My sister now owns a summer house in Rockland so I can visit here frequently in the summer. With all of the small stores in Piermont closing in the past 2 decades I was afraid that this store would soon be shuttered. It is still here and I am happy to be a customer hopefully for the rest of my life! Unique and handmade toys along with more modern toys enrich this store and the adorable design and entrance are enough to make your day. I wish that they still had as many stickers as they had in the 1980s. Is there any chance that the sticker rolls are coming back? It would be cute if they added a tea and sandwich nook attached to this charming little store, but I won't dream too big, or, will I?

It remains one of the last, and possibly the best, of the gold crown stores. It has an outstanding collection of greeting cards including several racks of shoebox cards which are my favorite. I means rows of cards! I stopped in today to buy a considerable stack to hold me over thru the birthdays and anniversaries of the summer. Beyond the cards, it is packed with fun stuff, collectibles and whole wall of hallmark ornaments. I always walk out with something extra. Finally, the staff is, and always has been, the best. It's well worth the traffic and the drive for me.

While we were checking out, Jonathan, the manager, began making homophobic comments about my husband and me, apparently not realizing that I understand Spanish. I may not look like I speak Spanish, but I understood what was being said. Hearing those comments from a manager was completely inappropriate and unacceptable. I have been a loyal customer at this HomeSense since this location opened over six years ago. My husband and I genuinely love the products and the store, which makes this experience even more disappointing. It's very difficult to feel comfortable returning to a store where a manager thinks it's acceptable to make comments about customers because they are a same-sex couple. This is exactly the kind of experience that pushes loyal customers away from physical stores and toward shopping online instead. HomeSense management should take this seriously. No customer should be made to feel unwelcome or disrespected simply for shopping with their spouse.
