Solid American fare. Our server, Angel, was the friendliest EVER, even though we were super annoying and came 30 minutes before the kitchen closed. That brings this place up from a 3 to a 4 star. Someone at our table spilled their beer (which by the way was a wonderful IPA), and it was quickly cleaned and replaced, just like that. Tried toasted ravs here for the first time and it was crispy, warm, beefy, and delicious. The marinara it came with was standard and good. I also tried the fajita quesadilla, which was okay. It wasn't super flavorful, but it was very cheesy, had a good amount of chicken, and a pretty decent portion size for just being an app. I would love to come back just to try the floats though, they look SO good. read more

Sometimes, I dive in so quick, I forget to take a picture! The Mexican Mule was good, but a tad sweet for my taste. I ordered the Chili Frito Burger which is listed under the Burger heading, but I don't see how one would eat it as a burger... I took the top bun off and ate it with a fork and knife. It was also good, though not necessarily great. The service was okay, though she missed one of the items that somebody else ordered. It's definitely a diner vibe and looks like they used to have someone at the front to assign tables and hand out menus, but it wasn't happening the night we stopped in. We were doing dinner for my sister and even though I've avoided this place for YEARS because of our first couple experiences, it's great for kiddos and my nephews like it so this is where we ended up. Austin was our server and he was PHENOMENAL. Truly. He was so attentive, kept all our cups full, got all our orders right. He checked on us multiple times. Food was super quick to come out and all super fresh. My sister/dad said that the burgers were awesome. The toasted raviolis were fantastic. The spinach and artichoke dip was unique and SO flavorful, my nephew LOVED the cheese pizza, and the BBQ sauce on the BBQ plate tasted just like root beer. There wasn't anything bad on the table. I split the kid's pizza with my niece and it was actually really good. My husband and niece split the Eurostar float. The portions at Fitz's are huge. So much food comes with each meal. I never eat it all and always have leftovers. The chili Mac was really good. The pineapple was good, but not our favorite Fitz's soda we've tried. The chili was good as usual. I like both Fitz's locations but this one is fun if you can go. The vibe is cool and it seems really vintage and cool. Fitz is a local burger root beer & ice cream store with two locations. It's very popular for their outrageously large floats. This is my second visit after a two year absence. My lunch visit was at their Delmar Loop location off the WashU Campus. I was seated quickly once I entered. My friendly waitress had menus and got a drink order. The dining room was full on my weekday encounter. Everything appeared clean. My order was a single cheeseburger & fries. I asked for a recommendation on a few floats. I settled in on a S'more's cherry soda float. I decided on an app last second and got the pretzel bites. My float and pretzel bites hit within 5 minutes or so. Wow, it was both stunning and intimidating. You cannot let this monster melt. So I was all over it in a bit of a frenzy. The pretzel bites were so good! My burger and fries hit within 10 minutes, or so which was excellent! However, I felt compelled to stay on top of the float to get it under control. The burger was just ok, was lukewarm by the time I could get to it. Fries were ok. I felt the food was mediocre. I would likely return. 3.5 rounding up. read more

First, I can only comment on the floats as that is all I got, but they were amazing! We walked in with my kids and were greeted by a very nice bartender. We expressed we wanted floats and she walked us through everything. We decided to split two floats and OMG. 1st thing, they are huge (4 scoops of ice cream) so want to likely share. Fitz's for me has become a Saint Louis staple. I have been coming here since I first came to Saint Louis and it is a place that I have consistently been able to come to without getting tired of it. The food is good overall good, with the BBQ pulled pork sandwich being a go-to BBQ option for me in Saint Louis. I have tried other things on the menu buffalo chicken wrap with less success, but overall the menu is well built and provides a variety of options without being overwhelming. The highlight of Fitz's for me though it the wide assortment of floats that are always a hit. I have tried a large amount of the float menu and all of them have been a hit for me, however I am rarely about to finish a full one by myself. Pro tip, you can say that you are splitting a float and they will divide into two cubs for you for the same price. The ambiance of Fitz's is cute without being overly elaborate. For me the highlight is always to look at the brightly colored soda bottles and see if I can guess the flavors. The service is ok, however it can tend to be slow. If you are going plan on being there for a little while. Overall, Fitz's is a fun dinner and dessert place that is worth a visit! read more

