Now, my wife and I use their services at least twice a week, both the home pick up and onsite pick up / drop off. Does anyone have my clothes? I'm a first time customer and they delivered my belongings to someone else and I have clothes that do not belongs to me. Isn't that the primary thing they should get right? Their price is perhaps 30% higher than others, their staff wouldn't wear a mask and they struggled to explain their services. As a customer for longer than I care to remember, and a fairly satisfied one at that, it pains me to downgrade a spot that I considered to be the standard. Yes, they are personable, and their drive up is very convenient, and I think the preferred discount cards help, but lately they are not able to follow instructions. These aren't super special instructions but requests that I have made on every order, for every drop off, since the beginning of my patronage there. They even have it in their computer, under my name. But on the last three pick ups, not to mention many random pick ups of the past, I have stood there waiting for them to do what I asked, and what I'm paying for. You are probably wondering, sheesh Gemma, what are you having them do to your clothes??? Well, if you must know, I like my sweaters hung up like blouses, not folded up and crammed in a plastic bag. Simple, huh? Easy to follow if written on little pink labels to get peoples attention, right? A no brainer, I can't be the only one with a dry cleaning proclivity, wouldn't you agree? Well, enough is enough. The clothes come out nice, the cleaning solvent isn't overpowering. We have been using their pick up and drop off service for over a year, and the service has been excellent. I love that they have seperate bags for wash and fold and for dry cleaning. The schedule is very reliable (twice per week). The driver is very courteous and has even waited a few times for us to run ans grab our bag for him. I used 5 Corners for pre-cleaning of my sample wedding dress. They did a great job getting every single spot out and restoring to a brilliant white, but they missed a couple spots the first time I picked up the dress. I used Mary Burlingame for alterations (who is amazing BTW). She works with 5 Corners directly. Once alterations were finished, she transported the dress back to 5 Corners for a final press. When I picked up my dress the weekend before my wedding, it looked beautiful BUT I noticed 2 rather large holes in the lace(about the size of quarters). They called Mary immediately and I brought the dress back to her to patch. 5 Corners unfortunately never apologized, gave any kind of explanation, or offered any kind of refund. Overall they did a good job, but make sure to check their work! read more

I want to give them five stars, but, they lost my catering table cloths. These are huge table covers, how do you give them to someone else. I did get credit for buying new ones. So last Saturday I brought in a large bed comforter. I was told it would be ready today...no such luck. They are first working on it. At least the young man behind the counter called me. I would give this business negative stars if possible. I brought a jacket in to be relined earlier this month. I even brought my own fabric. Was quoted a price range and given a ticket with a pickup date. Despite this, the jacket wasn't ready when promised and I was given another date. I also received a voicemail from a manager who gave me a new higher price for the alteration. My husband picked the jacket up today and was charged DOUBLE that amount, even though he had (and played) the voicemail from the manager quoting a rate half of what he had been charged. The employee refused to honor it or credit my husband for the difference. If you like to be cheated, use this business. If not, find somewhere more ethical. read more

* Lengthy read but worth it. Do not bring your dry cleaning to Five Corners Cleaners. If I could give negative stars for Five Corners Cleaners I would. I have never been more disappointed with a service nor have I ever felt so disrespected as a customer. My parents have been coming to Five Corners for over 20 years. After I moved to the city Five years ago I continued to bring my dry cleaning back to Glen Ellyn because I was so happy with the work they had done in the past. This past November I dropped off an outerwear piece that when picked up I could tell it had not been appropriately cleaned. There was spilled pasta sauce on the piece and when picked up the dried pasta sauce was still there. I called in and whom I spoke to let me know they would happily take care of it if I brought it back in. When I brought it back in they had promised they would have it cleaned before the end of the day. I went in to pick it up and opened it in front of them and the pasta sauce was still there. They then cleaned it within the hour one last time to make sure it was removed. After the outerwear incident I decided to take a break from Five Corners because although they had taken care of my outerwear piece it was a lot of time and effort on my part and I was left with a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. Fast forward 6 months and I decide to give Five Corners a try again as I really didn't trust anyone else with a special request. I needed the suede on the inside of a leather jacket cleaned. My sister took the jacket in and spoke to someone who said they wouldn't be able to give a quote on the price as it would need to be sent out to be cleaned and it would take about 3 weeks. I told them to go ahead with the cleaning of the coat because I was hopeful they would be able to take care of it for me. The jacket arrives back after being out for just about 3 weeks. It came out to be $70.00 to clean. I get the piece home and can tell the inside had not been cleaned as requested but instead they had cleaned the leather and retreated it which never needed to be done and has ruined the integrity of the jacket. When I called in I asked to speak to a manager. I walked him through everything that happened the past 6 months and he told me to bring the jacket back in and that he would reimburse me for the cost of the cleaning and send it back out to be cleaned again. I took down everything he had said and wrote it on the ticket so that if he was not available when I brought it back in whomever was there would have all the info needed. Upon arrival he was not there so I left it with the person at the counter and they told me to give him a call in about an hour. When I called back in about an hour I could tell what I was promised was not going to happen. He began to talk down to me as if I did not understand the process of cleaning a leather piece. He told me he never promised to reimburse me and that the only thing he would be willing to do was give me a credit for 20% of what I paid for. In what world would I ever want to use a service again where I was treated so poorly and on top of it the service was sub par at best? My parents, my boyfriend's parents and I have all closed our accounts with Five Corners Cleaners. It blows my mind that a manger would rather lose multiple clients who have been loyal members for years rather than refund a client $70.00 for a service that was not provided as described. read more

