After passing by more times than I'd like to admit, I popped in to see what they had going on. The space has a relaxed and peaceful energy. They have made excellent use of the space fitting in lots of merchandise without feeling claustrophobic and crammed in. I was greeted and warmly welcomed. The shop keeper was knowledgeable and helpful. She got me set up in a dressing room and helped find the right size and fit for my body. My hesitation with small boutiques is that the majority of my experience with them is always a let down. I am a plus size person (size 18/20 for reference) and usually find very little or anything at all in my size. To my surprise, I immediately found several items in my size. Items that were fashionable and well made. I tried on several pieces and they all fit well. The material fit and hung well giving everything I tried on a polished feel. I ended up taking home two new dresses. I absolutely cannot resist a dress with pockets! I was 2 for 2 today! I felt the items are good quality for the price I paid for them. I just want to thank you for seeing me and the millions of other people like me. I did-that was the Towne Center store in Leawood, Ks. spoke to an employee who told me that did have both items in stock (1 of each), 85.00 for one and 47.99 for the other. I explained that I live 221 miles from that store but would be there next Friday, 8/7 and could pick them up then. However company policy for not allow them to take payment over the phone. She said I could go online order them for a store pick up there for next week. Well since they only had 1 of each item in stock the online ordering showed they did not have it so that was now not an option. She offered to hold them but could not guarantee they would be there next week. Told me to call customer service and see if they could "override" that quantity and make it available but she didn't think they would. Not helpful at all in solving my issue or making a $130 plus sale soooooo Long story short..I got in my car, drove to my local Laura Hill store spoke with the store manager and she found a solution. She ordered it from another Kansas City area store, I paid for it, and it will be delivered in 3-5 days. All from 299 miles away and in less than 10 min. This is not a store I shop in frequently as I do not have a need for most items in their inventory, but have been there 2 or 3 times before and EVERY TIME someone who works there has gone above and beyond to help me get exactly what I needed. This store manager "gets it"! and so does her staff-retail is a very tough, competitive industry, and having to deal with trying to find good, caring associates while they are on your dollar must be incredibly difficult nowadays, but not there. please acknowledge her and her store for their willingness to go the extra mile! Two employees talking and joking so loud impossible to enjoy browsing. They really wanted to be the center of our attention. Both were joking around, talking extremely loud (especially the tall dark haired woman) almost as if they were trying to entertain us? Very uncomfortable. We both looked at each other and said we can't do this. Quickly grabbed some cards, paid and left. And we really wanted to quietly browse all the cool holiday stuff. Maybe this wouldn't bother us if we were at Hot Topics (or Busch Stadium) but at Hallmark with Holiday music playing; really wanted to enjoy the experience. The strawberries were so fresh and the chocolate was a perfect consistency because it was not super thick but also not super thin it was a perfect happy medium, you could still enjoy the chocolate but could also have strawberry bites with it. I say this because I've gotten chocolate covered strawberries at other places and sometimes the chocolate is so sick that it's not enjoyable and sometimes you're just biting into the chocolate versus the chocolate and the strawberry.
