I bought a treadmill from Fitness Central with a supposed "lifetime warranty" in October 2020. I GROSSLY overpaid for it, but I felt that I was supporting a local business and guaranteeing that I would receive quality service in a timely manner. When I received a maintenance message, I contacted the store and was told that my concern was a "user responsibility." I was further advised to consult Google or YouTube for advice. This is a complicated piece of machinery. I was inexperienced with such a task and worried for my future safety. This is UTTERLY REPREHENSIBLE. read more

This is the best bike shop in the Lehigh Valley, and let me explain why. I moved here about a year ago and wanted to get a bike.The first place I stopped was Fitness Central because it's close to my house. I really had no idea what I was looking at, and they were super busy, so head mechanic Brian came to see if I needed any help. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable, but also friendly and was able to explain everything in a way I could really understand. He led me to the right bike, and I still feel that way today 6 months later. Now, they didn't have my bike in stock and I really wanted to ride it, so I found other bike shops in the area that did have in stock bikes I could ride that were among what I was considering. In my search in other bike shops I found they just didn't compare to FC. One of the other bike shops was downright rude, and others just didn't offer the same service that FC does, or they want to charge you for these services. So why did I come back and order a bike from FC when I could have walked out with the same bike that day from another bike shop? It's about what all you get included in your bike purchase. FC is the only shop i've ever been to that includes a LIFETIME service plan with your bike purchase. All of the other local shops want to sell you this service for a limited amount of time at a cost of hundreds of dollars. No joke, shop around, I know I did. FC includes additional money for you to use for accessories like helmet, pedals, clothes, bags, whatever. This ranges from $50 to $200 depending on the price point of your bike. Now, other shops discount the MAP of bikes roughly the same as the credit that FC offers, and FC will sell you the bike at MAP, so this could be considered a wash when comparing. However, I think it's really cool that you can walk out of the store with extra stuff without paying any extra money. Lets face it, nobody has ever bought a bike without needed some kind of accessory. Last, and to me most importantly, I came back because of the people that work there. Everybody who works here is nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. I've only been in a handful of times, yet every time I walk in the door every employee there greets me by name. No matter who helps you, you'll feel welcomed and comfortable. From Steve the owner, who you wouldn't even know is the owner he's so down to earth, to Rob the bike shop manager who did a wonderful job on my bike fit, you'll be in good hands. Having just bought my 2nd bike from them yesterday, I know my good experience the first time wasn't a fluke, and I can honestly give FC 5 stars. I walked in having researched a bike that I thought I wanted, and ended up buying a different bike that I didn't even know existed based on the recommendations of the employees that work at FC. They were able to show me why it was a better fit for me and what I wanted to do with it while still keeping me at the same price point as the bike I wanted when I first walked in. So this wasn't an upsale, this was simply putting customer satisfaction first by getting somebody into something they would ultimately be happier with, and I can't thank them enough for that. FC has been to our house a few times to fix fitness equipment. They've always been great. Recently, I thought that I'd have to give them a bad review. After a repair visit in which they replaced things that "could go wrong" as well as a part that was clearly not right. Almost as soon as they left, the same errors started coming up on the machine. And then other errors appeared. I called FC very upset. Within a few days, they sent another technician who replaced another part. The unit seemed OK while he was here, but started getting the errors after he left. I called again. This time, they went back to the manufacturer and got them to make good on the unit including no charges for the 2nd and 3rd repairs. Well done, Fitness Central. I recently bought a new Trek from FC, Head Mechanic Brian was great in helping me pick out the perfect bike. I loved the outdoor test track which had all kinds of riding surfaces. They were very professional as they showed me what work needed to be done before giving me an estimate of the total cost. when I picked up the bike, they again showed me what they did to it and even deducted $5 from the estimate because certain work did not need to be done. now my bike rides great. i'll be back. read more

Such a refreshing feeling from the big box stores where you end up talking to someone who may or may not actually know the products they are selling and are just waiting to punch the time clock. I was greeted with a friendly staff that could easily answer all my questions. I can't say enough for shopping at a place where I leave feeling like I got exactly what was right for me without the pressure of the "up-sale"! There's a reason you should deal with a specialized seller of fitness equipment (as in Fitness Central)...reason being, great all-around customer service (sales and service) and quality products. Three years ago I purchased a Landice Treadmill and last year I purchased a Vision Fitness U40 Upright Stationary Bike from Fitness Central. I paid a little over $4,000 for the Landice Treadmill (Lifetime warranty parts and labor) and about $1200 for the bike (plus a $99 five year parts and repair warranty). Granted, neither piece of equipment was inexpensive (and I'm not a wealthy guy), but I figured I'd be better off avoiding the big chain brands and their problematic products. Although neither piece was near top of the line for their particular brand, both Landice and Vision Fitness are best-in-class brands and highly rated. I'd like to note, the treadmill as well as the bike each gets used regularly and used heavily by me, my two athletic kids and regularly by a neighbor (and her two kids when home from college). The three times I had personnel from Fitness Central out to my home for service calls (to include one today), they delivered just as they promised on the days I purchased the bike and the treadmill. When I made the purchases, Steve, the owner of Fitness Central, promised me the Landice and the U40 were quality pieces that would stand up to heavy use. He said the life time warranty spoke for itself and the U40's $99 service plan would be hard to beat. He was right, and he was right about his Fitness Central Service Personnel. As for those few service needs, scheduling was painless; personnel always arrives at the time promised; they're friendly, knowledgeable, neat and clean in doing the work. Further, nothing beats that lifetime warranty or a maintenance plan that covers as promised. This review is legit. I'm not a "plant". I chose Fitness Central because of their reputation and I'm posting my first ever on-line review of anything because I want to acknowledge their great products and great service in an age of crap products and crap customer service. for the price the service was great. the selection is limited to the Trex line, but they do a good job explaining why you should be riding a Trex. For the higher end bikes they offer a custom fit process -- anyone can get the fit, but it is included with the higher prices bikes. The fit process is worth the effort for someone that intends to ride a lot -- might not be for the casual rider, but it sure makes a difference. The people in the shop give out information and help you get to be a better rider. The maintenance on the bike is included -- hard to beat that especially after 5 flats on my last bike. The other plus is that the personnel are not changing every week. You can know who is working on your bike. read more
