I ordered their jalapeño cheddar burger on this visit and upgraded my combo to a large side and a large drink with an additional upgrade to add chili and cheese to my fries. My order came out quick and the service was absolutely superb as usual. I took my meal to the table and hurriedly opened up my side order and the sight hit me hard. The ultimate order of... Chili...Cheese...Fries. it was a heaping mound of fries with loads of chili and cheese. In approval, I inadvertently exclaimed "yeah" too loud and quickly scoped around to see if anyone might have heard me. If they had, I'd be forced to take the meal to go. A hearty mountain of deliciousness. My mind spun through scenarios on how to take this task on. Hire a Sherpa, get a pickaxe, and a pack mule perhaps? No no no. My food would be cold by the time they arrived. Focus and use what is at hand. The Wonder Whip Angel provided me with a plastic fork like the Lady of the Lake. It came out of my white bag like Excalibur. I should have asked for a second fork in case the first one breaks or wears down. I should've had a contingency plan. Curse me for a fool! But wait. I still had that burger to get through. I hurriedly scarfed it down enjoying every bit of it, but distracted the entire time by the thought of getting to my fries. I made it to the last bite and thanked the burger for giving its nutrients to me. I raised my fork high with my right hand and opened the clam shell with my left. For anyone watching from afar, I'm sure they only saw a small tasmanian devil tornado of activity with arms and legs and chili and fries and cheese whipping about. They'd be surprised to know that amidst that chaos, was a happy man enjoying a great side dish at a terrific value thanks to Wonder Whip. Im full. Now sleep.

I can't believe I'd waited so long. First of all the service is suuuuper friendly. I love the old school decor and the walls lined with the history of this place. Now the food. I tried a double cheeseburger, tator tots, a ham and cheese sandwich, patty melt, AND a chili burger within a span of two days. I guess I'm just intrigued by what gives this joint its longevity. Perhaps if I eat here everyday, I too will absorb some of this longevity. I dunno if fast food works that way. All of the food I've mentioned is super good. The tots are crispy, the burger is tasty and well proportioned, and the ham and cheese sandwich was carefully prepared by a true expert. The patty melt though. I can't even recall the last time I ate a patty melt. But it came out piping hot which I really appreciate about this diner. I can hear the meat sizzling as I wait. A few minutes later, I receive a sandwich with bread beautifully buttered to perfection. I take a bite and THEN decide to peek at its contents. My heart melts like the cheese in this sandwich. Why do I feel this way? Double cheese. She made my patty melt with slices of cheese on BOTH sides of the patty. And it had the delicious grilled onions just kicking yumminess into each bite! But DOUBLE cheese was not expected and to experience this made me happy. I am proud of accomplishing the act of eating this delicious sandwich. I think I should try bigger tasks. I tried my first Culver's shake and was expecting it to be a flop because I'm an ice cream kind of guy and not accustomed to this custard charlatan nonsense trying to fake out my palette. I'm humbled. I had a mint shake and it WAS made with custard and it WAS delicious and it WAS beautifully presented in the clear cup it came in. And smooth. Oh it was one smooth shake and evenly flavored throughout. This custard stuff has something going for it. I was there at about 7:00pm and I know exactly what they did. These livers obviously had been sitting around for hours allowing them to dry out. Why in the you know what would a manager allow something like this to be served to their customers? I don't know if I will go back not knowing if I'm going to get trash or not.
