I go to this gym almost every Tuesday evening while my kids are at gymnastics. The gym is fine, with all of the weight machines and free weights that you could want. It also includes a basketball court, sauna, and pool (although the pool is an extra charge). My biggest complaint is that the bathrooms are always dirty and smelly. Maybe I'm spoiled by going to Buc-ees, but they need to have the bathrooms cleaned hourly. It's always an unpleasant experience to go in there. read more

When it's not too busy there are plenty of machines to work with! The staff is very attentive, talkative, and friendly especially melody! She seems to know everyone. Inquired about Personal Training at this location and was offered $150 for 3 training sessions a month. When I began to inquire more about the 'program', the trainer began to grow visibly agitated and proceeded to tell me how he had pulled strings to call the owner and get me that deal. I asked for a physical copy of the contract to read while he was explaining, and he turned the laptop to me and said 'Here!' and started to scroll on his phone. He then said, "It's cool, most people treat me like a car salesman anyway'. I politely gathered my belongings and left. Since when is it a crime to ask questions before I sign my name on a contract? This location is in serious need of deep cleaning. The cup holders on the cardio machines are nasty. The Womens workout area could either use better monitoring or more weights because there simply aren't enough dumbbells. Seriously, if you can make the drive, then just go to the Clear Lake location. They care and are very kind. read more

Last year, I opened two membership accounts at this gym. We trained for a few months, then we moved to a different place, but we forgot to cancel our memberships. For the past year, they've been deducting money from us monthly, I think it's probably more than $500. Today, when I went back to the gym to cancel, the staff said we wouldn't get a refund. We are very upset about this. read more

Sauna Shark check in: excellent tonight. Inside it Reached 145degF 22%RH. Wonderful! Pasadena Spencer location keeps the sauna hot. It's Roomy enough in there that the air draft from members entering and exiting doesn't throw off the ambient temperature for long. 39min for me today. read more

I was looking for a new gym and so I inquired online and gave them my info to get a pass to come check it out. What transpired next was weeks and weeks of ongoing harassment. The phone calls and emails and texts were NONSTOP. I continued to block their number, but they would use different numbers and were very persistent. Whatever idiot over there that thinks this is a good way to get new customers is clueless beyond belief. Stay away from this place. read more

I decided to stop procrastinating and get to the gym early. And I must say it felt good once I got going and inside. By the size of the crowd it's apparent that everyone was thinking like me. The people and equipment are fine; I just wished they would clean out the cup holders on the treadmills and ellipticals. Also what I think is nasty and possibly unsafe is how there is water that builds up and sits in the sauna. Clean the cup holders and fix the sauna and you will have a 4 or 5 from me'n read more

This gym is always packed. Like crazy packed any time after 5pm during the work week. The parking is a nightmare, people are lapping the lot looking for a good spot. I never understood that, waiting and waiting for a spot when you're going to work out right after. You have to have your membership card scanned as soon as you walk in. oh be sure not to lose it, it's supposed to go on your keys but it's not made very well and it ends up ripping. It cost $10 for a replacement too. If you have kids, you have to ask for a kids club pass to drop them off. There is usually always a line to get them in and only one family is allowed at a time. You have to sign in, it's a sheet that asks for the kids name, your name, member id, phone number, what area of the gym you're going to be in, and the time. There is a two hour max limit as well. They do not allow any personal items in there either. And If your kid is still in diapers/pull up, they will call and page you over the loud speaker to come and change your kid. Oh and I guess they had a Lice issue so now they check your kids hair every time. Theres rows of treadmills and bikes on the outer parts of the gym and in the middle is all the weight machines. The movie room is always full and the movie always seems to be showing the credits whenever I was in there. They don't check it very often to keep up with the movie when it ends. Towards the back is all the free weights. It's hard to use a lot of the free weights like the squat racks because people need to take their selfies in between sets. Its actually one of the reasons I don't come here as often anymore. I just want to come in and do my workout and leave. I don't want to stare in the mirror, I don't want to take selfies, I don't want to texts or socialize, yet this is all that I see happen at this gym. No one re-racks their weights, people ask how many more sets you have when you haven't even done one set yet. Ive been in the sauna room a few times too and its always crowded and you have that one person trying to do her whole workout in there taking up way too much room and getting mad when someone moved her weights. It clearly states NO weights in the sauna. and it states no more than 15min. yet these girls are sitting in there for 45+ mins. Its water weight! it's not going to make you skinny. Get out and do something! The super cheap price is the only thing that saves this gym! read more

