I've been attempting to cancel my membership and I was told first the amount of my cancelation followed by the amount I'd be charged this month. Imagine my surprise when it was just my monthly fee. I reached out again and it was stated that I would be canceled next month and charged my remaining balance. When I asked why I wasn't canceled this month I was told that they couldn't help me becuse I needEd to reach out to my club branch to do this. The staff at Fitness 2000 and amenities are good for the low monthly cost, however, it is ABC Financial that is the issue here. Do your research, and if they are still contracted under ABC Financial, please do not sign-up for a membership at any of their locations as it is a scam. I had signed up years ago for a one-year contract because I knew I would be moving away and just needed a temporary gym membership at the time. When it eventually was time for me to move, I had been told by an ABC Financial representative that I had "renewed my contract for another two years." That was impossible. I knew I would not be living in Ft. Worth for more than a year. Even when I had quoted her from the contract copy I had in my hands, she said she was, "reading from my new contract," and did not send me a copy of said "new contract" after requesting it. Eventually, the only way I could get out of my membership was literally by moving to another state where there was not a location within a 25-mile radius. They also required proof of new residency to get out of the contract. I had to provide my change of address form and a letter explaining why I was discontinuing my membership in order to get out of the fee. The fee is whatever monthly payments are left on your account in total. DO. NOT. SIGN-UP. read more

Crappy place. The manager insinuated that he could get me a discount/visit to the cryotherapy in their shopping center so after getting my membership he acted like I was nuts when I asked him about me trying it. Their trainers charge 140.00 a month for 4 visits to sit there and look at you while you work out. The 1st time I worked out with one he said he would write everything down. He didn't. Another guy redid them with stupid stuff I couldn't do as I've had back surgery twice with knee issues. When trying to setup your appointments with them they don't get back to you. I was 3 weeks behind on their "Sit ins" and decided enough was enough. Had to close my debit card so they would quit charging it. Good thing I used a throwaway card just in case. I would never go here again with such inconsistent, incompetence and unreliable kids. read more

Magically, ABC financial produces a 2-yr contract with my signature at the bottom. I concede. I was tricked, but I concede. After the 2-yrs are up, I call again and now I'm getting the run-around. Be careful before you sign up with Fitness 2000. It is almost impossible to cancel! They asked me to send a cancelation letter to ABC Financial, which I did and got confirmation my account was canceled but they refused to provide me with proof it was canceled! They sold the club to Blink Fitness which kept charging me, refused to cancel my account unless I paid more money! They also do not have a phone number where you could contact them. I like to think I am a fairly reasonable person. So understand that when I say this I mean it. This company is one of the most misleading and out right fraudulent companies I have ever done business with. Month to month for $10. I get billed 12.99. No contract or committment. I come to find out I apparently agreed to a 2 year contract. With $50 annual fees. And when I try to cancel they do the most to make it the most difficult process. I am reading the reviews on this page and I am in awe at how many people are in the same boat as me. This company has no moral compass and its whole business model is built on tricking people out of their money. 24 hr fitness just got done with a class action lawsuit where they were shelling out millions of dollars for misleading their customers. If I could give 0 stars I would. I have paid for our family of 3 for at least 4 years. This gym is never clean, so I use 2 towels to clean each machine I use (1 for cleaning, 1 for drying). Tonight I was told they no Longer give out towels and I need to bring my own. They have a few machines that have some jacked cup holders holding spray bottles , just a few, and 1 used towel. I was staring at 100 clean towels... they could have told me the new policy and given me the towels for this visit but in the future you will need to bring your own. But clearly they don't understand customer service. When asked to cancel they handed me a piece of paper with a phone number to call. Took me 10 minutes to get someone on the phone. Then she told me each person had to call themselves. After I told her they never signed anything, I did and it was on my credit she informed me I had to mail a certified letter. So they get you at every turn. Seems crazy when there are 2 brand new gyms within 2 miles either direction that also have $10 a month memberships. If you are reading this I would advise to to check out one of the newer gyms. Don't waste your time or money here. read more

