I've been here about 10-12 times now. I initially did the 5-day pass to check it out and was impressed on the first day This gym is huge and clean, including the men's locker room. Apparently it was a Kroger grocery store before. There is plenty of almost everything. I wished there was another pulley machine that had 2 stacks of weights. There's only 1 that I've noticed. All of the other ones use 1 stack only, making it hard to do certain exercises where you need a lighter weight. Could use maybe 1 more lat pull down and seated row, but it's not a big deal. There's a "functional fitness" area that has some crazy monkey bars, several areas to deadlift, squat, etc. There's 1 sled and 2 sprint machines where you can walk backwards (for the ATG/kneesovertoes people). There are 2 tire-flipping stations. In terms of the machines, there are 2-4 for a muscle group in many muscle groups. I've never seen so many. I only use machines to warm up or to do certain lifts, but it's still nice to see sooo many. You don't really have to wait for one, at least the times I've been going. I don't like the setup of the benches for bench pressing. I think the barbell hooks extend out too long. To position yourself so you don't hit the hooks while benching, you're scooted too far down the bench to launch on your own. Ideally you'd have a partner to help launch. All of the barbells are skinny too. I feel like I'd prefer something slightly thicker. Going back, when I signed up for the trial, there was zero pressure to join. I was honestly expecting this gym to be poor reading all of the previous reviews. I had planned on going back to old faithful - 24 Hour Fitness. All in all, solid gym. It is a pretty busy gym. Even during slow times, it's not too slow. Let's hope there are no issues canceling my membership if I need to when I move in a few months read more

Predatory contracts that suck uour money up even after your agreed upon year. Terrible company

Just moved into the area and wanted to evaluate a few local gyms. I picked up a 5-day pass for this location to try it out. Instead of being welcomed, I was left waiting for over 30 minutes just to have my pass "activated." When someone finally came over (Zach), I was told I couldn't use the pass because my ID still listed my old address in Grapevine--20 miles away. Rather than simply verifying at the door and letting me work out, I was hit with an immediate, canned sales pitch. No effort to listen, no discovery questions, no interest in what I was actually looking for--just a pushy attempt to close a sale. It felt like classic bait-and-switch: offer a trial pass, then refuse to honor it and pivot straight into selling a membership. This is unprofessional, a waste of time, and the opposite of good customer service. I came in fully intending to sign up after trying the gym. Instead, I left disappointed. Please invest in properly training your staff--this is a people business, not just a sales quota. read more

I have no problems with membership side. It's the trainer side. I paying for a trainer once a month. The trainer I initially had quit & no one contacted me. Still taking money out of my account. So I only had total 2 sessions. Month later I was in a car accident and spoke to three trainers, never addressed until I came to the facility. To stop payment on my trainer account due to restrictions. Instructed by Mr Gene to email corporate and doubts if I would get a refund. I have email x 2 different times & no response. This really sucks I like trainer to keep me on track with weight loss. Once I'm recovered, I will never consider coming back due poor professionalism & poor communication. Worst customer service and they make it hard to cancel your membership or to resolve any issue at that matter. I had cancelled both mine and my h husbands membership at the facility, but somehow my husband's wsa not cancelled when I cancelled both of us and we were charged again for his membership. We went in again and cancelled asked for a refund and they gave us customer services number to call for the refund and then you have to wait 30-45 minutes for a rep to answer and nothing is resolved. Not only was I somewhat pressured to try the assessment free personal training session even tho I didn't want to. But then the personal trainer "Chris" was very passive aggressive about talking about my eating habits, after all that and the workout, he pressured me to pay 50$ for personal training and when I told him I didn't have the money, he said that I have all this money for fast food and stuff but not 50$ for training, and then he told me to call my boyfriend and suggested I call my parents for money and when I told him I don't have the money, he asked me if I was actually serious about losing weight, I said yes but I don't have the money. Then he condescendingly asked me "how are you going to eat then if you don't have money" and I said I have groceries at home. He then gave up and said, call me tomorrow if you come up with the money and basically said bye. I had to walk out of the gym basically feeling attacked and shamed for not having money for personal training. Completely changed my outlook on the company and the people they hire. You don't know what people are going through and to shame someone indirectly and basically tell someone to ask other people for money is crazy. This is the second gym I've joined in the Fort Worth area and I love it. I looked around comparing pricing vs hours and this gym was the best. One of the cheapest in the area, huge area with lots of equipment, and very clean. The only slightly negative thing is when gym members don't re-rack or put up their weights, but that's not the gym's fault. read more