Now is the time of year that I always try to get back into a routine of going to the gym. You know... to lose those few extra 100 pounds before summer. Ok-ok... it's not quite a 100 pounds. Anyway... on my way home from work I drive past Fitness Connection. One day I decided to stop... I am not new to the gym scene so I had an idea what I was looking for. I was a member of 24Hour Fitness for a bit... and HATED it. And I didn't want to get into the same thing with Fitness Connection. I wanted a place that had LOTS of equipment, a pool, a sauna, fitness classes, and that was not over priced. Upon walking into Fitness Connection it looked pretty much like every other gym that you walk into to. You have the front desk where they take your card and scan you in... So, I asked to talk to someone about a membership. I was told to have a seat and someone would be with me very shortly, and they were. I went into the room where they could talk to me about the different memberships. The guy that talked to me was very helpful. But when he was explaining the different level of memberships I got really confused. The Gym Guy: We have two different memberships... one of them is $19.95 a month for one gym... the other is $9.95 a month for all gyms. Me: *deer in the headlight look* Excuse me... $19.95 for this gym only... then $9.95 for all gyms? (I made sure I was talking slowly enough to be understood.) The Gym Guy: Yes, that is correct. Me: Just want to make sure I got this clear... all gyms for $9.95? The Gym Guy: Yes, all gyms for $9.95. Me: Ummm... ok... what kind of dumbass would sign up for just one gym for just about double the price? I think I will take the $9.95 for all gyms. So, before I could change my mind I was signing the paperwork. I am excited to say that I am now the proud owner of a Fitness Connection membership. *The crowd goes crazy* This gym is in great shape (I think it is fairly new)... they have a TON of cardio machines, free weights, weight machines, a pool, a sauna, fitness classes, a hot tub, basketball court, a nice locker room, and racket ball courts. That's right... I did say racket ball. All for $9.95 a month. You just really can't beat that. read more

Nice gym to workout, just the times you guys open is horrible, need to go back to 24 hours get with the program already

This is a review for the Coaches. The coaches themselves aren't the problem, the problem is if you ever try and get off the contract. I by the way, was way over my year so I'd fulfilled my end. I was on month to month and paid the extra month as stipulated per the contract. Even if you do EVERYTHING correctly you could find yourself being told you owe yet another month and so on forever. They will try and say they didn't receive mail. Yet I have the USPS green proof of delivery that says they did. The date comes up when you look up the code. Dal C the 1800 number you gave me got me to the Humble gym and they said they couldn't help me.... Thanks for yet more wasted time. I am waiting to see if UBF actually cancels my contact (I have an email from ACC saying they would in April but apparently not) and I and my husband stop getting voicemails, texts and calls and if it affects my credit score as it is ALL UBF's error. After 6 hours of trying to reach them and no one ever returning voicemails someone finally linked me to a live body. But I am not holding my breath. PS there was no confusion, I exactly followed the contract's terms to cancel. read more

It's really cheap and with Planet FItness opening up down the street, it's not nearly as crowded at 7:00 am. There are wet spots on the floors in the gym, which is really weird and not at all sanitary. Not the bathroom, the gym itself. Lots of them and not at all small either. Also, the gym didn't seem to provide towels of any kind. Most gyms I've worked out at did at least have towels in the locker room. The sauna is ok but is missing wood so it looks broken down. The men's bathrooms are getting fixed which is something that's long overdue. The actual machines are in really good shape though there is a real preponderance of weight plates randomly propped amongst the machines along with the occasional dumbbell. But, that's pretty standard for most gyms. The freeweight equipment is also in really good shape. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. This is the first review I've ever even left. I've been going To this gym for 10 years now. And today was the end of it for me. A few days ago, this gym posted saying they were closed for some reason idk. I called just now to ask if they were open and the front desk woman breathed out heavily (as if she was annoyed) and said "yup we are open". I hung up and asked to speak to the manager (have never spoke to any manager about an employee before) and let them know that it was completely unnecessary and rude . The managers response was "We have been getting the same call hundreds of times, she's just tired".. It does NOT matter how tired you are, you don't talk to people like that in general. Seriously shocked with the employees at this gym. Do better next time, and treat people with respect. It was just a simple yes or no question . read more

"Old computer system", what a bunch of bs lies. If Planet Fitness and LA Fitness accept digital barcode scan, why your corporation cant'? It's 2019 and power of computation is super affordable. Don't tell me it's a security issue because whenever you scan the member barcode, be it wallet pass on iOS device or physical key tag, the computer displays your face. This is simply corporate greed. read more

The gym is ok. However EVERYONE needs to know that this place is not safe when it comes to their parking lot. Had my truck stolen from this parking lot and when the police took my report, I found out that people have there cars broken into or stolen almost daily. In fact, the day my truck was stolen, the responding officer told me this was the second time he was there THAT day. They put stupid "take your things and lock your car" signs up, and that is their out from lawsuits. Fitness Connection, you need to address this issue because it is a reoccurring problem and you should use some of those maintenance fees to better secure the parking lot. No cameras? No security? Really bad customer service, especially knowing the quantity of people that are going to this site. This is my attempt to warn every person that uses this gym. This site is not safe, please be careful. I have also seen some sketchy people trolling the parking lot and I know there are several women that attend alone. Please please fix this growing danger for everyone. read more

