The live plant section has winter bushes and holiday arrangements. Staff has always been friendly and helpful when I've had questions. Most items are priced on the higher side, but there are affordable trinkets if you're looking for souvenirs. This evening they had stations outside of the shop for hot chocolate and cookie decorating. On the other side of the park they have the Holiday Train Show. It's a beautiful time for a visit.

They have a large selection of plants, planters, gardening equipment, and plant themed art and items. Most things are high quality and genuinely nice - as opposed to a bunch of stress balls and mugs stamped with the NYBG logo. There was also a large book selection, mostly with art books and plant books. They also had themed office supplies, journals, candles, and a little bit of apparel. We visited NYBG for the Yayoi Kusama exhibition, and they had a section of the store specifically for Kusama items. They had a great Kusama book collection, along with other limited edition / moderately priced souvenirs. I wish they had a little more selection with the Kusama swag, but I was happy to get some polka dot socks and t shirt. The NYBG shop was a highlight of the gardens and I'll definitely be stopping in each time I visit! PS - NYBG members get 10% off!