Good clean gym. Price is good too. My biggest complaint is the hours. I can understand that traffic through a business is based on time and days. Going from the current schedule to 24 hours may not be profitable or wide but staying open from 6am - 10pm everyday probably won't hurt business and will help a lot of customers. Honestly, the staff is pretty cool, but the gym itself has bummed me out at every turn. The hours fall short of what I was told. When I signed up I was told 24 hours was coming. When I signed up the Basketball court was a normal amenity, they recently made it a premium amenity meaning all the guys I ran with who didn't choose the more expensive membership were no longer welcome, so now there is almost no pickup games. My membership cancellation is finalized at the end of November. But what I've found is Fitness Connection is one of the only gyms with basketball courts in the area. So I guess my basketball career is over LOL. Hope my review helps people. read more

so heres a quick update, THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!!!!! so now I'm about to finish writing to the BBB for this stupid company. i just got charged an additional yearly fee for $43.30 on 11/15/19 even though i already paid for that on January 5th. according to the company since i signed up in march of 2018 for the hulen store that was originally supposed to be up and running by October i was in the October-Dec area so since the store didn't open up till January 1st and on that same week i was charged both the yearly fee and the monthly which made no sense to me but ok i already paid so my plans were to cancel this bullshit membership by December of 2019 but guess what? these jerks off are charging for 11/15 because since i signed up in 2018 my yearly fee is to be done on 11/15/19 and according to their shitty customer service they are blaming me and telling me that its my fault and that im responsible for it so they refuse to refund me my money even though i already told them that i don't even go to their stupid gym and that i was just about to send a letter out to cancel it. this company is a scam and im already getting ready to report this to the BBB. i told them i was going to dispute this charge i even went straight to the gym to talk to a manager which non were available because you need to talk to a customer service rep on the phone. but the lady who helped me even said that i should only be charged once per year and that i should get a refund but nope i told her that customer service said that its my fault and that im responsible. read more

They didn't cancel it and kept charging my checking account for a $22/ mo membership. I went to the gym three times to tell them to cancel me and return my money. Manager said on my final visit that I had to call the corporation office to terminate my membership and get my refund. ( I never did one workout there, just a visit). I had to go to my bank and have fitness Connection Hulen blocked from my checking account. Charges still kept being made. I am in love with this place! Not only is it HUGE but has so much equipment. There is even a sauna, which I am sitting in right now. Got a trainer with UBF & he is kicking my butt. I am super out of shape & getting that extra push is great. Ladies they even have a women only workout area. There are classes, even spin & a childcare area with a movie theater, tablets & toys. I moved to the area not too long ago and have loved coming to this gym. I'm glad they have a women's area that allows more space to do the workouts I enjoy. The place would get 5 stars but I had an interaction that rubbed me the wrong way. I have a service dog for vision and balance. No one is allowed to touch her and she performs her functions like she should. I've brought her in a handful of times and today unfortunately I was met an employee scoffing about her. I explained that she was a service animal and he rolled his eyes at me. It's unfortunate to be met with rudeness when you have something that affects your body and is out of your control. I come to this gym when I'm visiting my sister and for work. I live in the Houston area and frequent the Fort Worth area often because of that. I come in between 6-7am to start the day. I usually have no issues in doing so but today 3/16, seemed to be different from the experience I had with the representative at the front desk. I was here all week and had recently paid my monthly fee. For whatever reason, on the accounting and billing side of things, the cards on file aren't being automatically debited. I've spoke with customer service previously and my home gym in Houston and they've assured me, my account was fine. Today, the childlike representative with fans for lashes, chlorine bleached hair, and poor manners, asked me about my account. I told her politely that I just paid it less than a week ago. She said well you have a balance. I told her there's a card on file ending in 2800 that has been selected for autopay and to charge that card. I spoke to her in clear and concise English. I told her twice to use the card on file that ends in 2800. I'm not sure if she is developmentally delayed or if it's just poor comprehension skills, but she should probably have severe accommodations if she's going to be at the front desk. She proceeds to cop an attitude with me and turns the computer to me to show me every card I have on file and repeats every card numbers last four digits. Third time, I tell her, it seems to be an accounting issue and you need to charge the card ending in 2800. Every card on that account should work. If she charged that card or not, it wouldn't have been an issue. There also should only be one card on there. I've been charged more than the ten dollar fee for consecutive months and not one representative can tell me anything else outside that it's a billing issue or a return issue. I've sent the only two billing addresses on file (one in California and one here in Texas.) i didn't go into depth about the issue with accounting because that's clearly not something she can comprehend nor do I have time, or want to, when it's 7 in the morning and I want to enjoy my workout. She then dismissed me and says "I'll just talk to accounting you don't need to do anything else." So instead of doing what I told her the first, second, and third time, she finally gains the common sense to just charge the card. Instead of being argumentative for 3 whole minutes, she could've just pressed the button to debit the card on file. I was here all week and no one said a thing about my billing at this location, so why are we discussing it now? Either, your employees aren't doing their job, lack comprehension skills, people skills, or, just don't give a damn. There is a way to approach people when there may be an issue with billing. There is also a way to do your job effectively and efficiently. I understand she may be having a hard time, hate her job, or just chooses to be willingly ignorant in her position, but it's not acceptable. I genuinely like this location and have a great time being here when I'm in town, but after this incident and how she represented Fitness Connection, it's a hard pass. I signed up online for a membership because of the sole reason that I saw online there was a kids club. (Which did not specify the age range although I did look for it and could not find it). I come in (with my 8 month old baby in his stroller) and as I'm walking in the guy at the desk gave me the dirtiest look not knowing I was looking directly at him.
