The waiting area is large and generally busy. Be prepared to wait, in stages, from your initial check-in, to another area for post eye dilating drops to kick-in, and of course in the examination room. Other then that no complaints and I'm grateful for their service and every member of their staff. Off the waiting area is their Optometry shop with a full range of eye ware for all ages and activity levels including eye ware for sports enthusiasts.

All the staff…read moreI met are friendly and Dr. Jeng is always professional and supportive. However, now I feel disappointed this time due to my eye surgery appointment. I have been scheduled for the surgery two weeks ago and was told to use eye drops one day before the surgery. I kept calling three days before the surgery for the eye drop pick up and was always told that someone would contact me. Since tomorrow is the surgery, I am supposed to use the eye drop today. I called again and eventually was told the surgery has to be cancelled due to insurance issues. I asked them why no one told me, especially since I have already planned for two days off from work. They said they did call me several times and left messages. The staff even said they called me at 9:07am this morning. I am home waiting for the call, my phone shows no missed call and no voice mail. I feel upset because I trust Solinsky. It is understandable for whatever reason you have to cancel the surgery, but it is not acceptable for not telling the client ahead of time and make excuses. I hope you understand how frustrating this is.

BE AWARE: Annual Routine Eye exam in Bristol, CT resulted in an $841.00 charge (insane for routine…read moreexam). The exam itself went well, Dr. Lavoie was thorough and professional but the billing is an entirely different situation. I've been calling the billing department for 6 months to understand the additional charges to no avail except for one individual, Edmond, others are non-responsive and do not call you back. I've had to appeal with my insurance company and they are assisting but Staring has refused to reduce the charges or change the CPT codes associated with this visit. They've now handed this over to a collection agency, I've never had to deal with any collection agency, I'm a person that pays their bills promptly but this is principle they NEVER stated these 'other tests' were outside the Routine exam fees and I'd be changed additionally. It's unfortunate that after almost 40 years of being a patient I, my husband and the rest of my family will be moving our optometrist needs to another practice. BEWARE!!!

I shopped around and compared and online I did get a possible better price but no option for breakage coverage. Here I am covered even if I lose my glasses which I've never heard of in a plan. Best of all, if you don't use your plan and get new glasses after 2 years, you can transfer the plan to a new pair of glasses for $1! Yep. You read that right. You don't need new glasses--- yet! Their prices are also better than the mall stores like LensCrafters. Obviously, they are more expensive than an online only retail outlet but I have read you need to be careful with these as the lens quality can be really poor. Very pleased all around with the front desk staff, doctors, & optical shop. Will definitely be back. My husband is coming here next. I also love that if I were to ever have an eye emergency, I have access to an on call doctor- even on the weekends. Speaking of weekends, they offer weekend and evening appointments which makes them even better. They are also easy to get to off of Route 9. I was referred by a friend and I'm completely happy with her referral.

Admittedly, it's been a few months, and I can't find her name, but it was a hyphenated last…read morename...She didn't have a great "bed-side manner", but she told me that I "could wait until next year to get my cataracts taken care of". Well, that was the 1st I have heard that I had cataracts, and I told her there was no way in the world she was going to operate on my eyes. She said that she may not allow me to drive. Now, I can decide if I'm safe to drive or not. I asked her if she was legally required to report it to the DMV and she said no, but sometimes she does - well, first, that's illegal. That is against HIPPA. Second, I am NOT going to let anyone bully me into something I am not comfortable with - especially with SOMEONE I'm not comfortable with. For that, alone, I will never go back to them. Also, though, the visit before that, I think I got the wrong script for my glasses because the glasses I had were not good, and she said my eyes got better - I know for a fact that was not true. I still haven't gotten my new prescription...