I paid for a year in advance last November just to be charged another 35-40 bucks for an annual finance fee for ABC Finicial. When I called and said I paid cash for a year, they told me it was an annual processing fee. I was shocked....seeing they aren't not performing any processing on an already paid in full account. Also, they seem to have forgotten how to turn the AC on. It's HUMID and HOT in this gym. The place is filthy, overcrowded, and definitely not worth $9 per month. Dirty.... yes that is the first word.... I go here because my partner attends the class so I'm kind a forced to use this facility. 1. The bench is oily so I don't use it....yuckkkkk you can see the head part shining line a new car. 2. The floor is dusty --- seems like they seldom clean it 3. No paper towel to wipe the equipment. They provide towels that is already wet or damped because it had been used multiple times - the germs/bacteria is already on the towel... don't know if they replace it 4. Lighting - they fixed it a few weeks ago 5. Bathroom- finally they fixed the hand dryer. But no paper towel, sometimes there is but more often it is missing. No one cleans or restock the supply regularly. It stinks...it just stinks. 6. Treadmill machines etc... the place to put your key/cellphone is usually damp,,,,, the heck!!! 7. Lots of young adults in the early evening --- already crowded. Usually crowded on the freeform weights area--- stay on the machines and bring your own wipes 8. Search 'what is MRSA' this may be a breeding ground for MRSA. 9. BRING or wear gloves to protect yourself if ever you want to use this facility 10. I avoid this but then again, my wife wants to attend the classes.... I go to TFF -- clean and bright ... again you need to see and compare...the other one on 377 and TarRant appears to be the best choice at this time but I maybe wrong because it is still new. ME, I will stay at TFF... 11. F2k is closer to home....hopefully they fix/update/clean the facility often ... please hire a full time janitor/cleaner. Great place to work out, I've been going to fitness 2000 for about 4 years. Started out at the one on beach for about 3 years then switched to the one on heritage about a year ago. Staffs always friendly, they answer questions and give tips and take the time to answer questions. When equipment goes down they usually have it fixed fairly quick and it's always clean. I know a lot of people have an issue when they go to cancel their membership because I heard it's a pain but you can't write a bad review based on that ‍ read more

We have had a very bad experience with Fitness 2000. We joined this gym with no contract & it was just a automatic monthly payment. It sounded good until we tried to cancel. That's when we found out they wrote a contract without our consent. There is no signature on the contract but instead someone wrote 4 numbers where the signature line is on the bottom. We have tried to resolve this with the area manager and have had no help whatsoever. So sad!!!! read more

