Wow, I have to say I'm a little shocked at the bad reviews here. I, like another reviewer earlier pointed out, consider Five Guys to be one of the top fast food burger chains next to In-N-Out. I've been to several of them and have always had a great burger. I will say, I don't usually order the fries because the burgers are so big I can barely finish one without adding fries to the equation. Unless you have a huge appetite, I'd recommend ordering the "little" size. The burgers are always juicy and delicious and the toppings are fresh. Came here a few days ago with the fiance to try it out for a second chance. (First visit was very disappointing, so much so that it took me months to even give it a second chance). Service was okay, although the cashier seemed rather annoyed with us. Not sure why as there were only 6 people max in there at the time. I ordered hotdogs, a burger and cajun fries. The first time I came here, the hamburgers were awful, so I ordered hotdogs because how can you mess up a hotdog, right?Hotdogs were good (what a shock).....anyway, hamburger was yet again, awful. Bland, burnt, and greasy. Mmm sounds delicious -_- Cajun fries would have been good if they had salt. They had none whatsoever. I loved the burger, The fries might have been a little salty, but after a burger with ketchup, cheese, and bacon with it, it was perfect. Size and portions are excellent as well. Definitely recommend this place to my friends as well. I'll be back again and again!! read more

I work around the corner, go at least once a month, and their ability to serve food is going downhill. It's getting harder to keep going back. I am glad most people are giving them good reviews. That means the burger I got was in the minority. First the burger was burned and had no flavor. I have been to Five Guys before and this had not happened to me. I do not go out of my way to go to Five Guys but for fast food burgers they are not bad. I went a second time and it was burned again. We went for burgers at the worst possible time (6:30 on a Friday night when a traffic accident had all nearby routes at a standstill) but you'd never have known it from the excellent service and equally excellent food. This isn't our usual diet, but every once in a while, you just have to have real burgers and fries. This is where you go to get them. Five Guys hasn't fallen for the usual folly of trying to compete with fast food behemoths by expanding the menu. Our family of 6 comes here maybe 4 times a year. Pricey for what you get, as far as the burger goes. Fries worth every penny! Wish they had toppings for the fries. Always crammed in seating. Went to 5 Guys with my son and nephew on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. Lots of people there (good sign). Service was excellent. Burgers were tasty. Price was reasonable ($12/each). My son said "these burgers are like 10 times better than McDonald's" (sorry Ronald). I ordered my Burger "All the way" and all ingredients were fresh. Fries were so bountiful we threw some away ... having ordered 2 small and 1 medium. Place was clean and well lit. Person that packed our order was polite. What an ABSOLUTE TOTAL RIP OFF !!!! Will NOT RETURNN ,,,,, EVER! Paid $8 for an absolutely tasteless burger. The meat was like tasteless unseasoned ground beef. They claim they give you endless toppings no charge. Ordered grilled onions , mushrooms , green peppers , and mayo. What A JOKE!! Received 2 little pieces of mushrooms half the size of a postage stamp, 2 little squares of green pepper about a quarter size of a postage stamp, and a dot of mayo, (pea sized) . I will NEVER enter this place again they ripped me off. I had 58.00 in my pocket ordered a burger.fries and a drink it came to 13:00 and some change I know I had 8 one and a 50.00 dollar bill I had to use the fifty. Shame on me for not counting my change rookie mistake. I called and they took my # and said if the draw is over they will call me. Surprise no call they open at ten I waited till 1 pm and called them. Well they were perfect that night another surprise. I spoke to two different managers that day. I had my reciept so I gave her the exact time and date. She said she saw me and that I handed the kid a twenty the camera is so good she could see Andrew Jacksons head. I love the burgers from Five guys but today I got not only the wrong order but no way to call them to tell them about it since their phone is busy and has been for the past half hour. All I wanted was a cheeseburger- meat cheese and the bun and another cheeseburger with ketchup and mayo. After a drive home I found that I didn't have a patty in either burger in addition to having a surprise of bacon and veggies I did NOT ask for. 15 bucks down the drain. Cool. Disappointing. Pricey, average to poor quality burgers. Over salted mushy fries. Obnoxious kids running the place. When all you sell are burgers and fries, it doesn't look good for business. Burgers are fried on a grill, well done. No flavor. "Free toppings" are a gimmick since based on the prices, we all paid for those so-called free toppings. I would rather pay twice as much for a quality burger, so it isn't that I expect everywhere to be cheap. Other issue was one of our burgers was wrong. That's ok, things happen. The problem was how they handled it. I brought it back to the kids working the counter and got attitude.No "sorry about that, we will get you another". They just turned around and yelled for someone