If you're waiting for the bus and can spare the time, come in and browse because this store is crammed with good stuff. I have to admit that I felt conflicted- the prices are so low, I couldn't help but think of the people making this stuff and their place in our global economy. Still, GO and check this place out!

It does have an unusual name. As far as 99 cent stores go, this is one of the bigger ones, which means that they have a huge variety of goods. If you're looking for school supplies, small appliances or hardware items or even a pair of socks, you're covered. Even though nothing is a simple 99¢ anymore, everything is still reasonably priced in these expensive times. They are not top of the line in quality by any measure, but they can usually get the job done. They even have a refrigerated section with cold drinks and frozen foods. If it's a hot summer afternoon and you're parched, run inside to grab a cold Snapple or Gatorade. Or when it's pouring rain as you come up from the subway, you can run inside to buy an umbrella, which are conveniently located right by the door. And like I said, you can even get a dry pair of socks to change into.

I know it's a discount store so I obviosuly don't expect a five- star ambiance, but even with that in mind this place seems so depressing and draining. The customer service was terrible as well, compared to other family dollars that I have visited, I know what the basic customer service is. That's why when I went to this Family Dollar I was completely caught off guard. I came in simply to buy some Halloween candy, nothing more. The moment I approached the counter, the cashier looked at me like I was a suspect in a crime. Without hesitation, he asked me to show my pockets and laughed saying "Are you sure you're not taking anything?". That was like a slap on the face. I walked in planning to originally spend money but came out feeling unwelcome and insulted. The store has some good selection of products but it is not worth it if this is how they treat they're customers.

Every time I walk in, I'm greeted with a smile, a "How have you been?" or "How are you doing?" It never feels like just another transaction. They make you feel like a regular and take the time to connect with their customers. One of my favorite things about this store is the atmosphere. Everyone is super chill, always courteous, and they somehow manage to make you laugh every time you stop by. It's the kind of place that feels like a true neighborhood store where people actually know and care about their customers. The only downside is that it's a pretty small store. It's laid out in kind of a short L-shape, so it can get a little tight, especially if you're trying to squeeze by someone to grab a specific bag of chips or your favorite beer. But honestly, the staff and the regular customers make it work, and it's never enough to keep me from coming back. Don't let the size fool you though, they've got a little bit of everything. Whether you're looking for old-school snacks, the latest snacks, classic drinks, newer favorites, or everyday convenience items, they do a great job of packing a lot into a small space. I've never had a bad experience here, and that's why I keep coming back. Great people, great customer service, and a welcoming neighborhood vibe every single time. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth stopping by.

They have a variety of foods and pastries, really nice sales which my wife loves.Things like chicken cutlets, boneless fish and a few other meats. This key food has a really nice deli, the delicatessen guy who works there is a cool guy he reminds me of the old school butchers that work at your supermarket that you can rely on to give you the cuts of fresh meat ,and be friendly at the same time. That is definitely the old newyork city way back when our grandparents use to go to the old newyork delicatessen. When you go to this Key Food NEVER walk out before checking your bill. They intentionally put the incorrect prices under pretty much all their items, then you walk to the cashier and you're charged another price. When I moved to this neighborhood last year (2025) they caught me a few times because I was not expecting the neighborhood store to steal from me. When I realized I had to tell the chasier to refund me for the overcharge on my bill because the items were on sale on the shelf but they weren't on sale in the register they were still full price, so you think you're getting it for sale but unless you pay attention you're paying the full price. This is a contant thing they do because they realize most people don't check their bill, they just trust the store is being honest. Now, I ask them to let me know the prices on items BEFORE they ring me up. I've literally seen different prices in the week than on the weekend, and no, not weekend sales, but more expensive on the weekend because there's more traffic. This place is a LAST RESORT for me. So sad that a neighborhood store constantly steals from their neighbors who choose to support them.
