They also sell groceries such as canned foods, snacks, and beverages. My husband and I shopped in this Dollar General once time. I browsed in all of the departments. The shelves were fully stocked. Products were often name-brand, such as Sprite, Kellogg's, Febreze, Huggies, Campbell's, Tide, Sharpie, BiC, Dr. Scholl's, and Tampax. The prices ranged from low to overpriced. For example, 12-pack boxes of Coca-Cola were priced at 3 for $15, which is an excellent bargain. I really liked their aisle of products that cost only $1. However, the single cans of Fancy Feast Gravy Lover's wet cat food were priced at $1 each, which is higher than what other stores charge. You really must compare the prices.

I called again at noon and had to call twice to route my call to their operator since, at that time, still nobody was answering in their appliances department. When a woman got on the phone who seemed to be in charge, I was basically told, "We're sorry. We know it's a problem, but we're not going to do anything about it." As someone who has spent the majority of my life in customer service...that's called a kiss-off. That is basically saying, "Sorry, but we don't care about the service you receive from us."

It sits back off the road a ways and when there are leaves on the tree it makes it hard to see the front of the store and the sign. Once you pull in here, the parking lot is fairly small and in need of some type of repair. Pulling into a parking spot is a bit treacherous as most people don't seem to look or care if they are going to back out in front of or into a vehicle. These too things are the only downside to this Dollar Tree. Merchandise inside is more than enough for a store that offers great items for just a dollar. They are always my go to place when I need something on the fly. It never hurts to be able to run in here and walk out with an armload of bags for under $15.

The parking lot is also very tiny and uneven. However, there are such extremely nice people working here. One trip I had to use the restroom and the manager was nice enough to take me back through the warehouse to use the customer/employee restroom. Another time I was there I got to talking to two of the young cashiers on staff and they directed me where the best place was to buy spray adhesive. Very friendly and such a pleasure. The mall was clean and maintained, and a Christmas train was set up for children. My husband made an analogy and said that the mall reminded him of an old person who was dying but was in a nursing home that took great care of them (!). I needed to use the women's restroom, and an employee kindly told me its location. The restroom was located past the food court, which contained only some restaurants. The restroom looked old but was fairly clean and worked. During this shopping trip, I shopped in the Boscov's, Dick's Sporting Goods, and Shoe Dept. Encore. I most liked the Boscov's.

The Beaver Valley Mall is magnificent but dead. It's a large mall that is smaller than you'd expect…read moreon the inside, with a beautiful fountain at center court. The interior is very pretty for a mall, and there are cute gathering areas in front of two anchor stores. Many storefronts in the interior of the mall are vacant, and finding a reason to come shop is difficult. The mall is owned by Namdar Realty Group, a known slum lord. Unfortunately, the anchors contribute to the issues. The former Macy's is used by U-Haul for self-storage with part being offered for redevelopment. Rural King does not open into the mall. JCPenney is in the process of closing, which is sad as it's a nicer store for this chain. Boscov's will be the only anchor with access from in the mall once JCPenney's closes. Dick's remains as a junior anchor. The food court is still decent and includes Chick-Fil-A and China Max, along with others. It's a shame a mall this nice looking is in this condition, with empty storefronts everywhere. The future of this mall is uncertain at best.

In addition, it has a CVS pharmacy, Starbucks, and AT&T. Brands include name-brands and Target brand. Prices are low to moderate. Most recently I shopped here on a Black Friday. I browsed merchandise throughout the store, and I thought that the shelves and racks were well stocked. I had trouble with finding a particular kitchen product, and when I tried to pull it up on Target's website on my phone, I could not get reception for several minutes. No employees were nearby to assist with finding the product, so I gave up. I ended up deciding to purchase only wet foods for my cat. Their prices were typical. Many cash registers were open, but because it was Black Friday, the lines of costumers moved slowly. I ended up waiting and then using the self-checkout to pay. The bag dispenser had no bags, so I had to ask an employee for a bag.