Aside from the one time when a pair of my pants got switched with another customer's (the mixup was straightened out the next day), I can't say that I've ever had bad service at Five Corners Cleaners; it's just their prices are at the highest I've ever paid for dry cleaning. My experience: on average,and excluding laundered shirts, $5.00 for each article of clothing. That adds up. If they provided same day service and free home delivery with that price, then such a high price might be justified. I will say that they are much better at removing stains than the low-cost budget chain cleaners. read more

Do not trust them with your wedding dress! I brought my wedding dress here to be pressed before the big day... When I opened the bag, which was laid flat and very carefully transported, the dress was a mess! It was crinkled and wrinkled and was just a horrible, horrible job. Thank God my mother had a portable steamer and was able to steam it for two hours as I got my hair and makeup done. This dry cleaner almost made me late for my own wedding ceremony. Then, after all was finished, I called and asked to speak to the manager, and when I explained (calmly and politely) he was rude and said it was not their fault. He was completely unapologetic and offered me NOTHING! I had spent way too much in the first place, as I have now learned, they are completely over priced. When I asked for compensation; he offered me $20 toward having the dress cleaned there, and they charge around $250. What a complete joke! I took my dress to Best Cleaners in Bloomingdale and had it beautifully cleaned for less than half of the price of 5 Corners Glen Ellyn. I wish I would have taken it to "Best" in the first place. I learned too late, as I hope I that was my one and only wedding. It is horrible to have a nightmare like having your dress a wrinkled mess 2 hours before the big event, but what is unforgivable is how the manager and shop offered me no refund or adequate consolation. I was very nervous dropping off my dress because I had a bad experience with the seamstress who did some alterations on my dress. Marisa, the manager, eased my worries and told me that she and the owner, Lee, would look over my dress and make a plan for the cleaning. When I dropped off my dress I was greeted by Marisa and Lee came our to talk over the process with me personally. After speaking with both of them, I did not feel uneasy leaving my dress there. I had taken my dress in after having a drink spilled on it. The company however stripped the beading color off of all the sequins and beads. When I had got the dress back I had noticed something wrong. I had talked to the manager about options on how to fix my dress. After quoting me a price on fixing the dress and agreeing to do the work, he then changed his mind and said the work would be too expensive for the intricate beading to be redone. He would not pay to fix the problem. He then not only insulted me by saying that this would of never happened if it wasn't such a cheaply manufactured dress. After saying it was a cheap dress, not appologizing for the mistake, and not even coming close to the cost of the dress, he then took his frustration out by swearing at me and hanging up. I chose Five Corners Cleaners to clean my wedding gown prior to our wedding in April. I bought my dress as a sample dress off the rack, it was 2 sizes too big, and I had to have it altered. Since it was a sample dress, it was worn in a few areas and had some discoloring in a couple areas. The lace-up corset back as well as the ribbon to lace it up was quite dirty looking, and the underarms of the dress were also darker from so many people trying it on! I was soooo worried about getting it cleaned after my alterations, and put it off until the last minute because I just wanted to avoid the issue! I live in Chicago and was overwhelmed by the amount of dry cleaners in my area, but still wasn't confident in the reviews I found online. I found Five Corners Cleaners listed on a wedding website for being wedding dress specialists, and took a leap of faith. I made the hour drive one afternoon, explained what I needed, and my concerns. I did have a satin sash with 2 flowers attached to the dress, and was quite nervous about either of these getting ruined from the cleaning process. The dress was ready 2 weeks later. I was thrilled with how crisp white the dress came out, especially at those worn areas... it looked brand new! However, I was quite disappointed with the flowers on the sash, they were sad, saggy flowers, when they were so perky before the cleaning! I immediately made my concern known, and the manager (can't remember his name!) met with me to discuss the options. He gave me some good advice, and luckily the tailor was also in at the time. They checked out the dress, and assured me they could fix it, and do it quickly while I waited! I had to get back to the city for an appointment, but came back later that day and the flowers were even better than before the cleaning. I knew they would hold up for the travel and humidity for our destination wedding! The fee for the cleaning was also fantastic... only $85 (not including pressing) which is a steal compared to the outrageous price for another "wedding dress specialist" cleaners in the city... I would have spent $600 for a simple chiffon gown had I gone with them! Despite the stress of the flowers and having to make multiple, long trips, I'm very very happy with choosing them for my dress and would recommend them to any bride-to-be! read more

Well I have been bringing my suits and my clothes here to get cleaned for the past 7 years and I have repeatedly had to ask them to re-clean them because they failed to remove stains that I have pointed out. I'm wondering if the system isn't working between the person receiving the clothes to the person doing the actual work. I'm finding a lot of young employees there that are of the younger age group and sometimes they don't even seem to care if you receive clean clothes or not... No apologies or anything and trying to blame someone else in the shop for forgetting. No it's your job at the counter, if the shop makes a mistake, to apologize. I picked up my wedding dress from here today after it got cleaned and pressed. I am getting married this Saturday. At first look everything looked great. I got it home and took my dress out of the plastic as I was instructed and realized that a lot of the beading had become loose on the top of my dress. I went to look in the garment bag that I had dropped my dress off in and realized it had someone else's name and phone number on it and the extra beads that had been in my bag were gone. After calling and talking to a manager he gave me $35 off the heirlooming process. I asked if he knew if the other customer had my garment bag and if they could call them and we could track mine down. I was told that they do not save customer information in the computer system for wedding dresses. I'm sorry but that is total BS! I decided to call the other customer myself. She got back to me and said that originally when she picked up her dress they brought out the wrong dress! She also said they didn't even give her a garment bag when she picked up her dress. What a mess for two brides! So long story short my seamstress I used originally is paying to have my dress repaired 4 days before I'm getting married because 5 corners did not take care of my dress!
