Not bad for a chain but pretty fatty and greasy for my taste and not cheap

The standard deliciousness served with a smile that is always Five Guys. This was our first time visiting the Edgewood location, and while the atmosphere was missing the great vibe of some of the other locations we have visited, the service was fantastic and the crew members friendly and attentive. I hate when I forget to order the "little" burger and "little" fries and end up with a bill for $25 for 2 people to have burgers, fries and a drink (don't get the sweet tea from the machine), but hey, that's on me. Might just be the best Five Guys in Atlanta. My wife and I have tried most of them in metro Atlanta and these guys really do a great job. Nice clean store, great Motown music playing, super nice team working there and great burgers and fries. With the exception of the original just south of DC, this may be the best one! read more

first of all if you go here, you need to prepare yourself for some greasy deliciousness. this place definitely isn't for everyone.. especially those allergic to peanuts as they have peanuts to nosh on while you wait. i'm a fan of the little bacon cheeseburger (with ketchup, mustard, grilled onions and pickles, please) and regular size cajun fries (it's huge! i can't imagine how many fries you get with the large). i typically order to go because i like to be gluttonous eater in the privacy of my own home, preferably watching t.v. so i'm not aware of how much i'm shoving down the hatch. what i like about phoning in a to go order is if i take too long getting there, they replace my food with a fresh batch. thanks five guys! read more

Five Guys and a crappy burger. The meat is cooked well done, no exceptions. Who cares if the meat has never been frozen if they are going press all of the juices out and cook all of the pink out of it. The bun is dressed before the meat hits the grill resulting in a stale bun that never sees the burger on the grill. These burgers are the lowest common denominator next to fast food. Drive another 5 minutes and try Ann's Snack Bar. If you don't have time to wait at Ann's, the Vortex makes a great burger. Honestly Burger King makes a better burger than Five Guys. For those of you wondering if this is the east coast version of "the In and Out Burger", I wouldn't even compare the two. "In and Out" makes some great burgers. Five Guys sucks. read more

I used to like this place, but now not so much. Yes burgers are cheap but add an order of fries and you have a $10 meal............ for fast food? Anyhow not my major complaint. I ordered a burg and a dog and by the time I got home (live minutes away) both were a big pile of *!%@ I may as well been eating raw dough cuz that's what it turned into. TOAST YOUR BUNS!!!!! I first visited this resturant while on vacation in Panama City Beach. If you are looking for a place to dine in and be waited on, this is not the place. You walk in and place an order. You wait for your number to be called and once you get your food you have a seat. I love to be waited on, but this is a major exception in my book. This place is very well known for great hamburger and frie reviews. I have to admit they deserve all of their great reviews. I don't know what I like better, the burger or the fries. I must also mention that you get free peanuts, but keep in mind that there will be peanut shells all over the floor. I have since visited the Lindbergh and Peachtree City location. I see why this is President Obama's favorite burger spot. read more

Yeah, I gotta say: These burgers are extremely delicious, but it's really more about the toppings - they do it right. All the toppings you want no extra charge. Now, you're right: burgers, fries, not in it for your health. But even Cookout can't beat this shindig when you compare the generous or at least overflowing fries portions, futuristic touchscreen soda dispensers, and endless peanuts to the price of a burger meal at the aforementioned joint. Six Feet Under surprisingly, however, still has the best burger in Georgia and like the Vortex (Laughing Skull) up front about the side effects. read more

I like my burgers medium rare.that being said I enjoy these well done burgers..I have also unfortunately gotten a few that were a bit overcooked and dry on more than one occasion..I love the toppings and the Cajun fries. Ok, It's SLIDING FAST!!!!! The first time I went here I was in heaven! Loved the food, the atmosphere, the staff were all upbeat, etc.... Everything was a positive experience. Lately, it's just the opposite. I went in today and had a bacon cheeseburger and small fries. The bacon on the cheeseburger was clearly old and had been cooked for awhile, and the burger patties were cold; so cold in fact that the cheese wouldn't even begin to melt next to them! To top that off, (pun intended) with the toppings they used lettuce hips, which are the absolute WORST part of the lettuce to use on a sandwich - it's that fat part near the stem that's in-chewable and tasteless... This is NOT what I expect when I pay $15.00 for a burger meal.... read more

Great customer service, always consistent with great burgers and fantastic fries. I go nowhere else when I get my burger craving. Its never too busy and the floors and tables are regularly wiped free of peanut shells. read more

I went here for the first time last night. I have to say I am not a big burger fan ,so I didn't order one. I had a really yummy grilled cheese with grilled onions, green peppers, and jalapenos. The person was very nice about letting me add anything on the topping list to my sandwich. Of course there wasn't a charge added ,because all toppings here are free! They have a very good selection at that. My boyfriend had a burger with bacon, cheese, barbecue sauce, and a vast array of other toppings. He said it was really good and and particularly enjoyed the barbecue sauce on it. We spilt an order of their fresh cut Cajun fries. The Cajun seasoning tasted just like the seasoning at Bubba Gump Seafood. They were hot, crispy, and very enjoyable. Other than burgers and grilled cheese, they also have kosher hot dogs. The service was friendly ,but the people working here are very loud. I didn't particularly enjoy hearing one worker singing off key while making more sweet tea. But all in all, you can come here for nice service and good food at a reasonable price. read more

