Came here for the first time in years thanks to a promo. It's getting a bit expensive for what is, but I have to say they nailed here. I ordered ahead via the app so I can't speak for speed inside. But good was just being finished as I arrived. Staffed greeted me and checked in right away. Burger was perfect, built well, tasted great. The kids were nice enough. But the place is filthy. There wasn't one clean table to sit at. The bathrooms were disgusting. There was urine in the toilet. So you know the restrooms aren't being checked and clean. The manager or owner should be ashamed of this facility. read more

I'll start off with I've known Five Guys since it was a local chain in the Maryland / DC / Northern VA region and it was awesome. The NPR podcast on How I Built This is also awesome. Fries were based on Thrashers fries from Ocean City, Maryland That being said, it's hard to maintain that standard that it started as a small business. Burger and fries were decent. 1st time here. First impression was the cleanliness. It was literally so clean that you could ACTUALLY eat off the floor (any influencers out there?) even the bathroom was clean! WOW!!!!! My order WAS made to PERFECTION (and I'm NOT KIDDING!!!). Good thing I ordered a small fry. My small was like (3 large at place that starts with an MC.). Hamburger? OMG, WOW & AWESOME come to mind along with a dozen more!!! And they were cleaning when I left. Yeah, I would eat here everyday for lunch if I had the time and money. Was it expensive? The service was good, but a bit slow. I waited 25 minutes for my order and I ordered in person. I advise people to order online first then go. I like all the toppings that are available for each burger. I had a strawberry milkshake and it was so satisfying. I didn't care much from the fries. My bun was a bit too soft and soggy though. I did get a stomachache after eating the burger...so I'm a bit afraid to go back. I relieved myself and felt better afterwards, so it wasn't that bad. read more

I want to give this establishment both 0 stars and 5 stars. We all love a bad reviews so I'll start with the 0 stars. I am allergic to peanuts and this establishment is a nut friendly place. And I don't just mean they cook meals with nuts I mean there is BAGS of nuts everywhere. The tables have nuts. The man next to me has nuts. The lady across the establishment she is going to town on some nuts. I sat here and swelled up like a balloon and was covered in hives like I was just attacked by a swarm of mosquitoes. I should have probably been more aware but most establishments who are this nuts about nuts have a little peanut sign. This one didn't. My only recommendation for this is add a sign for the absolute obvious people who have never been in here. Ok now to the 5 stars. This place (nuts aside) is spotless. It's accessible to those who need it. The music isn't too loud and has plenty of seating. The staff are beyond friendly. Like the staff are incredibly on top of their game. I am not able to eat my food but it smells good!!!!! Anyways I would recommend this restaurant to everyone unless you're allergic to peanuts. read more

Went on a family lunch date today. Five guys is always delish. Service was fast and friendly and the store was very tidy. Wasn't terribly busy. Food was cooked perfectly and delicious as always. Today I will say I tried the little bacon burger with no cheese and I almost like it more without cheese. This location literally never answers their phone. I have called multiple times and they don't answer. When I am at the restaurant I hear the phone ringing over and over and they refuse to answer. When I asked them about this they told me that they are too busy to answer the phone when they had two other orders other than mine. The workers are rude and very slow. A 20 to 25 minute wait for the food...lukewarm burger. And that horrific trademark foil wrapped way too small steamed and sorry soggy bun... They took 40 minutes. We had to wait for them to serve us for 10 minutes. They were busy so we excused it, once they took our order they took 30 minutes for 4 shakes. People would come in and their orders would be taken while we were there waiting. When we asked them how much longer it would take, they said "oh we forgot". What?? We had been waiting there because they were busy and once it settled still nothing?? We were so fed up that we asked for a refund and they told us they would make them right away. It is interesting that the item I like most about "Five Guys" is the way they identify which sandwiches are which. Each order has a printed itemized list of each sandwich ordered, and each has its own ID number assigned. Each wrapped sandwich in the order is given a sticker corresponding to the ID number on the invoice. This way, you can easily identify which is which, without having to open each one to see what's on it. Also noteworthy is that each sandwich starts plain, but toppings are free. You add only what you want, instead of having to specify what you don't want, and hope they don't mess it up. How are the burgers and fries? They're OK. The burgers are better than McDonald's (which isn't really saying anything), but are not as good as Carl's Jr. The fries are reasonably good, prepared from fresh potatoes that they cut on-site. They never seem to be crispy, though. The french fry portion sizes are deceptive in that regardless of which size you order, they add another big scoop on top of the cup size you ordered in the bag they deliver them in. In other words, a small has lots more than the cup can hold. There are also free peanuts in the store, and the bulk boxes of them have warnings to not take them out of the restaurant under the guise of potential allergic reactions (see my photo). This location is very competent, and the staff is friendly. Five Guy's is a welcome addition to Sunnyside Road. read more

