5 minutes ago NEW Stay far away from this place. The company itself has no ethics, and the management is sub par to say the least. They'll charge you for services they don't even offer, and then refuse to reimburse once you catch them in their fraudulent act. The "manager" at this location (Todd) refuses to take calls, and makes his front desk staff argue about contractual disputes. In a nutshell, I was basically told that Fitness 1440 can't just hand money out to people. Keep in mind, I was consistently charged for services this gym doesn't even offer, and continually charged even after my membership had been canceled. I guess they're ok taking your money, but giving back is just too much to ask . There's plenty of other main stream fitness centers with an actual corporate office out there, so do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. read more

Update 2/15/21 So, our account was canceled 5/30/20 and I have the email to prove it. Fast forward to November 2020 and we were charged $27.95. I emailed the club with the confirmation that our account was canceled - no response. Called the club directly and was told it was my husband's account, it was canceled while I was on the phone, and we should be receiving a refund. No refund arrived. I had to dispute it through our credit card company and THAT'S how we got refunded. Fast forward to January 2021, and ANOTHER $27.95 shows up as charged. Bypassed the club because apparently they don't know how to process refunds, disputed it through our credit card company AGAIN, and got refunded. Now we're getting calls from the finance company (ABC Financial) wanting us to update our financial information. We talked to them today and they have the cancellation FROM 8 MONTHS AGO, BUT won't cancel our account because apparently we have to talk to the club directly. What? You have the cancellation confirmation but you won't cancel our accounts because...we have to talk directly to the club....the same club that has now canceled our accounts three different times? What an epic waste of time. read more

Don't waste your money here. They want $50+ a month for a small gym that has 0 amenities. PLUS a $50 yearly fee. No pool, steam room, sauna, and classes are an additional cost. The only good thing about this gym is the fact that it's not very busy which makes sense because of the price. They recently raised prices too which is laughable. JEREMY is a jerk who you can tell feels entitled being a "manager". Basically tells you too bad so sad, cancel if you have a problem with the price increase and then says he doesn't have anyone higher than him you can speak with. Guy needs a lesson on customer service and retention. If you do go here, don't work with Jeremy. The other managers are much nicer and willing to help. read more

Horrible experience with this club! I never even heard of this club, but they apparently bought all my info from Youfit when they closed, AND continued to bill me! I have never heard of this club, have no idea where they are and have never used it! When I saw the charges on my bank account I called them and was transferred five times for over 1 1/2 hours! Trying to get out of this contract is virtually impossible! I just resorted to my bank to stop all payments to this horrible fitness center. Stick with reputable gyms even if they cost more! This place is unbelievable! Never had an experience like this with any merchant... Usually places will make canceling very easy and smooth because they want to win you as a customer for life... Once again Manager Todd (as has been stated in other reviews) clearly does not know what he is doing. Maybe some training would help him? I've managed different gyms for years and when someone puts in their 30 day notice, they are welcomed back with open arms till their membership is complete. Not the case here. I put my cancellation in on 2/8 and immediately all my privileges were taken away. The day I showed up before hours and couldn't get in the doors, the Manager Todd was there, let me in, and told me he would fix the account. Not the case. Awful customer service. I worked out with my personal trainer at this gym for a total of two weeks. I signed up for month to month, Jeremy purposefully locked me into a 2 year contract! I gave my notice to cancel my membership and now I'm getting hassled for overdue payment, late fees and threats to send me to collections. Mind you, I worked out in this facility for 2 weeks! I paid my upfront dues as expected. They want to continue to charge me even though I AM DONE THERE! Read all the reviews and see the trend. Horrible horrible business, I'm very disappointed and would never have joined this gym knowing this would be a hassle. New gym in town, sign up was quick and easy. They even helped me set up my heart rate monitor. Place has lots of equipment, and everything is brand new. Staff was friendly and very knowledgeable . They also have a outdoor section to workout in. And the place is very clean. read more

Gym has had broken equipment since I signed up about 4-6 months ago. Putting in multiple requests to get it fixed. They also have no available area to warm up/cool down or do anything besides a weight machine due to their scheduling of fitness classes during peak times. read more