Review Visit: December 30th, 2012 A restaurant AND soda bottling plant. A little info on Fitz's. They are a restaurant. They also bottle and sell soda in the Missouri-Illinois region (it may expand further, but this is based on my knowledge). You can experience both at the same time if you visit Fitz's. Fitz's is located on Delmar and it seems to be a pretty popular area. On the way my friends and I went, parking was tight since the area was alive with activity. Once inside, the place is impressive. It offered seating upstairs and on the main floor. They had some arcade machines here and there, but not too many since it was a tight fit on the inside. If you go to the back wall of the main floor, you can actually watch them bottle the root beer. There are a few photos below in the gallery that showcases this. It was sweet to get a glimpse inside the bottling process. As for the food, it was alright. Nothing special, but not terrible. It's been a few years since I've been there, so I am sure their menu has changed up a bit. The cool thing was that when they gave us our bill, we got a free unopened soda with it, free of charge. So while the prices were a bit high and the food was not quite stellar, it should be on anyone's St. Louis list for the uniqueness of it. Plus the soda is actually really good! Ok let's start out by saying the place was packed as it was a holiday. The bad - table was dirty, floors were filthy, kitchen was nasty , workers in the kitchen bar area were just messing around not lifting a finger. It was loud and the drinks were lukewarm. Grabbed dinner at Fitz's in Delmar Loop this afternoon with friends. I worked a partial shift this morning and ate before joining the group, so I opted for toasted ravs (didn't grab pic ‍) and the Trouble Float. Chocolate chip cookie dough is my favorite choice of ice cream, add in the peanut butter cups and the iconic root beer -- there's no going wrong with this choice. Other options at the table ranged from Turkey club, French dip, and many burgers. Grabbed pictures of the bourbon burger (had an egg added) and the Loop Double. You will definitely not leave hungry. Our server was great. It was a great way to enjoy the afternoon. It's neat when they bottle the sodas and you can watch the process. Plenty of seating room and room for groups. My son picks this every year for his birthday dinner. This year we gave the Delmar location a try. Eddie, our server, was phenomenal. He was attentive and personable. He earned the biggest tip I've ever given. The food is good and portions are big. But the real draw is the root beer. We always take home a 4-pack of each :) Food is so-so, but we go in knowing that and the kids love the vibe and monstrous floats....5 scoops of ice cream over their favorite soda! I took my godmother here for a different experience of hamburger and ice cream and boy was she surprised. We ordered a variety of items that consisted of the bottler's burger which is a single hamburger with the works and fries, spicy chicken sandwich and fries , fish tacos, fried pickles and buffalo cauliflower. It was all delicious. I tried the pumpkin pop (it's fall why not ) and we had they famous root beer float and peach float. No complaints at all. Staff was very friendly and the policy now is grab your menus and seat yourself. That was awesome lol It was a beautiful evening so we got to sit outside and enjoy the breeze. The patio was nice and open and spacious. Umbrellas were an option to open and close. A bit pricey but you will definitely have to unbuckle that top button on your pants before you leave. The upper level fits larger groups and families while the lower level gives a view of the bottling plant (behind glass) when it's operating. Both levels have bars with counter seating. The waitress was excellent, friendly, attentive, and clearly doing her best despite a difficult situation. None of the issues we experienced were her fault, and she handled everything with professionalism and care. Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. We were seated upstairs near a very large group celebrating two birthdays. Both the kids and the adults were extremely loud, making it nearly impossible for our group of three to have a conversation or enjoy our meal. Toward the end of our visit, things became even more uncomfortable when another large group was seated directly behind us. They were so crowded that they kept bumping into our table and pushing us toward the middle bar area. I asked to speak with the manager, who turned out to be the same person managing the floor. She told me she would come back to talk with me but never did. The interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional. While the waitress provided great service and was very apologetic, the lack of management support and poor seating arrangements significantly impacted our experience. Fitz's is a solid 3.5 stars. Our server was really friendly and brought ice cream for my kids birthday at the end at no charge. We had really large portions for everything we ordered. My kid didn't love the gluten free burger but it was safe so it was eaten. My wrap was gigantic and as described, the dressing had a bit of a kick to it. My husbands fish and chips were good. The ice cream we ordered for dessert was OK, not the best we ever had but OK. Atmosphere is fun. We wish the bottling would have been open as that's a big reason to go there to watch it but it was down that day. I came here for a meeting and it was a great spot to meet! There is lots of space, it's brightly lit, and they have lots of casual lunch options to enjoy. I parked behind the building in the public parking which I'm super thankful for, because parking on Delmar can be hard sometimes! We were seated at a booth and both ordered bottled soda, I got a diet root beer- theirs is wonderful. You can also order on draft and have it served in a frosty mug which is a nice option. For lunch I got the Cobb salad and a side of chili (big chili gal). The salad was good and definitely full of toppings. I ended up getting ranch on the side because I felt like the blue cheese dressing would have been a lot with the blue cheese already on the salad. That was a good choice- they have good ranch. The chili was good as well! I always like a lot of sour cream, so definitely order more if that's your jam. I also had a wing from the person I was meeting, and they were pretty good. We enjoyed our meal at Fitz's! We came for the floats but they also have a solid menu full of diner fare. It wasn't too busy and we were able to seat ourselves. I ordered the patty melt on Texas toast with slaw for my side, my partner got a plain burger with fries. We both enjoyed our burgers, the patty melt came with a side of their special sauce and it definitely fulfilled my craving. The slaw was pretty good too! My partner also enjoyed their fries. Food came out pretty quickly which was a bonus. The floats are the star of the show and we felt they were worth it. They have an entire page of the menu dedicated to float options and we both really liked our choices. Not to mention they are HUGE! We got the classic root beer float and the mighty mocha. The classic root beer was fitz's root beer plus vanilla ice cream of course. This hit the spot and was a great version of a classic. The mighty mocha was fitz's coffee cola with chocolate ice cream, plus whipped cream, chocolate sauce and crushes chocolate covered espresso beans. I really liked the coffee cola itself a lot, let alone when mixed with the ice cream. I was a big fan, highly recommend for coffee and/or classic cola fans. I have such fond memories of visiting Fitz's throughout my childhood! As a child, I vividly remember the smiley fries that would come as a side with the kids meals. Even today, it remains one of my favorite STL restaurants. I ate here for dinner last night for the first time in awhile. The bottomless mug is a must if you're wanting to try out all of their classic flavors! Also, I swear the soda tastes even better in the chilled mug that it's served in! My absolute favorite menu item is their Delmar Chili Mac. Very flavorful and filling! You also can't go wrong with ordering a burger. For dessert, you MUST try any of their floats. They are huge and totally picture worthy! Our server last night was very friendly. Service has always been pretty consistent throughout my years of coming here. Our food came out super quickly last night! I was very impressed! The interior of the restaurant is so iconic. The environment definitely creates a memorable experience. We visited on a Thursday afternoon around 2:30pm. Checked in and had about a 10 minute wait. Staff were all very friendly. The place wasn't super clean, but I assumed it was because they were so busy. I had the turkey club and fries. My nephew had the kids cheeseburger meal with fries. The food came out relatively quickly, but his sandwich was a mess. Pieces of burger thrown onto a bun that was falling apart with a piece of cheese and mound of ketchup. I had him eat it with a fork after many failed attempts to keep the burger pieces on the bun. Fries had good flavor. My turkey club was ok with the chipotle mayo added, otherwise dry and bland. Had some amazing spinach dip and a Sunshine falafel burger that was amazing. Had to take it with me to the airport! My family also had burgers as well and they enjoyed them. Definitely a favorite in STL. Great for families, friends or couples. They have an extensive menu with so many options. They also have a nice children's menu.
