It's one of the few places where I can focus, take care of myself, and leave feeling stronger both physically and mentally. One thing an instructor said has really stayed with me: Barre3 is an investment in your future self. That simple idea changed how I think about showing up. I'm not just working out for today, I'm investing in myself. I want to age with strength, balance, and confidence, and Barre3 helps me feel like I'm moving toward that every time. The instructors are supportive, the community is so welcoming, and every class reminds me that taking care of myself is so important.

I signed on for the Sunday evening sessions with Heather. She's focused, attentive, and supportive of everyone in her charge. She addresses muscle groups you forgot you had, bringing your attention to your whole body. I like the way she mixes things up, so that you never know from one week to the next what challenges she has in store for you, while being considerate of individual needs. We use a variety of equipment in a cool, colorful, relaxed atmosphere -- and the most awesome eclectic mix of music! Maybe it's the soothing tones Heather uses as she coaches you through the movements -- all I know is, I leave feeling refreshed and once I get to bed at night, I sleep like a baby! There are many fitness centers with huge gyms, pumping music, and sweaty strangers. Pilates at Play takes a much more personal, holistic approach that focuses on individual well-being. It's an all-around positive experience, and I encourage anyone to check out this studio and enroll in a class.

I definitely left with tight muscles that are promising to be sore for a day or two at least! The studio is in the shopping center across the street diagonally from Town Center, at the Haven and Foothill intersection. It is located right inside the entry way, if you go in on the Haven side. They never made me feel bad for being a little late or for needing to take a breather during my first 60m class. These classes are tough! But the people who work there are a delight.

I also want to mention that I booked the class through Class Pass. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Emmie who was also my instructor. She was very sweet and so welcoming. She gave me a brief summary of what to expect and answered any questions I had. My first impression of the studio was that it was very clean and cute. The class itself was great. Emmie is an awesome instructor and very motivating which makes all the difference. There is a parking lot but it can get full as the studio is located in a plaza with other businesses. Overall, I had a great experience here and can see myself coming back.

I'm so glad I found them, I honestly prefer them to any barre studio in the area (I've tried them all). The instructors are top notch and incredibly helpful. I also appreciate that they mix things up with new styles of class - I just tried a brand new class the other day which engaged a ton of lateral movement - not common in Barre and really left me feeling like I experienced something new. They recently reopened and I am very excited to see what they have in store for Lake Oswego!