to make another and curtly told me I had to walk across the room, through the crowd, to throw out the original burger. I was puzzled since a trash can was right next to them. I asked and the employee got nasty and snapped "its a health code issue, you need to go throw it out". If she just explained nicely, I would have no issue but got the attitude when I first went up, and then pure nastiness on the second exchange. Management may want to let their employees know it isn't just about making the burger as quickly as they can, there are these things called customers who choose where they eat. I walked in and the restaurant was dirty and pitiful looking. I had read the sign about the peanuts and asked where they were and the cashier grunted and pointed. I looked in the direction he was pointing and saw a cardboard box on top of a garbage can. I walked over and saw the box was filled with peanuts. I was filled with disgust. Being a guy who loves to eat, I always look for a good restaurant for all kinds of food. For burgers, first place that will come to my mind is FIVE GUYS in the town of Burlington, Massachusetts. After Market Basket decided to move a bit down the strip mall, a few new restaurants had opened. I used to drive by them and wonder what they were like. One summer day after hanging out with friends at his place, we decided to go out and eat something new (we ran out of places to eat around Woburn, MA). My friend, who was our driver, took us to FIVE GUYS and we had a big dinner there. Ever since that day, I told my family to forget about BK and go to FIVE GUYS instead. The first time I stepped into the restaurant, the place felt like a mix of young and mature since it was filled with young high school kids and families who were just enjoying their burgers, and the smiles are wider for the people who sat outside at the tables. The rock music also set the mood of the restaurant. With just under $20 dollars, I bought a bacon cheese burger with "all the way" topping option, a medium sized drink, and a large fries. Since they have an open kitchen, I went and stood by the pick-up counter and watched the guys make the burgers and fries. They also have an amazing soda fountain machine that can make interesting beverages such as vanilla flavored Sprite and strawberry flavored Fanta. I had the vanilla Sprite and it tasted interesting. When we all got our orders, we got a surprise when we opened our paper bags. Our large fries overflowed the bag and covered the burgers underneath them. What I'm trying to say is that FIVE GUYS really knows how to treat their customers. With about $3 you can buy yourself a extra-large portion of large fries. That is what I called a good deal. After we dug our burgers out of the bag, we opened the tin foil and enjoyed our over-sized, topping-filled, fresh and juicy burgers (juicy to the point that it dripped onto my shirt). At the end of the day, however, we learned a lesson. You and your friends should never ever order fries for the each of you since the portion is just way too much. That day, we all ordered large fries for ourselves and ended up with a bagful of left-over. We worked out later that a medium-size fries is enough for 2 people and a large-size is good for 4 people. Because of their burger and fries, I kept going back for more. FIVE GUYS also stand by their promise when they said their food are freshly cooked and cooked with peanut oil. A friend of mine who worked for them before college started, confirmed it. He told me that the fries were freshly cut when ordered and was very lightly salted so that the taste won't cease to exist. Other foods were also prepared fresh before opening everyday and cooked with peanut oil only. So, for the people who loves a good burger and fries, FIVE GUYS is definitely the place for you all (unless you have peanut allergies). This place is nasty. My grilled cheese was the worst, greasy and soggy. The fries were awful. The place was half empty but there was not a clean table to be found. I had to get some napkins and wipe a table so we could sit. One of my kids got a burger, which he liked but was overpriced for a fast food burger. My other kid got a hot dog which he normally loves dogs but he only ate the bun and ketchup. Needless to say none of the Five Guys locations will be getting my money again read more

These are messy, tasty burgers. I like this much better than other Burlington burger places (B.Good and Johnny Rockets). The standard burger is a double-patty, which ends up being a big meal, so I may try the one-patty smaller size. There is lots of seating although the tables are jammed together. read more

We were excited to visit 5 Guys a month or so after it opened in Burlington. We heard about them from relatives who think the burgers are "amazing." I wish they had told me that the burgers were grilled instead of flame-broiled, because without that information I was simply disappointed. My husband I ventured to Five Guys last night. We won't be returning. He had a cheeseburger and fries and I had a hamburger w/fries. Both the burgers had so much ketchup it absorbed into the roll and made it a soggy, mushy mess. I don't think the fries were actually cooked correctly. They too were soggy and the oil was absorbed into them - so they were raw and greasy. The level of noise was horrible - loud music blarring as well as teenage boys being teenage boys. We won't be back and we won't be recommending to anyone either. read more
