Then i get an automated text line asking me to take a tour after i was trying to cancel over And over and over. Will never return will never apply. This gym is also poorly run, septic system obviously is broken, moisture, mold, improperly maintained machines, inexperienced staff, out dated protein shakes parking lots in disrepair, front entrance unclean, probly hasn't had a window cleaned since the last business owned it. This gym has been an alright gym for the area, overall an average experience. My main thing is that they have been closed the last two times I've tried to go (rumors say due to renovations.) I totally understand reconstruction, or moving equipment, but there is nothing posted on the website, google, social media, texts/emails, or any local group notices. It's hard enough waking up early, let alone to have to go back home after accomplishing nothing lol. For the gym itself it has decent equipment, but the treadmills are limited and often broken, and it can be very crowded at times. The people who attend are respectful and not a problem, but I just wish there were announcements for closures or broken equipment. The manager allows people to sing at the top of their lungs while listening to their own music on their earbuds while doing inappropriately sexual movements on the gym floor infront of everyone. If you do not use earbuds you will have to suffer and listen to a horrible singer. The management will not do anything about it and has preferences for female clients. Beware of a manager that does not know how to run a gym. The wise choice would be to go to any other gym in the area. Also a warning you will be forced to pay for a year membership if you sign up and have your money garnished from your checking or credit card even if you want to cancel membership. The only other option is three month sign up and if you don't cancel on the date you will be garnished money. He does not tell you this when you enroll. You will be filling out approximately 7 forms which you would need an hour or more to read for the fine print. This gym has definitely gone down hill. I have really enjoyed going to this gym the past several months - until today. Honestly, I couldn't wait to leave. Even though the music is normally not something I would choose at home (I am more of an R&B, Rap, Opera, Classical gal), I understand that the representatives at the gym are working there and probably playing what they like, which has been fine, and additionally, the volume has been such that it is not over-powering. However, today someone was playing mostly head-banger/heavy metal-type music at a volume that was SO distracting and absolutely nerve-wracking. This gym started off really great. After a few management changes things have fallen off. Pros: Gym is available 24 hours a day for the middle tier membership. Decent variety of gym equipment. Cons: As an early gym goer, the sauna is now turned off at night and into the late morning. Towels only available during staffed hours and a couple hours after they leave. I became a member at this gym for the sauna and now they've taken that away for all morning risers. I could go to any gym around the area to workout for the same price or cheaper. If the sauna is a selling point, maybe think again. read more

While I felt that the gym itself was decent, I was not impressed with the odd hours. I got the base membership, meaning I could only work out when there was a staff member present and there was no reliable way to check if the gym would even be open on a given day due to staffing issues, so I often drove out there only to find that I could not get in. Finally, while I understand that when new members sign up they want people to commit to a certain time frame, I also understand that life happens, and sometimes people need to move. I moved recently, and trying to cancel my membership has been a nightmare because they need all kinds of proof that I've moved (things like a bank statement, or a copy of a new lease agreement, things I do NOT want to send to a random company). It's a money grab and absolutely ridiculous. Find a different gym. Edit to add: They advertise that they have classes when they don't, which is frustrating. read more

Had an odd experience here today. I was reluctant to go in as a couple years back, they somehow got my number and began calling me Incessantly until I finally told them off. Didn't want to reward that kind of behavior, but figured some time had passed and I should give them a shot. I walk In the door and there are three or four people working out, as I step in and get a look at a every corner of the place, I see no employees coming to help me, so after a minute I walk I to the locker room, figuring I'd look around in there, set my stuff down, and come try and find someone. As I'm about to put my stuff down, this barely chested, late middle aged dude walks in and with quite a bit of attitude asks if I checked in. Not yet I say, I didn't see anyone at the desk. He said something like,"well how long did you wait? You didn't give me time to get there from the other side of the gym!" Ok buddy, whatever. Let's go get signed in. He asks if I have a membership, I say I've never been In here before, he says ok, so just a day pass. "Sure" "Cash or card?" "One second." I say as I look to see how much cash I have. "CASH OR CARD?" More insistintly. "I'm looking to see how much cash I have, how much for a day?" "$20." "$20 for a day pass?!? Nevermind." As I walked out he said something snide like, "whatever you say boss!" Just a weird, awkward and rude interaction, like the guy though I was trying to rob the place. I will not be trying this place again. Element 21 is where I work out. read more

Fitness 1440 has a great owner, great staff, great facilities & they plan to go 24/7 as soon as, the Governor allows. As my dad would say, "you can't beat that with a stick!" I joined Fitness 1440 because the Astoria Aquatic Center Manager is charging Seniors $5.50 for 6o minutes use & your only get 13 minutes hot tub use. Total ripoff of the locals, who only go there because they don't have a swimming alternative. ^^^ someone told me that KOA campgrounds has a swimming alternative. The sauna gets so hot my iPhone 12 alarm goes off & I have to run cold water on my waterproof cover. ^^^ I didn't want to pay monthly iPhone insurance so I bought a waterproof cover from Best Buys. read more

