Have to highlight the manager Franklin! Have gone to this gym for years and love the sense of community at the gym with everyone being so welcoming and supportive of my fitness journey read more

Most of the time members are courteous toward other members. But there are way too many folks who sit on machines and just read what's on their cell phones, with total disregard for others who want to use the machines. When I ask if they are almost done using the machine most will say they are, but some refuse to get off, and take their merry time while they continue to read their cell phones. There needs to be a policy that states that members must not monopolize a machine. read more

So this continues. She occupies a popular treadmill for 30 minutes then leaves and drapes her towel over the display. Leaves for an hour to the main workout area. Returns to the treadmill, removes the towel and her water bottle and leaves the gym! So apparently the treadmill is a convenient place to store her towel. In the meantime, staff is aware of this. Please pay attention. There are other members that would like to use this machine. read more

Between the Arboles location and this one (all due respect to Arboles), this one is better. More equipment, more spacious, cool staff. Sometimes machines are out of order or the water fountain filter needs to get changed, but very minuscule things to be a Karen about. Like, if someone is on your machine and you're frustrated, just do some push ups bro. Find another exercise to do while you wait read more

The machines are great, but don't shower lol. The showerheads are held together by hair ties and completely broken. All of them. It was a pretty gross shower too. I found it annoying that I asked the sales person straight out if there were any other fees since the promotion advertised no enrollment fee. He said no, then halfway through signing the paperwork on the computer he mentioned the yearly fee every may .. I thought that was very misleading and not ok. I signed anyway because at $4 a month it was worth it just be in the AC. read more

Yesterday I came in on a 3 day promotional pass, the guy at the front helped me and told me about signing up month to month, when I was done with my workout he went to lunch. They offered to have someone else help me but I realized I forgot my wallet and needed a credit card to sign up. They said no worries, we will get a credit card from you tomorrow and will honor the month to month promotion. I came in today and while I was at the desk with Christian the worker at a desk behind him said you were here yesterday! You can't go month to month, you have to pay annually. I said to him they told me they'd honor it. I didn't have my wallet yesterday and he just shook his head and said NO! I grabbed my things and left. But judging the other reviews here probably for the better. What a horrible experience. read more

Third weekend in a row that they're late to open! The manager says it's being dealt with but that's clearly a lie. I truly urge you to change your hours. Will be canceling my membership read more

One of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. So I was out of town a lot and tried to cancel my membership but they said I had to go there in person. I cancelled my credit card and then they called me up to pay up I told them I tried to cancel. So the bitch said I had to pay the overdo balance then, magically that would allow me to finally cancel my membership. I wasn't going to give to these slime balls so they sent me to a collection agency charging me $200 for a $22 bill. They call and text try to extort that money several times a day and bombard my email. It's infuriating and I fucking hate Fitness19 read more

I debated whether to post this, as it's not something I typically do. However, this is an ongoing issue I've experienced on multiple occasions. During several visits to the gym, I've had repeated disturbances involving the woman with pink hair who works at the front desk. On numerous occasions, her conversations and laughter have been excessively loud to the point where I can hear her across the gym while wearing noise canceling headphones and working out in the barbell area. For someone in a work environment, she seems more focused on socializing than actually doing her job. I've also noticed that she will sometimes sit in the Vault and talk with her friends while clocked in, leaving no one at the front desk to help members. Multiple people have walked in without scanning in when she's there, and honestly, I've even debated canceling my membership because it feels like I could just walk in regardless, she's not doing her job. These repeated issues detract from the experience members are paying for and expect. read more

A horrible gym with a terrible manager named Teddy. I had called 6months ago to cancel my membership as the online form needed an agreement number that I did not have. Over the phone the staff member asked if I was sure I wanted to cancel or pause and I said cancel. My understanding of it was they had canceled my membership. As months passed and I moticed an annual fee last month I called and asked about the charge. Teddy said there is nothing they could do and it was a misunderstanding. I asked to just waive the annual fee as I have not attended the gym in one 6 months and thought I canceled. He said the monthly and annual fee could not be canceled. He gave no other options. I guess they like taking your money and not admitting to fault. I've never seen a business run like this. Really sad. read more

