a bit shocked by our total bill. It seems a bit overpriced. It is also a little too loud in there. The cashier seemed annoyed that he couldn't hear our order. He also gave us no time to look at the menu. It was our first time at a Five Guys so we needed a minute but he kept asking what we wanted, despite me saying we need a moment. It felt very rushed and he just seemed annoyed from start to finish. The good news is the food tasted fresh and delicious. I would definitely be willing to go back. I understand how difficult it is to operate in the middle of a pandemic. They are doing their best. Good burgers and fries but the price isn't right. I paid almost $15 for a small burger and little cajun fries. They should offer more discounts and coupons to drive more business traffic. Double Bacon Cheeseburger is excellent. Top grade beef, no fillers. Bacon is in slabs. This burger is the finest. Makes me sleepy after eating like huge holiday meal. We saw 5guys yesterday and visited today. The choice of toppings makes everyone happy and the pressed meat patties bring a bit of crunch to the burger. Extra tomato, lettuce, pickles, Mayo and onions is all it needs but there are 10 other things you can add to the burger for no extra cost. If you haven't had 5 guys, you should. If you haven't had it for a while because driving to Glendale or elsewhere was a hassle, you should visit also. Easy ordering online. Easy pick up at the shop. Shakes are good too. It's clean, the team is friendly, burgers are cooked fresh and are delicious and I especially like the kick in the cajun fries. I always like this area since there's complimentary parking in the back and it's a cute area. Let me start off by saying that this place has a cult following, although there are 'competitors' who may be more deserving of those highly sought after stars, at least for me. Regardless of your palate preferences, this newish location definitely need to step up their game, nonetheless. Hamburger was lukewarm at best, overcooked and dry (no amount of free extras could moisten that patty), and supposedly grilled onions took on a texture of merely being 'sweated'. Fries were certainly crunchy, hot, and tasty, which earned another full star. My server was very friendly and aimed to please, which literally earned a full 2 stars. WARNING: That's as glowing of a review I can eek out and also where this begins to takes a drastic turn. No matter which camp you're in for your hamburger obsession following, most will agree that abject filth and deplorable conditions (I won't even get into the bathrooms), are questionable at best whether authorities need to be alerted! Every single table was somehow soiled, either with liquids, crumbs, or an array of burger-type forensics material. I realize 3 stars is generous, especially since it was a very slow night with little traffic while several employees engaged in chatting it up in the back. Five guys has great burgers and is generous in the amount of fries they give. I got the little cheeseburger with everything toppings and regular cajun fries, which can be shared between 2 people. Also got decent amounts of napkins and ketchup packets. I haven't been to a five guys in a while, but this location doesnt give out those peanuts that they were known for. It was a very disappointing experience. #1 - There is no vegetarian or vegan patty. #2 - The vegetables weren't seasoned at all. #3 - The buns were wet and mushy. Glad to see that Five Guys now has a location in Pasadena on Lake Ave. Great option for a burger and fries. I stopped by on a Tuesday evening around 6pm and it was very busy. The restaurant was well staffed but it still took a while to get the food. This might be because they opened recently. Hopefully they will be able to become more efficient with time. read more
