I came to this dealership to purchase a pre-owned C-HR. By this point in my shopping, I had visited five other dealerships over the course of two weeks. I wish I would have come here sooner because my experience beginning to end was amazing. Anibal showed me the CHR, which was in truly pristine condition. I couldn't find a scratch or dent anywhere, unlike other CHRs I'd seen with some obvious wear / imperfections at other dealers. The tires were new and the battery was new / recently put in. The test drive went great, the car drove beautifully and it was actually a fun ride. Anibal was great to work with! I was up front with Anibal about the price point I needed, and he was up front with me about what he's capable of doing. I think he was quite reasonable in what he offered, so I happily bought the car right then and there! The purchase went quickly. I dropped off my current vehicle at home and took an Uber back to the dealership, during that time Anibal had the car cleaned again just to make sure it was perfect! The entire experience was great. I don't have a single comment or complaint. Anibal was honest and up front about what's possible and even helped me with the buying process because it was a little unfamiliar to me. I've heard great things about Fitzgerald Subaru and now I see why! A friend of mine leases their car through them exclusively, and another friend bought their pre-owned Jeep from them a few weeks ago. Then i ask him how much would i need to outright purchase the car and the numbers he gave us just didn't add up. Then he said i should look at a cheaper car. What a slap in the face. If you want a low-key car buying experience then buy a Subaru. We'd been looking for a SUV/wagon and thought to drop by and see what they had. We were quickly greeted by our sales and leasing consultant, Andy. He is a low pressure amiable guy. We found the wagon that we wanted on the lot but it was already sold. Apparently, the Outback Touring model is a tough one to keep in stock. After a couple of days, we decided to put $1K down and order the wagon (which is assembled in Indiana). Andy kept up email contact with us at least once a week as we were both motivated for a quick sale. We were told 6 to 8 weeks and it arrived in 5. We were pleasantly surprised when our wagon arrived. There are a bunch of high tech innovations on the Outback Touring model and Andy was very patient with us in explaining the ins and outs of the wagon. We were told that we can give him a call with any questions. I'm glad that they have concern for the customer after the sale because most dealerships do not. As far as financing goes, we had secured a pre-approval from our credit union prior to shopping for a vehicle. However, Subaru did offer 0% financing and that looked very appealing. We applied at the dealership and were approved for the 0% but it's only for 48 months and we wanted to do 60. They said OK but the rate would be just a bit higher. The good news was that it was still below what our credit union could offer. The bottom line: We felt no pressure from the sales staff. It was actually an effortless shopping/buying experience. I would definitely recommend this dealership. If you haven't checked out the Subaru's, you should stop by and take a test drive. They're awesome vehicles! read more

Super honest service department with swift service and excellent shuttle service. I brought my Subaru in for its usual oil change - in addition to having flexible appointment availability, they were the most competitive in pricing for the oil change compared to other Subaru service departments in the area. Additionally, a dashboard warning light came on, so I asked them to check it out. They were immediately upfront about the extra cost AND time to run a diagnostic, but explained that the cost could be applied toward the cost of the repair. It turns out, however, that the dashboard light was simply user error; I had somehow toggled a switch in my car that activated this feature. They toggled it off, and that was it! Let me start with Lisa, in-service is beyond compare she's excellent. My Vehicle is a 2010 Subaru and has been serviced by Fitz off and on for 13 years. My repair was my serpentine belt and by accident damaged my front bumper. Lisa was immediately on it and gave me a loner, to use until mine repaired, repaired by Roberts Collision,, they did an excellent job. Very nice and low pressure. I hate buying cars, these guys made it pretty good. Andy was super nice and chill. Really enjoyed speaking with him. It is a no haggle dealership., so the salesmen are on salary not commission. Andy never called me during the two weeks I was car shopping. This is a big deal! Everyone else was calling me nearly every day. That is not to say he didn't care, just that they respect privacy. "BUYER BEWARE" My wife was looking to buy a 2022 Subaru Forester at Fitzgerald's Countryside Subaru in mid January 2022. There were no Foresters in stock, so we had to order one. We selected the premium package as we were told that there was only a choice between Basic and Premium. The car was promised to be delivered sometime in March 2022. When the middle of March arrived, we contacted our sales person to see if there were any updates as to our delivery date. We were told that the delivery of our vehicle was pushed back to late March or beginning of April. The sales person never contacted us with any updates during this process. My wife contacted the sales person again in April and was told that they were waiting for an VIN to be assigned. I looked up the process of assigning a VIN to a vehicle and learned that it is assigned the week they build the vehicle to ensure that all the parts are available. At that point, I called the salesperson for another delivery update and noted that I learned that a VIN is assigned during the week the vehicle is being built and was told that was not true. The sales person further stated that the delivery date has now been move to May as the order was placed for a package 15 and we wanted a package 11, therefore the building of our car was placed on hold. At this point, we became very frustrated and decided to search for another vehicle at another dealer. Once we purchased another vehicle, we cancelled the order with Fitzgerald and was told by the general manager that they ceased creating the package we ordered in March and that an Earthquake hit Japan which caused further delays in building our vehicle. I googled the Japan earthquake and saw that it happened on April 16 2022. The sales person and general manager kept coming up with different excuses and lies as to why our vehicle delivery date has been delayed and eventually never arrived to the dealership. This was a very frustrating car buying experience and I will never again visit this dealership and caution anyone looking to buy a brand new model Subaru that is not in stock and available for sale at this dealership. read more