My boyfriend and I got two cheeseburgers with everything on them and a large fries. Super quick and delicious! First time at this location and was greeted by friendly staff. Went around lunch time and there was no line, so that's a plus. The place was clean and orderly. I ordered the no bun bowl and it was super delish! Ordered the little cheese (all the way) and added green peppers and jalapenos! They provide the ketchup, mayo, mustard, on the side so you can mix in just the right amount. I can tell you once I mixed everything together I literally didn't miss the bun at all! This restaurant is OK overall. It is clean, the food is usually adequate, and the employees are mostly nice. The quality of the food depends on who makes it. I am writing to complain that ordering food over the internet does not work well here. I have done it twice, and had much longer waits than the people who order at the counter. Last visit at lunch time I waited in line behind about fifteen people who were standing too close together. I ordered a bacon cheese and a little bacon cheese with a fry. My husband was on break from the national cemetery so I figured we would switch up our lunch routine and come here. He only has 30min. Let's just say this will be the last time we come here. The burgers tased good but the communication was not there. Pressed for time we received our burgers but no fries. I walked back to the cashier and she apologized for not hearing me. So I paid the $4.07 for the fry and hoped we would receive is before he had to go back to work. As he left to back to work they call #16 but it was just a waste. Simple mistakes like this make for bad reputation. The $8+ burger was not good enough to cost over $8. I would say maybe $5-6. **Beware** On November 4th, 2022 I walked into this location at approximately 1:17pm for my lunch, things turned so quickly. I walk into a fairly off environment as there was only like 2 people in the lobby during lunch on a Friday, as I walk to the counter this is where things get really weird. An older guy with blonde facial hair comes up to the counter with a gnarly attitude; He says "what do you want" as he shrugs his shoulders - and stares me down up. I tell him I would like a double bacon burger in a lettuce wrap. I then proceeded to inform him of my order as he simultaneously interrupts me so he could do something on the computer. He then replies "what do you even want on it" and his facial expression just was not welcoming, he kind of shrugged his shoulders - overall bad customer service. The vibe was almost as if he did not want to even help me at all. I then squint my eyes at him and just tell him "never mind I don't want anything from here" as I start walking away I decide to turn back and ask for their location identified number the man just turns away and walks to the back - following this a younger person comes out and points to the wall with a phone number. It was at that moment I knew no one was educated to their corporate standards and philosophy. I then had to elaborate on what I was asking for. They provided me 1803 as their location number. I have gotten burnt fries from this location, and on top of this..... my experience can be perceived as discrimination but didn't want to stoop down to their level so corporate and reviews is the best way to handle this. I had an online order and scheduled for pickup- I called the number on the sign for pickup and no answer. So I went in. Slowest five guys I've ever been to. And filthy- dining room and bathroom. I placed a takeout order and it took an additional 40 min AFTER the time it said it would be ready. No sorry for delay at anytime. As I sat and waited for my order customers were being turned away saying they were no longer taking orders- it's 7:30 :(. I give it 2 stars because the food was the only good thing about this visit. We went in to eat dinner about 6:00 PM on June 27 and the guy behind the counter asked if we were picking up an order or placing an order. We responded that we were going to order........he then tells us that they were too busy to take an order! There was nobody else in the restaurant, so apparently, they only wanted online orders......VERY disappointing! Are you too busy now to provide good customer service to the community that supported you when businesses needed it? Do better! S-L-O-W!!! I waited 15 minutes beyond the time my order was to be ready. At least 10 people came out with orders (including people who ordered inside, not just in store pick up). If I hadn't called and checked on my order I would likely have waited much longer. Since I was told they were waiting for fries I thought the fries would be hot; quite the opposite. Cold fries, just warm burgers and $17.25 poorer. Adding insult to injury, the young lady who brought my food curbside was rude. I was craving a burger and decided to pass up on my go tos: McDonalds, Carls Jr, and Jack in the Box. I was excited by the advertisement of "voted best burger and fries" signs. (This definitely was misleading) I ordered a bacon burger with an assortment of toppings and a side of fries. The wait was long for a chain restaurant but not terrible. I waited for about 20 minutes. When I finally received my food my first impression was that burger looked dry, and it was. Next thing, my burger was missing BBQ sauce?!?! Then after a few more bites I realized my burger was also missing bacon?!?! How do you forget one of the main ingredients on the burger? Overall, the food was sub par and preparation was terrible. The food is good and I LOVE the strawberry milkshakes. I'd never thought about leaving a review until the last time I was at the Sunnyside location. One of the young men working behind the counter went out of his way to provide excellent service to an elderly lady. He created a special fry sauce for her and took it out to her table. I've been in other places that have treated the elderly as if they are an inconvenience, so it was refreshing to witness kindness and respect. read more
