They came and took only a few boxes and refused to take anything else because the elevator was being used by the residents to go to lunch. Even after we told them it would be free in a few minutes, they still refused to wait. I would never donate or buy anything from this organization again

I was a bit surprised by the condition of the store though, which is organized to a certain degree. Linens with linens, housewares with housewares, etc. there's a good bit of sofas and misc furniture from all kinds of eras one might find interesting. Prices overall were high I felt, especially given the messy condition of the store itself and the sorting process wasn't the greatest. Flawed items managed to get on the sales floor. I did find a bunch of cardboard boxes containing a mix of misc items for .50 each which I rummaged thru. Also was interested in the art and frames, which inventory was abundant, however it was too much to dig thru, some were on the wall shelves, others in boxes on the floor. Housewares and baskets had some items I would have been interested in picking up but didn't because prices were what you'd pay at Big Lots for something new. I was a bit surprised to find used (I'm assuming) mattresses for sale and wondered, do people really buy them? Never got to explore the clothing selection as hubby was in the car and I had already spent a good bit of time here, but appeared to be like the other departments. A bit congested and messy. The cashiers were nice and did what they could, probably with minimal staff, but overall as a whole this place needs more organization, a bigger space or more selective sorting process, and lower prices. If you go be prepared to spend some time here. There's alot to get into, some items are hard to access, and can be a tad overwhelming.

Yesterday's experience with Rachel, for example, was singularly unpleasant. Rachel seems to enjoy a disproportionately high opinion of herself, as she felt no qualms about barking orders at customers like a little commandant. "I can take the next in line... I said NEXT in line," she said nastily, when I moved to occupy the lane she'd opened, as I was closest and no one else had moved to accept her invitation. I tried to explain and she cut me off and waved someone else ahead, despite her manager's immediate rebuke. That's fine, I'm happy to wait in line. What I'm not happy about is being reprimanded and ordered around as if I'm a child in Miss Rachel's classroom, and I did respond accordingly. In retaliation, Rachel closed the lane immediately after helping the customer ahead of me and flounced off to the breakroom, announcing "I'm closed," after I had already placed items onto the conveyor belt. But never fear, Kristin stepped in to save the day. Two days into her new assistant manager position and she handled the situation with grace and aplomb. She stepped behind the register, apologized for Rachel's reprehensible behavior, checked me out and sent me, mollified, on my way. I must say, as a retail manager myself, if Dollar Tree ever parts ways with Kristin, do send her my way. Kristin is the only reason you get three stars instead of one. Rachel, on the other hand, I could vehemently do without. The two missing stars can be laid at her doorstep.