I have been buying cars since the mid 60's and this is the first dealership I have dealt with that has been 100% honest and up front. When you leave you are satisfied with your purchase or your repair - you never feel like you "missed something" - that nagging feeling most dealers leave you with, where you suspect you've been had a bit but aren't quite sure how. They do exactly what they say (or more) and you are always totally informed of any costs. I bought a new Forester in 2015 and 6 years later I still receive the same prompt, courteous and reasonable service from their service department. PS when I bought my Subaru they offered a lifetime twice yearly credit that covers oil changes (or is a credit towards any repair) for an extra warranty type charge, I purchased it, and if you intend to keep your vehicle for a long time I recommend it. read more

I have a 2018 Subaru WRX (with 10k miles) that broke down and I had roadside assistance take the car to this dealer. The service department reached out to me, letting me know that my transmission had blown and that the warranty would not cover the replacement transmission because the car had been tuned which voided my warranty. I asked if the warranty claim had been submitted to Subaru of America and the service person lied and said that it had and gave me a file number. I called Subaru of America and they said not only had the warranty claim not been denied, one had never been submitted. After almost a month with no car, Subaru of America concluded that the warranty would not be honored to replace the transmission. I let the service manager know that I would pick the car up via flat bed to be repaired with a different mechanic and she mentioned they would have the car ready for me. When I arrived, the transmission was completely disassembled and in the trunk with (yes, in the trunk of a 2018 car with 10k miles). Bolts were resting on the windshield wipers, in the cup holders inside and a few other places. They grabbed my exhaust and clutch from in front of a work bench and handed them to me. They failed to give me all of the parts (including various bolts and the heat shield). The mechanic I took the car to had to essentially put together a puzzle of the jumbled up parts that the dealership sent me away with and was completely blown away that they would not return the car to the original state, put the transmission in the trunk (with all of the fluids still present to a small extent), and not have labeled the various parts that were taken out. read more

I am willing to pay XXXXX (invoice price from Consumer Reports) for this car. Please let me know whether you can sell this car to me today at this price." E-mail or fax this letter to every dealership that sells this car in your state. Wait for the phone to ring or your inbox to light up with emails. 4. When you get an email or a call from a dealer with a price quote, write it down. If it matches your price (the invoice price), now is the time to negotiate with other dealers who are contacting you to see whether they can beat that price. 5. When you get the absolute lowest price (more than likely from Fitzgerald in Clearwater), go there and buy the car. 6. At Fitzgerald they will just have you sign paperwork and give you the car keys. No hassles, no gimmicks, no hard sell, no tricks, just pure joy. You will get a 5-star car buying experience at Fitzgerald Countryside Subaru. Service 1/4/2021 I took my car to this shop after a trip inspection in CO caused some pretty bad issues. The lady who helped me was not interested when I tried to explain the backstory (it was relevant to the issue). I asked her instead to read the paperwork I brought in, but she made copies of it (and no one read them based on the questions she asked me). I waited in the waiting room for ~2 hours (I was pleasantly surprised by this because I truly thought it would take longer). While waiting, the sales staff was very unprofessional, and I wanted to find the manager, but I was not entirely sure where his office was. They staff was making fun of previous customers/people who came in; they even called an employee who wasn't working to figure out the name of a guy they were making fun of! When the lady found me to give me the report for my car, she tried to explain that there were no issues and what they did. I asked a couple follow up questions because I do not quite understand how there is nothing wrong. She just kept explaining how the systems work normally, which is fine, but that doesn't answer my question. I kept asking more questions, but she told me that she doesn't have the answers for me and there isn't anything she could say, and that was that. A little sensitivity and empathy goes a long way. read more