4-22-2025 Another day that the gym doesn't open at 4am like it's supposed too. This has been an ongoing issue ever since I joined back in 2023. It's hard to maintain a fitness routine when the gym can't keep maintain regular hours of operation .. I just recently got charged my "anual fee" plus the monthly fee and Im feeling ripped off . read more

Everyone is nice and definitely like the classes the in instructors are great and helpful with goals and alrernative exercise to avoid injury. Recommend the body sculpt with Brandy or Sara. Kickboxing is also great! One thing I would like to see that some of the heavyweights are left on the floor or machines so if you are a woman that's kind of hard to remove. Also some of the dispensers with antibacterial wipes are empty and should be well stocked. read more

This company is a fraud!! canceled my membership in Feb 25 I was going over my bank statements and they are still billing me after they closed my account. DO not join up with them as you will be paying forever. I have called local law enforcement as this is fraud and will be speaking to my bank on Monday this is a shame business Go somewhere else read more

I love this gym, sometimes it's busy yes, but the gym community is great. The manager here always makes sure the machines are working and if they're not, the machine is only down a couple days. I really enjoy the amenities as well like the massage chairs and the red light therapy. The only thing, I do wish it had a sauna but the massage chairs are just fine! I've been constantly going for seven months, yay me! read more

Braeden one of the employees here, who is not a manger is on a power trip and should not be interacting with the members at all. They should have him on cleaning duty if they don't fire him soon. Braeden was super rude and disrespectful to me, then he told on me to his manager so he could try to save face because I told him I was going to leave a bad review. Braeden you have no power here at all, not sure why you act like it and are so angry, you are not even a manager. I do like the managers here they are very nice so I'm sorry to write this negative review, but if Braeden is no longer up front or stops working here in general I'll change my review. read more

My favorite gym to come too. Everything is organized and always a friendly environment

Amazing Staff! And all of the equipment was super clean and ready to go. Had a great workout and the employees made it easy to have that, I will definitely be back! read more

Can get pretty busy at times when everyone is off of work, but it's to be expected for a gym this inexpensive. I don't have any complaints as most of these staff is very friendly and welcoming too. read more

This gym needs attention. The showers haven't been cleaned for months , the wipe dispensers are always empty, the front desk staff never greets you when coming in , They're always chatting with their coworkers or friends. Getting a cleaning crew is urgent here. read more

The owner doesn't take care of the equipment or the cleaning of the gym. They should really get a new cleaning crew that will actually clean. I'm not sure why we should have to pay our annual fee if the owners can't even take care of the gym. Some of the staff even drink on the job. read more

I have no idea why this Fitness 19 is rated so low. This gym compared to the Bay Area is amazing. All the equipment feels new, high ceilings, open space, big screen tvs, and amazing amenities. I cat believe they have a tanning room along with a red light room. SoCal fitness 19 are so lucky compared to NorCal. Strongly recommend this fitness 19 if you want a quick lift. read more

I love this gym. Love the convenience, the updated machines, the vault, the atmosphere....but only during the day. The night time is a different story. Any time I ask if I could use one of the amenities that I pay monthly for I get a nasty attitude preceded by being completely ignored. It's a few workers at night. There is one worker that shuts everything off 10 minutes before closing and starts clapping her hands, and points to her watch to try and corral the paying gym members out of the facility. Another one of the workers is super loud and extremely vulgar. Not sure what is going on with her. I love this place and sometimes I don't have the luxury to go in the day. read more

Great little gym, lots of good classes. Both at Newbury Park location and in Moorpark. And it's low cost and always friendly.

First time going to this gym and it is so dirty! The equipment feels sticky, no one cleans the machines or weights after themselves i was shocked!!! windows and restrooms are dirty.... THIS GYM NEEDS ATTENTION! read more

Pretty good gym overall, really friendly staff. Pretty decent selection of equipment. Their personal trainers really know what they're doing. If you are looking for a trainer I'd highly recommend Franklin. read more

I dont like to write negative review but I have no choice. I only come to this gym for its classes because I like their instructors. What gym doesnt have working speakers for more than 2 weeks and the managment or who ever is responsible wont take any actions . How is this fair to members or instructors to deal with . Each instructor has been bringing their own speakers. first of all it takes the tome of the class to set it up secondly the sound and volume is not the same. Very disappointing. This gym always has issues with its speakers. Maybe its time to finally either get new speakers or bring a technicians to fix the issue once and for all the right way I just need my voice to be heard so the problem can get solved read more