Today is March 20th. This gym has defied the Governors orders for all gyms to close during this PANADEMIC. They remain open, business as usual. Getting rid of the staff that was so lax and never cleaned wasn't enough. Most people here do not wipe down equipment before or after use. Just look around folks and watch how careless both customers and staff are being and ask yourself, is it worth it. What if I The mats are filthy. The old staff that was lazy got fired, but it didn't seem to help much. Discontinuing classes is not enough. This is a germ lab folks. Do the right thing and shut your doors during this epidemic. This place will try to rip you off from beginning till end. First, I didn't get my trial period for free which was promised. That did get taken care of but should have been a red flag. In the agreement you have to give a 30 day notice. Went in today to give my written 30 day notice as per the agreement and was told that changed. Now you have to go online to ABC Fitness Solutions. Instead of charging me for the 30 remainder they charged me for 45 days. When I called them they had no record of my cancellation even though I was emailed a receipt. So be forewarned about signing a one year agreement it just might come back to bite you. read more

if you have not been to this Gym for a while you are missing out. They have up[graded most all of the equipment and added a lot of new exercises. The new management keeps this place super clean and they are almost done with the locker room remodel and it is going to be so nice. I cant believe they charge so little with all of the new equipment. I have spent more for much less. I am so thankful they have kept it within the range of our small town feel. The worst experience I've ever had. The worst staff and owner. They've made the whole experience terrible. They are mean, hateful people. They continue to charge you after you cancel. The manager Phil told me to "be a grown up" and get over it and that it's only an extra $60 to cancel after I was already charged over $120. I couldn't be more disappointed. Very awful people. I responded to Fitness 1440s advertisement for a 30 day free trial. Soon after the gym manager called me to invite me in. He said it's just a big family over here and I'll help you anytime and come on in. I did. When I arrived instead of a big family, I was encountered by a fast talking carnival barker with a high pressure sales pitch. This guy was so full of nonsense he would contradict himself in the same sentence, then do it again in the next sentence. He became very hazy about the offer his gym was advertising. He denied the offers he made on the phone to get me to come try the place out. It didn't feel like a gym. It felt like a ponzi scheme. It felt like they'd have off-track better with a cigar-chomper. You could walk into a used car lot on the outskirts of Las Vegas and find straighter dealers than these folks. I wouldn't just avoid this place, I'd avoid these people. read more

Not only does it always smell like paint or dust (and no AC in a gym!) but they are VERY stingy and will not let you cancel your membership before the first year is up. Your options to have cancellation approved are: -You are dead -You moved far but will need to provide new renter's agreement proof. -You are medically not able to continue. Fuckin ridiculous. Came to Astoria for visit, needed a workout spot when I yelped not many came up so I took a chance on this gym despite only 2 reviews the were not flattering, upon entering the staff was very nice, pleasant and helpful, I've played sports since childhood I know locker rooms this one was clean even had a sauna, not into those so I can't comment on condition, didn't go in. As far as equipment they had all you need, plenty of cardio, machines, free weights, deadlift platform, 2 rack pull cages I would highly recommend this gym to anybody!! read more

I haven't been in the gym since highschool (12 years ago) ..I joined this gym 7 months ago and I go 4-5 days a week. I love going here knowing it's open 24 hours, they have multiple classes you can join without special sign up just walk in and try it! They have a room for kids and a baby gate to help keep the young ones in, there is no supervision for the kids so not recommended for baby babies. The trainers there are very open to helping or giving advice if you're not quite sure what you're doing (wich I had no idea). There is a wide range of equipment for beginners-expert levels. I highly recommend this gym everyone is friendly, and the equipment is easy to use. read more

This place is so run down. The cardio equipment doesn't work most of the time. The locker room is NOT anything like the stock photos they show on their website. It's old and you can tell they don't put ANY money back into it. The are just old painted cheap house cabinets from the 60's. The Spin instructor is rude and completely unhelpful unless you ride on the road with her and her group. It will be nice when they build a new gym over by Costco and give people a better option then this run down dirty place. read more

If you're looking for a gym that has 24 hour access, my advise is to not count on it. I've been a member for nearly a year and work out before staff arrive. Unfortunately, at least once a week the key card system fails and doesn't allow anyone in. Once you're in, it's a decent enough gym but usually not very clean, often out of paper towels and/or toilet paper and broken machines. I wouldn't recommend this gym. read more

I signed a year contract with automatic withdrawals and when the year was up I had to contact the corporate office to stop the payments. They never answer the phone, the email is wrong, and no one is ever there and when they are there they are rude. read more