It was a mediocre experience. Customer service is average. The estimates are not detailed so at the end you are surprised to findout how high the charge for Labor. Warning!!! Do ask for an itemized estimate including labor cost , then shop around with that information. If necessary next ri.e I will buy the original parts from the dealership and take my car to be fixed somewhere else. I like the salesman here believe it or not. They are not pushy and they don't feel like that grease-balls that you normally have to deal with at car dealerships. But their building is in horrible need of repair and updating. It's is not much different than working out of your garage as far as the mechanic bays go. Their customer car lot (where they keep the cars to be serviced on) is literally a field. I couldn't believe it. They also don't wash your car anymore because it floods now. I haven't had a problem with service or staff other than the sales manager forgetting to refund my credit card for $500.00 and one rude service writer. Other than that I've been happy with this place. The thing that really throws me off is the disgusting building and area that I bought a $36,000.00 car from. read more

I have received excellent service from them, and Brandon was particularly helpful when I was in last. Unfortunately the overall Subaru company has decided to route calls away from our local Subaru to a national number and it was most unhelpful. After a comedy of errors, which we not funny, but exceedingly frustrating, I was able to work with the local dealership again and my issues were resolved. Went in there today - a Sunday - about 2PM. Walked around a bit. Finally went up to a guy in cubicle and told him I was trying to decide between the Honda HRV and a Crosstrek. Asked him if he wanted to sell me on a Crosstrek. His response - "There are other customers here and only two salesmen today"... No smile. No welcome. No "Would you like to make an appointment for a test drive?". No "Can I answer a question?" Nope. The pointed to a Crosstrek on the show room floor and then went back to more important things at his desk. I got the distinct impression that I am not the sort of customer they want or something. Now, I am going to buy a car in the next few weeks and have a credit score over 800 - but maybe I don't look like "their sort" or something. I walked around and checked out cars for maybe 10 minutes. There was one other couple there with a salesman helping them and then the guy I spoke to who was busy with sitting and other important things. There's "low pressure" then there is just plain ignoring you. Now, tell me why, even though I live less than a mile away and am going to buy a new car this month would I ever even think of going back to Fitzgerald Auto Mall? Not gonna happen. No service. Unfortunately he had to get his manager involved since he was fairly new and had some questions. The manager, upon discussing options laughed in our face when we made an offer. Perhaps he didn't mean to be condescending but we were taken aback. The "no haggle" price is a $5 difference between MSRP, and the manager laughed when we were interested but wanted to discuss if there were negotiation options. So our intentions were to be "only looking" at the Subaru Crosstrek. We were greeted by one of the managers and he directed us to Yvonne Peterson. She was patient with answering our questions and showed us the features of the various trims and allowed my wife to drive a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. Yvonne is the type of person one feels comfortable with within a short time. She is experienced. At no time did we feel pressured by her or anyone at the dealership. She spent a lot of time with us (~4 hours) and we ended up purchasing the car. Although no haggling, they had a good price on the car and it was below sticker price. I felt we had a better experience here than another Subaru dealership in Tampa where we purchased my son's 2017 Subaru Impreza. Also dealt with Andre Selec the financial manager, who again did not pressure us when it came to getting warrantee information. Overall a great no pressure experience and yes I would return to buy a car from them again. read more

Great experience purchasing from them, low pressure great prices. Purchased a 2015 Subaru and love the car but this is a small dealership at least the Subaru portion. It was the least stressful purchasing experience I've had. BUT... The service department is where they are lacking. They are not able to handle the increase in Surabu owners in the area. Called for an appt and was told they had nothing available for a week. Leaves me with a bad feeling knowing that I can't get my vehicle repaired within a reasonable amount of time. I am getting ready to purchase another Subaru but am definately considering the service or lack of ability to service the vehicle when it needs it. UPDATE: In response to Donna's comment... Thank you for replying but unfortunately I did speak with the scheduling department and someone at the service department who told me he was a service advisor who verified that they where booked a week out. I brought my Subaru in because AC was not cooling properly the found my Evaporator Valve was leaking estimate cost to repair was $1,360 . I did not have them fix it I shopped around and brought it to a Automobile AC repair station they fixed it and it runs better then ever and their cost was $ 249.00 that is way less the Fitzgerald's , so what I am saying is before you overpay for work best is to check around before you get ripped off for over $ 1,000. read more

I was having intermittent problems with the air-conditioning on my 2006 Suburu Outback that my regular mechanic couldn't diagnose. After about 10 minutes it would just blow ambient air. I brought it to Fitzgerald - Suburu in Clearwater, and I was told the compressor needed to be replaced - their gauge indicated the pressure was 'all over the place' . Repair estimate: over $1800. I took my care to Dwayne's Dealer Alternative in Safety Harbor and he replaced a relay. Total bill for parts and labor was $110. The air-conditioning has been running great for over a week now. Also even though they told me the parts would take 2-3 days to order, the car wasn't ready for pickup when I arrived at 5:30, because I hadn't specifically told them I was going to pick up the car. How many people don't need their car back? or shouldn't be asked if they want their car back if the repair is $1800 and will take 2-3 days to order the parts? read more
