However, I had a schedule conflict so called in to see if it was possible for me to switch to an earlier class. I spoke with Rose and she gladly was able to accommodate my request. I attended Matthew's 8:00 a.m. group class. Being that this is the beginning of my Pilates journey, Matthew did an incredible job at explaining what we were doing so that I fully understood each move. He was also giving feedback throughout the class and helping each person make adjustments as needed. I felt my muscles engaging and felt so satisfied about completing a solid, challenging workout. I also had the opportunity to speak with the owner of ProPilates, Tonka. She asked poignant questions to understand my fitness and personal goals. Shortly after, I received very different messaging by text including a dismissive tone and a completely different narrative. Policies changing is fine. My brother used this center quite a bit, attending the complementary stretch classes in the morning. One of the instructors (Precious) treated my brother very well, 'lovely' as my brother put it. I ended up using the equipment at night, when it was a lot less busy. There is a large classroom that can serve as the yoga room (mats and accessories are available in the room) when not being used for classes. The fitness center is always open. The equipment was modern, all with touch flatscreens, tied into the same channels that our inroom TV had. Ellipticals, bikes, treadmills, free weights, and nautilus equipment. They have a supply of disposable earbuds if needed. They also had plenty of clean towels and chilled wet washcloths, and disinfecting wipe stages placed all around the gym. The views might not be as nice as some other ships, but the modern equipment and good ventilation made this fitness center one of the better ones I've experienced on a cruise boat.
