I started going to BBB because if I ever got into a fight at a bar, I wanted to feel confident kicking someone's ass. Plain and simple. I'm 5'1 so... Napoleonic Complex I guess? I LOVE BBB at Bayside because well first of all there is actual parking next door for it. Parking for a classes-only gym... In QUEENS?? Unheard of. But more importantly, everyone is serious about fitness and works really hard exercising, but no one takes themSELVES too seriously. It's not a popularity contest. It's mostly young professionals who are there to do their thing, hype you up if necessary, and peace out. The music pumps you up, and like my favorite instructor Carlos says, this place encourages you to "Eat something healthy and don't be a jerk".

Cons: - Pricey - Limited Parking - Limited changing rooms - HUGE CON for me, because it makes it difficult to go to work after working out - No water fountains - They do sell water bottles, but I think it's super silly to have a gym/bootcamp, but limited access to water.

I've been wanting to try out kickboxing for sometime after reading all these great reviews and…read morehearing about it from my friends. I purchased a Groupon for 10 classes and was hooked. Sometimes they don't answer the phones but they do call you back or email within a day. I think that was the only hard part in making a first time reservation. The first twenty minutes consist of jogging, lunges, burpees, push ups, sit ups and basically anything high intensity. Then a five minute stretch and then the rest of the class is kickboxing. We use the bag for a bit and before each routine the instructors gives a breakdown on how to do each punch/kick properly. The last part of class is partner work. The classes start very promptly and end on time. Overall, it's a very fun way to exercise and all the instructors are great!

I'm someone who really never enjoyed working out and needs that extra push and patience and he gives me that. Nkem is really more than a personal trainer but also a fitness coach, checking in to see what his clients are up to to ensure healthy habits outside of his training sessions. I didn't realize how much I needed Nkem until he went on a short (well deserved) vacation and I didn't see him for a week. Even while he was away, he still made time to check in on me to ensure I was staying on track while holding me accountable for the gaps in my progress. When I lack motivation, he keeps me persistent. They told me at the front desk that after Covid their trainers went to other places & they're starting new classes again soon. Fine, but Covid was in 2020. It's literally 4yrs later. Idk the way the front desk made it seem is like, they've been telling that story for a while now. It is actually "false advertisement" & why are we paying a high monthly fee for amenities that you don't even have? *In response to your message Rosa. LHF website shows a ton of classes that you don't have- which is false advertisement. Also, NO I did not have a consultation when joining, none of the 16yr olds you have at the front desk bothered to tell me anything they were too busy on tik tok & NO it's been 3 weeks and none of your trainers called for a free workout with them, I probably would have joined up for some 1 on 1 training but I'm over it now. Also, more than half of your treadmills are broke. Just an FYI.

At no point did either employee direct us as to where anything was. I had to ask where the bathrooms were. The basement is where the cycling room is which is a room with broken equipment and cycling machines. The locker room was actually very nice and clean. They have their cardio machines on the first floor along with the two workout rooms that have a selection of weights but with absolutely no ventilation which makes it impossible to work out there. Their second floor has their machines which they do have a great variety. However, I felt like there was no ventilation either. The walls had patches of white and unfinished paint which gave the gym a weird look. There were tvs but none of them were on which didn't make sense. On our way out, the front desk returned my ID but didn't ask me anything or if I would be interested in joining. Wouldn't recommend this gym to anyone
