Greasy and expensive. Very loud inside so you have to take out. We tried this place after a couple of years. Will not go back,

The best fires around. Service is always friendly and quick. Although I am not usually a fan of a fried burger i still enjoy theirs

The Hamburger Stand - This place is drawing serious crowds!!

Now here's a place that really does remind me of Chicago greasy spoons. And I love places like…read morethis. Unpretentious, no fluff burgers... and delicious at that! Food was made pretty quick, though there was nobody queued up when I arrived. Burgers are slightly on the smaller side (imo), which is perhaps why the double is also prominently listed on their menu. Onion rings are hand-made and not factory produced. Their mayo-based special sauce is dangerously great. Give me a bowl and spoon, please. Friendly folks here; minimal 'bar' indoor seating and several picnic tables outside. It's on a busy road so there's fair traffic noise. Unfortunately it's too far for me to be here regularly but I am glad I know it exists... just in case... for next time.

The Hamburger Stand is back open for the season Yesterday…read moreI stopped by to grab a menu and after looking it over I called. Barbara answered and took my order, told me the price and asked how long til I arrived. I said I was already there and she said give them 5 or so minutes. Let me say that the 1st sip of the reeses milk shake was amazing. I remember why I don't get them anywhere else. The burger was nice and juicy and had my favorite toppings and the hand cut fries reminded me of the beach, nice and crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy inside it really was the perfect lunch. My only complaint was the straw kept getting plugged by the reeses chunks on the bottom of the cup. If you're hungry and looking to support local businesses try this place out. You won't be disappointed with the food or the amazing people who work there

I have eaten breakfast here before-it was mediocre. Service was ok, we were pretty much ignored in…read morethe beginning although there were only 3 other people there. I cannot even remember what I got but I remember thinking it was a waste of $. As for the ambiance-it's a fiber with a counter & stools (no tables), it was uncomfortable & freezing inside. Decided to give them a try for lunch, I have read so much about how amazing their fried chicken sandwich is, so I entered that online and see the sandwich is $22...to get fries with that it is another $8.50...ok, I think it's my birthday & my husband and I can split it all so that's only about $15 a piece. Go to put order in and there is an AUTOMATIC 22% gratuity added that cannot be changed or removed. Let me get this straight-ya'll are charging $30.50 for a chicken sandwich and fries (nothing special-no antibiotic free range chicken, probably saline packed chicken from China ‍) AND you think it's ok to tack on 22% tip for LUNCH TAKE OUT???? Sooooo that's $40.56 for a chicken sandwich and fries, tax + tip. ‍ Yeah, no. I would not eat here if they were the last restaurant on earth. I love supporting local, but how greedy can you be?

I'm honestly beyond disappointed with Palace Diner…read more This is the second time in a row I've gone there only to find out they were out of pancakes. At least this time they told me before I waited an hour--but it still meant wasting a ton of time figuring out parking and getting to the restaurant, only to be told they couldn't make one of their most basic menu items. It's especially frustrating because the food is genuinely good. The Lumberjack Breakfast is fantastic, and that's part of why I've made the effort to come back. But the last two visits, they simply couldn't be bothered to make something that's clearly listed on the menu. What really gets me is how simple pancakes are. We're not talking about a complicated, specialty dish with rare ingredients. Pancakes are one of the most basic breakfast staples. The only explanation I can come up with is that they don't want to risk wasting ingredients if they don't sell out. But what does it cost to make a couple of pancakes--maybe a dollar or two? Is it really worth disappointing customers who've taken time out of their day to come eat there? Great food doesn't matter much if you can't reliably order what's on the menu. After two strikes, I'm not sure I'll be giving them a third chance.