Taking advantage of people during a global pandemic!!! First of all, I signed up for a membership with Desert Fitness 4 years ago because they were a small, family-owned business that only required a paper contract that was so transparent (no hidden fees) I was so happy with them because it was $9.99 a month and $50 every June. So this new abcfitness business came across my bank account and I was like what the heck is this? Random charges of $50+ then another $10 then $26 every month... I NEVER SIGNED A LEGAL CONTRACT WITH THEM. DONT HAVE A GYM MEMBERSHIP WITH THEM! I don't live in this area anymore. I was under the impression that the gyms were closed due to gov Ducey's orders so idk how they could have even charged me for this "gym" that's literally still under construction and isn't even fully usable. So I finally went down to cancel this "membership". I asked how they were Even able to do this and they said Desert Fitness sold them my information (didn't even know this was legal) but I said I'm canceling this. He told me he did not have the ability to do so, (like seriously what?!!?!) "only his manager did", but his manager wasn't in. He made me write my info on a sticky note, yeah, a STICKY NOTE, and said his manager would call me within two days. Never happened. I drove 40 min to cancel a membership I didn't even know I had, and they still havent done it. Literally might record myself next time I go down there since they are straight up dishonest and deceitful. Now I have had to pay for stop payments for this shady shady shady business!!! Don't go here!!! Clearly, I'm not the only person saying this on multiple review platforms. This should speak volumes of the "business" they run. Pretty disappointed with the way this business is run. Be weary before joining. I joined the gym to participate in a group class that is no longer offered. I called to cancel my membership and have to buy out the rest of my contract. I understand that I signed up for a 6 month contract, but if the gym isn't able to fulfill their part of the contract by offering the class they advertised, the customer should not be penalized. I would never continue my contract with a company that does business like this, even if the class was offered again. read more

The hardest part of your workout should be the workout. It shouldn't be dealing with bad customer service from your gym. 1440 inherited Youfits customers and it was absolutely horrible - overcharged, no communication, managers gave me the runaround and wouldn't make it right eventhough I gave them every chance. Paid the $99 deposit and monthly for about 5 months; the gym closed the location. Wanted my son to ride his bike 5 additional miles to go to a second location. Did not get, even, a partial refund. So many gyms with EOS opening up a new club on Val Vista and Pecos. LA fitness Signature Club on Higley is very nice and great customer service. 1440 Fitness doubled our membership and they said the "grand opening" membership would be locked in. We (3 of us) canceled but they didn't cancel in their system and I had to deal with billing after the fact. They are a mess, rude and unprofessional. Hope the equipment fee you wouldn't return after doubling the prices helped your business. 1 month of use before shut down raised our membership and wouldn't return a yearly equipment fee. I have had a membership at this gym for a few years now. The staff have always been helpful and professional, and things have generally gone smoothly. A while back, a situation developed where I was being harassed while I was at the gym. Once this harassment started to disrupt my routine I came forward about it to the staff. The staff took my complaint very seriously and handled the situation gracefully and efficiently. I was initially concerned about retaliation from the harasser, but the gym staff and management protected my privacy and had the situation resolved very quickly. The gym staff and management have shown that they do care, and that they look out for the safety of their members. read more

Amazingly bad experience with a deceitful staff at the Gilbert location. We went in, spoke with staff about purchasing a handful of personal training sessions as a birthday gift for a teenager. The staff agreed to do this, and promised us that we would be charged for four sessions total. But then we started getting charged $180/month for personal training on top of a tripled monthly membership charge, and it's been an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE working with them. We've had over $1200 of unwarranted charges appear on our credit card bill, and a year later this is STILL not resolved. RUN AWAY from this crooked organization. UGH. read more

This gym is super clean and has all the equipment you could want, however when their customer service is as awful as it is that doesn't matter. During covid shut down last year I emailed with questions and didn't get a response but to send it to another email. Then I didn't get a response so after a month I called and they told me to email the GM which was the original email I reached out to and still didn't get a response. After I went in and got a bs answer for what I was looking for I cancelled my membership and have all the signed documents just to find out today the GM who "took care of it" didn't report it as closed and the company they use for billing is reaching out to me to collect payment. Scammed me out of my money. I was looking for another gym to switch to since VASA is getting a bit overcrowded. I came upon this gym and went in. Spoke with Mike I believe and told him I really was not ready to commit and just wanted to do a trial to see how it goes and he said that was fine because they were offering a month free and I would have plenty of time to make up my mind. So I gave him my info and tried out the gym the next day and after my workout I decided it was not for me. Did not have the basic machines I needed for my specific program I was doing at the time and the place was just too small. I ended up calling the facility the next day to let them know the gym was not for me. The rep on the phone said that he would cancel whatever plan they had me on and I thought I was done after that. I get a call the following Saturday from Mike I assume and he leaves a voicemail saying that I called wanting to cancel and that I needed to call them AGAIN and speak with him. WHY?? After receiving the message I call them back and say I am needing to speak with Mike I guess about why I cancelled. Rep said he would take my name and let him know. I NEVER GET A CALL BACK. I call again because I know how gyms work and they try to prolong the cancelling process so they can get your money and say oh well. After a week of me calling and calling I finally speak with him and tell him why I cancelled and on the phone call he claims he cancelled my trial. Im thinking we are done here but why a couple of weeks later they make a charge on my account?! I call up there and request to speak with a manager and most of the time I would get Troy who would just say oh he is not here I will tell him you called and NOTHING. It has been a good 2-3 months now and I have not heard back from anyone regarding this. I will never be back again and will tell others not to come here. read more