One of the team managers named John is so rude with every costumer. I was so exited to join the gym, but they did not let me. I recommend not wasting your time here. Employees are unprofessional, unmannerly and bend the rules to their liking. I went with a free 7-day guest pass. I'm not sure why everyone moans and groans about this place. It's far better than the location on gulf freeway. They have yoga classes (a huge plus for me) and a sea of very clean and new weight machines for lifting. Just doing one yoga class more than pays for membership for the entire month here....$10 a month!!!.... one 1-hr yoga class at a studio would be $15 by itself. I actually signed up for yelp just to write this review. The staff is mediocre at best. They don't look out for anyone's beat interest. What I found dumb was that you could always upgrade your membership over the phone and they always found a way to upgrade it, but as soon as you want to cancel "You have to send in a letter and it's a 30 day process to cancel it". Come on now. Now I have to either send in a letter or go to the bank and cancel my credit card. I'm going to go cancel my credit card just to give them a little bit of a harder time of anything. Over the years they have slowly turned to shit. I started going there 5 years ago. The machines were always available and it was a good gym atmosphere, but now it's crowded. There are literally two people using the same bench press , cars getting broken into, lines to use a machine, people curling in the squat rack, people squatting in the curl rack. It's a big letdown.. I'm switching gyms as soon as I'm out of work. I'm giving it two starts because it was good for a while but leaving with disappointment. P.s. a guy I know shit in the pool. read more

Definitely not worth it! I lived in Houston last year, but I had to move to the DFW because I was pursuing my education. I tried canceling my membership and until today, it has not been canceled. They talk a big game about how great the gym is, but don't try canceling your membership because they make your life miserable. They have the most insane process to cancel. They make you mail a resignation letter through certified mail. Even when you do that, they still won't cancel your membership. They're now making me show proof that I sent that certified mail. It's been over a year and I still can't get my membership canceled. They're still withdrawing money from my account! I would not recommend the headache to anyone. Go look for another gym! read more

I joined this gym about 2 months ago. I thought for 10 bucks a month I hit the jackpot. looked pretty clean and not many people in the gym. I forgot that it was a Sunday when I visited the gym. Anyway, I thought it will be alright on weekdays. But when Monday came it an entirely different story. There was huge swarm of people in the gym. The weight are is completely full with people, all cardio machines. everything is jam-packed. NOw, I figured why it was 10 bucks a month. Well, I am not here to complain about that. This is what you get for 10 bucks. Another thing, I noticed is that they have huge fans on the ceiling Though they are good for air circulation but they throw a thurst of air on the individual who is standing at the edge of those fans which is not good. The same is with the air conditioner They have many air ducts which have their openings right on some equipments. So, you can imagine how you will feel when you are working out and and big blow of air keeps falling on you. I have felt feverish after these situations and now I try to avoid these areas completely. I hope the management is reading my comments here and work on these. read more

This gym just can't get its act together. The payment software has "glitched" several times on us resulting in the front desk staff demanding and discussing financial matters in front of a growing line of angry strangers. Once I was even treated very poorly and dismissive by Keith who is supposedly upper management at the gym. We are not actually behind on gym payments, after inspecting our bank records we are actually being double charged since May. The "day-use" lockers are always tied up by people who do t think rules apply to them, when you tell staff about this problem, nothing happens. The women's shower room always smells like sewage. The water pressure/temperatures are always hit and miss. The parking lot is always a mad house and people are angry and rude. First I'll start off by saying I have been going to this gym for about 10 years now. I have seen this gym change over time. I'm only giving this gym 3 starts. They are good about replacing old equipment and expanding the inside and putting in new stuff all the time, so that's great; but there are some down sides to this gym as well. The restrooms are always dirty, communication with the staff can be difficult and some of the night staff bother you when you are working out. The restroom issue can get pretty bad in there as one time all the toilets were covered in toilet paper and feces like I have never seen before. What made the situation even worse is that you can't communicate with the cleaning staff to let them know, because they don't speak English. The other major problem I have Is with the night shift staff, particularly Jason at the front desk. That guy will come over to you when you are working out and ask you to pick up weights that are not even yours. He will also come up to you and bother you about the sound that weights make in a GYM! I feel like I'm harassed over something petty almost every time I go in there at night. This gym is also packed with people from 5-9pm, but that's normal for a lot of gyms. I wouldn't recommend going in at that time. read more