Beware for signing anything with this gym!! I signed up for a membership then the next day I got injured. I went back to the gym I signed up and went to cancel it until i recovered. It was within California 72hours right to cancel contract. The gal at the desk said no problem it canceled. The next thing I get in the mail is a collection letter stating I was reported to the credit agency until I pay $225.52. I never used the gym once. They are liars and crooks. Shame on them. They need to refund me my money. read more

New gym under very poor management. Gym is kept very dirty especially tanning and red light machines, gym staff hanging out upfront doing nothing. No one cleans the facilities, people bring bags and leave them all over. read more

Recently the gym has been a mess. The workers are lazy and they look like they don't want to be there. Also make sure you check your payment history on your membership. They had a random account On mine and had been charging it for about 4 months. Had to have one of the kids there remove it and correct it to mine. The gym needs more machines. read more

This is the 4th or 5th time the opener has been late! Why is he still opening! They need someone mature to open or they need a manager to open up! We pay for the gym to be open at 4 not 5-5:30! Unprofessional! Also I've never seen a gym so dirty! The trash cans are always overfilled by 3pm. The workers here are grown to take the trash out. Gym is just going downhill at this point. read more

I have worked out at a number of fitness 19 locations and Moorpark is by far the best I have seen. In fact, Fitness 19 is not only the best Fitness 19, it's the best mainstream gym in the area. It is one of the nicer, newer and larger gyms in the eastern part of the county at least. This location has ample free weights, machines and cardio as well as a several studios and classes to match. More than other gyms, I see that the staff takes care of the equipment, so when stuff breaks it's fixed fairly quick. The only drawback with this gym is that it can get quite busy Mon-Thurs from 4 to 7 or 8 pm. While I see people of all ages here, the crowd does skew a bit young, especially in the late afternoon to evening. However, in in general the kids are friendly and respectful to the OGs like me. read more

This used to be the cleanest gym I had been to in a LONG time but it's sadly going downhill. Treadmills are dirty and locker rooms have shoes and clothes left behind. There's some remodeling being done but you'll need to pay more to access those areas. It's not the worst gym I've ever been to, but it's not as good as it was 6-12 months ago. read more

The manager Teddy Cooper of the Moorpark Location is exemplary of managers anywhere. He is always so helpful, catering to any of my questions. Relates well with attendees. I find him knowledgeable, dependable in follow up and extremely kind and courteous at all times! I would recommend this gym location to anyone based on how he oversees everything! Special mention to Lance K. and DJ and the rest of the staff as their front desk disposition is extremely kind and helpful as well! Joe L. read more

I have been going to this fitness 19 for 3 years. I have never had issues about the showers since I workout before I go to work. For the last month and a half, I have continually reported that the first shower is clogged. In the past it would be fixed within a week. Now it has been over a month pushing six weeks with constant reminders with the reply being that they are working on it. When it is busy and there are only two showers working, this makes it inconvenient to Workout and get to my job in time. I would not recommend joining here. The only saving grace is the front desk worker, Sean, who is always very polite with his answers about the showers. He is always very friendly and wants to make your workout experience the best each day. I will give it another week or so to see if the shower situation gets fixed, as this is a health hazard for a gym. read more

Been a member for almost a year now, and my satisfaction with this location has been deteriorating as time goes on. Since my beginning months, there was more than a handful of times that the gym didn't open on time with more than a dozen cars parked outside waiting, at times over 45 minutes... This location has never been the cleanest, however most recently it has begun to look like a total dump. Floors go weeks without being vacuumed, trash cans are always full, disinfection wipe dispensers are always empty, trash is always found throughout the gym for days, equipment is never reset at end of day. Ultimately, I've had an unsatisfactory experience here, and the fact that there is no customer service 800 phone number or email to address concerns is not ideal as all complaints are addressed to the gym manager, which is upon their own discretion to resolve the situation. Check it out for yourself... read more

This gym used to be so friendly and clean back then and now it's just all downhill. The managers and half of their staff always look high. I don't understand what they're doing in this gym, taping off almost every stair master machine just for it to sit there and collect more dust. If you're going to tape off machines, get rid of them. read more