Dear Fitness 2000, I have been a member with you for 5+ years, I have brought COUNTLESS members your way, and sang your praises from the social media hilltops. But last Friday I lost my headphones and they were stolen right in front of the camera. We are not talking wired headphones that cost eight dollars we are talking Mac daddy beat studio wireless sound canceling headphones. I've reached out to 8 of your employees including your manager at heritage trace (who happen to put in her two weeks and decided I wasn't good enough for a phone call) and I have also reached out to and emailed your regional manager and left him two notices to call me for a simple camera check on that day. I have gone to 3 different locations to chase him down as well... Here we are two days later after that sent email and it is crickets from everybody! You could be the cheapest gym in the world and have all the great equipment that you want but if your customer service skills suck then your business sucks! I'm highly disappointed to call you my gym. Your whole business is SUPPOSE to evolve around your customers and if you can't provide a simple service as checking cameras or a DAMN PHONE CALL so I can get my $400 headphones back then you're not in business for the people. Don't let the initial price fool you. They will wrap you up in a contract with all kinds of fine print and garbage. Yearly fees that are not told to you up front. I had to send a certified letter with 39 pages of documentation to get a contract stopped even after the terms when it was month to month. Even after I cancelled they still charged me the yearly fee since it came at the very end of the additional 30 day cancelled extension they place on you. So I am paying long after I cancelled. As far as working out at the facility, I have no problems. What I do have a problem with is I have tried to cancel my membership several times and am STILL being charged. I have called the facility on Heritage Trace, was asked to send a letter to ABC Financial and cancel, did that and just recieved another email saying I owe money for an account I have tried to cancel for months. Buyer Beware - bad business. My credit card charged numerous times more than the monthly contract amounts of $9.94. The last two amounts were $19.48 and $29.24. There is no one to call as the accounting person whomworks from home won't give them Fit2K a phone number. Spoke to Shawna asking why these charges. Response was she would have to send email to accounts@fit2k.com. Private individual who has access to your financial records. I asked questions to cancel my membership, a man took the phone out of her hands and hung up on me. Called back, he hung up on me again when I told him who I was. I called a third time to this location, phone rang. I called a 4th time, the same man answered, said he just clocked in, there were no other male employees there. I asked to talk with Shawna, he put me on hold, 11 minutes, then my call was routed to automated attendant, to leave a message. I called the Basswood location. You know it's kind of sad because I think the gym is great, and the $10/month is a phenomenal price. No complaints about the facility or payments while we were using the gym. But like the others have said before me, this place is a scam. It all should be illegal really what they're doing. My only hope is someone will see this review prior to signing up and go somewhere else, so they don't make the same mistake I did. Here is my story: Used this gym for 2+ years and it was great. We decided to start doing Camp Gladiator in March, then I realized I forgot to update my payment info for gym payments after my debit card expired. (expired in March, realized this in May, so 2 months behind) This was my fault, and after several calls from ABC Financial I realized that this needed to be fixed. I first called the gym, and then they told me I need to call ABC Financial to cancel. I called ABC Financial on May 26th to pay my balance in full and cancel both of our memberships. I was told I can't cancel over the phone, and I need to send a certified letter in the mail to a PO box in Arkansas stating why we would like to cancel. This is incredibly stupid and one of the worst business practices I've ever heard, but whatever. I paid my balance over the phone that day (funny you can pay the balance but not cancel over the phone) and within next week sent the certified letter explaining why I wanted to cancel per their request. Note, I requested to pay all membership balances and cancel all memberships in my request. Fast forward to today, June 26th, a full month later. I receive an email stating that my account will be closed once I pay off the remaining balance, which was ~$10. No problem, immediately log in and pay. Then I receive another email stating that my wife's account (which a month earlier I had requested to be paid off and cancelled over the phone, AND sent in official request to be cancelled via mail) had been sent to collections. I call ABC Financial to ask why, and apparently my wife's account had a balance, even though I specifically asked to pay off that balance and cancel the account on 5/26. So they ignored my request to pay this off and cancel the account. They also stated that they sent multiple emails and phone calls to satisfy the account which is a lie, I only provided my email address to them on 6/18 while creating an online account and received 0 emails, also received 0 phone calls after reaching out to them on 5/26. I escalated the situation twice while on the phone, with no help from anyone. Apparently I can't pay the amount on my account because the account has been sent to collections, and they cant reverse it even though it was their fault. Eventually the Supervisor told me that she would call me back once she received more info from her supervisor, and hung up on me before I could ask when I can expect a resolution. So I call the collections company because I didn't trust ABC to call back. The collections company have no record of my account and they're unable to tell me anything. So I can't pay. So just to recap, I'm 55 minutes on the phone in. (and 7 calls total over a month period) I've talked to 4 people today (3 from ABC, 1 from collections) and I'm unable to pay my bill or cancel my account with anyone. This is my 2nd unsuccessful attempt to pay my bill over the phone and cancel my account in addition to a written certified letter, and there is an active request to send my account to collections because of lack of payment. Laughable. This is a scam people. They make it incredibly hard for you to cancel your membership, charge you outrageous late fees. Don't put yourself through this hell. Go elsewhere for your gym. read more

BE WARNED:: YOUR CONTRACT IS BINDING & when you want to CANCEL a freaking simple GYM membership, you have to give a 60 day notice (ridiculous!) if you move you have to provide a SIGNED COPY of a lease agreement or some other form of what should be PRIVATE information! The cancelation policy at this gym was such a pain it's not even worth it. You will be required to send in a letter via certified mail to cancel your membership. When I walked into the gym, and filled out a cancelation form I was never informed of this step so it took another month to get someone on the phone to explain this part of the cancellation policy. The next month a different amount on a different date was drafted! They require a certified letter sent to their corporate office to cancel your membership, even AFTER that the fees continued to be drafted (never knowing how much or when) Finally I went to my bank and when I said I needed to put a stop a business from drafting from my account, the banker asked what type of business, I said a gym. First off, this gym is not that great. It is small and the equipment is very old! I tried to look past all of that because of the low monthly membership fee, but ultimately, you get what you pay for. I decided to join a nicer gym to get more out of my workouts and to also have a sauna available to me! It is amazing how they are able to sign you up at the gym, but they are unable to process your cancellation there. I was given a number to call for ABC financial. Upon making this phone call: * I discovered that I still have to pay membership dues for another 2 months. * They cannot cancel your membership on the phone. * You MUST cancel by certified mail ONLY or they will not accept it. Not only is this inconvenient, but it is costly as well! Just because a place charges low fees doesn't mean that it's going to save you money! I am embarrassed to have done business with this place. This place is exactly what you pay for. The employees are extremely unhelpful and unprofessional. The manager was clueless and rude to me when I wanted to cancel/freeze my account. He referred to me as a "Just a 20 year old" and proceeded to talk down to me as a customer, all I wanted to do was stop paying for an account I don't use. The equipment is worn and dirty in most cases, and there is one disgusting water fountain. As you can see, I recommend paying a little more for an ACTUAL gym membership. read more