When you enter the Five Guys Burgers and Fries establishment, you are instantly bombarded with the smell of well-done burgers and perfectly seasoned fries. Its style demonstrates simplicity in little to no wait. This comes with the overwhelming quality, taste and size of the burgers. Even their regular cheeseburgers are too much for most. Five Guys boasts an array of 250,000 different combinations of toppings for their juicy burgers, so it is almost impossible to choose one that's perfect for you. I've come to love one of the more simple burgers, the little cheeseburger with lettuce, ketchup, and pickles as the toppings served with a regular sized order of fries. A piece of advice is that when you order the fries(fried in peanut oil) they fill up the cup, pour it into the bag, and fill it up again. Another helpful tip is that a "regular" hamburger/cheeseburger comes with two patties whereas a little version of those come in basically the same size but with only one patty. This is restuarant is truly a must for all lovers of great burgers and fries. Although burgers are their specialty, they also offer 4 different types of delicious hot dogs and 3 types of sandwiches. Their fries also come in two different seasonings to add to the menu. If you're looking for a wide range of foods from all over, Five guys isn't the best choice for you. If you know you're looking for a genuinely great burger, Five Guys is the place. read more

Tasty burgers, pretty cheap. The "burger" is actually a double burger, and the "little burger" is actually a burger. Don't be afraid of toppings, neither - they're gratis, and tasty. I usually get "all the way", and then add relish, onions, and BBQ sauce. read more

Gross! I didn't even get past the front door! After I walked past their grease dumpster outside I almost barfed. Visually it was enough to curb my appetite but the smell alone was repulsive. who needs a 15 dollar burger?! i don't care who you are or what you're cooking, the guy handing me my burger was straight up rude to me, he insulted me to my face, even after i went out of my way to tip the kitchen. When i called to let the manager know they refused to let me speak to him. I promise you i will not be spending another dime here. you can do everything perfect from start to finish but if the hand off man screws it up you all lose. Disclaimer: I've never actually had a burger from Five Guys. That said, Five Guys is the only place I bother to order hot dogs. You might try to chalk that up to the fact that there really aren't many places to get hot dogs in Atlanta...this isn't exactly New York with hot dog vendors on every other block.....but the reality is that their hot dogs are delicious! They slice them down the middle and grill them for just the right amount of time before they top them with anything you want. From time to time I just crave a hot dog and Five Guys is the only place I know that will satisfy me. (I also come to Five Guys when I crave peanuts since I know I can eat to my heart's content.) My only wish is that they served beer. Now, I don't really care for the fries because they're often not cooked long enough, especially when the restaurant is packed and they're trying to churn them out quickly. They're more mushy than than crunchy. There was one time that I saw a batch coming out that looked really well cooked so I went back and ordered them and they were delicious as well. Lastly, in my experience, the cashier is usually very outgoing and friendly (and sometimes quite cute). read more

I'd never visited Five Guys in the 18yrs I've been in Atlanta. I've only heard about it in passing. My family is visiting so I've been taking them to some food spots to go home bragging about. After leaving Ross on Caroline yesterday I decided to Yelp nearby restaurants. Five was so close with overall great reviews so I decided to "bite". Plus, I'd always wanted to try it. When ordering, the young lady was kind enough to let us know that two fries would feed the four of us, saving me a couple bucks. The fries were good and the burgers were great. Suddenly, my mom gets a strange look on her face while chewing her delicious burger. She begins pulling out a long black hair like one of those clowns at a kids birthday party. The whole table was like "Ewww!" We began to laugh as we are a goofy bunch. The staff appeared to be expecting our return to the counter as we were an earshot from the counter and another young lady sassily approached and pat her hand on the counter like she was ready for us. Mom showed her the hair, along with the chewed burger it was in (gross). The lady stated that they wear hair nets and just looked at Mom. I then said we do not have black hair since she wasn't offering any solution and she replied that she didn't say we did. Alrighty. So she was then offered a new burger which is fine because they were good. I began to wrap mine for later. I just had to let the picure in my head subside. We were brought the replacement burger by a nice lady and she apologized. I would have given 4 stars even after the hair if they would have offered a solution at the onset of the complaint given with evidence. Or if the person was as welcoming as the order taker and the lady who brought the replacement. We could see the cooks wear hair nets, but we clearly didn't have jet black course hair. We shouldn't have had to defend that point before a solution was offered. 2 of the 3 peolple we made contact with were gracious. I will return in the future. I just won't take my mom :) read more
