I dont believe the cleaning crew does any cleaning. I keep finding piles of dust on the ground each day. I'm pretty sure they are the same dust piles from the day before, unless if they accumulate a larg amount of dust quickly. I am finding quite a bit of dirt and hair on their turf area which makes it tough to get down and do stretches on. I do really enjoy their massage chair, but thats about it for good things other than the squat mirrors read more

Fit Republic - Ouchie my calves lol - Gyms Near Me - Atascadero, California

I love this gym! There's a wide array of clean and new equipment with lots of free weights. There's also a Brazilian Ju-Jitsu room and classes along with another room for fitness group classes. Everything is so clean and new, they have disinfectant all around the gym along with towels to clean the equipment you're using, but even then, I see staff members going around wiping down the machines regularly and changing out the towels as well. All the staff are very nice and will usually greet you. I go in the day time so it's fairly empty and I always get to work out on all the equipment I want to use. I believe they have a massage room but I think it's closed due to COVID. read more

Bullet point information: -misinformed info from morning employee call versus evening employee visit -one said no charge for one day visit and evening employee said that wasn't accurate -manager "Dash" did not apologize for the incorrect information or offer some sort of discount etc did not care. Very unapproachable and rude -shared my discontent (I drove two hours and planned ahead to check this gym out as I was moving into town) and manager Dash decides to walk away from me while we are having this conversation. Just walks away. As she walks away she is listing the price options making no eye contact. Rudest unprofessional behavior from a manager and lacking leadership in showing this type or behavior in front of their employees -as a business owner myself I immediately called out her inappropriate rude behavior and that is when they realized they could not treat customers this way and started to behave passive aggressively nice -I wanted to give them business but she ruined any type of desire to workout in a hostile environment -when initially asking what options were for one day visit they only listed week pass price multiple times. Never shared one day rate until we called out the inaccurate information as if they only wanted to charge the higher price. -a business who tries to secretly only charge you the higher price to visit should have better customer service if they are in need of money Recap: -Manager "Dash" extremely rude and unprofessional behavior, unapproachable. Not the type of manager a gym environment needs whatsoever -employees don't all have accurate information so double check if you ask questions -employees were nice during my engagement with them even though info was wrong -can't share on the facilities since I did not stay and went to Kennedy club and got a 100% better experience and customer service and perks like guest pass for family/friends who visit me. read more

Great, clean, modern, and well-equipped gym. Personal training and class options (mornings and evenings) have recently expanded, so they have whatever you need to meet your goals. Check-in is a breeze; the music's well-chosen and adequately beat-driven to keep you moving; they always have a couple of friendly staff members on hand if needed; and there's ample parking right out front in a fairly well-lit parking lot. Absolutely no regrets with our decision to switch our membership over to Fit Republic. read more

Was forced to go to this gym after my favorite all-time gym closed down. With that being the prologue, 4 stars is pretty good. They could use cubby holes in the gym area, and a few more bumper plates in the deadlift area, but those are easy fixes. Overall, it is a good sized gym, clean, and everything is in good repair. Lots of squat racks, benches, and every conceivable machine to help you achieve your fitness goals. The atmosphere is a little colder, but I think I'm going to enjoy going here. read more

My husband has been a member of this gym for quite a while. Because he had been a member for so long his key chain barcode card had worn out and fell off his key chain. My husband asked for a replacement and the staff wanted to charge him for it. He asked since he had been a member for a while if they would comp it. They said they needed to speak to the district manager. When the district manager did come in, he went right up to my husband during a workout and had the audacity to yell at him and ask him to leave the gym and stop intimidating his staff. It was quite appalling. My husband has always had a good relationship with the local staff and they are all quite nice. But this DM's actions were completely out of line. It's really unfortunate that he couldn't try to reach out and build a relationship with a long-time member of his gym. I would not recommend going because you never know when you might be yelled at by the DM if he happens to stop by. read more

Clean and friendly!! Love that they have kid care and boot camp classes!! pretty inexpensive monthly fees!!! overall great place to work out! read more

We switched to this gym after our favorite gym closed down. I'm so happy they opened their child care. That was the deciding factor for joining this gym vs any other gym. They have a lot of cardio machines but the free weight area always seems to be packed. Hoping they add more free weights and benches so people aren't always having to wait for a spot. Other than that, the gym is great. Staff is friendly. I'm happy we joined. read more

Fit Republic Gym at Atascadero the best. Jackie the front desk staff, so nice ,helpful, always greet everyone with a smile and ask everyone to have a nice workout and how their day is going & so forth. I have notice Amazingly, She greets everyone by their name....how she remembers each of them.. So encouraging to go that gym with a nice welcome from this front desk staff Jackie. I would support this gym 100%. Loved it.. read more

The gym is super clean, the equipment is all new and well taken care of. So much equipment, the staff seems very friendly as well. The vibe here is comfortable... people of all shapes, sizes, and fitness levels are welcomed here. Compared to other gyms in the area, this is the type of place you can come as a "beginner" and feel 100% comfortable and confident. read more

By far the best gym in San Luis Obispo county. Lots of room to maneuver and complete your workout routine .

Best gym ever! I really missed when they closed for COVID but they're open again!! I couldn't go anywhere else!

The gym doesn't have enough clamps for even half of the barbells in the gym - I have to steal clamps from other machines when I lift, assuming that other machines even have clamps to steal. The cable machine attachments are also spread across the gym, good luck finding two matching soft grip handles at any given time. read more

These assholes kept charging me more and more as time went on I need a number to there corporate office I want my 7.99 back each month like I was paying when I started. Tried to look up corporate office phone number and it's not listed What a surprise It makes sense since your ripping people off I wouldn't want my number out there either read more

LOVE this gym! Staff are awesome, always attentive and friendly. Cody is a fantastic trainer--challenging, fun, knowledgeable, super supportive, and has been able to modify exercises to accommodate my post-surgery rehab (thank you!). Gym is a casual, comfortable open space with plenty of new equipment (cardio, free weights, machines, circuits, etc.), plus a turf area, HIIT classroom, and open studio for floor exercises (yoga & abs). The variety is great, never get bored or have to wait. Everyone makes you feel welcome, beginners to athletes, all ages, shapes and sizes. Absolutely nothing pretentious about this place. read more

The gym has gotten better since it has re-branded. The staff has gotten much better and now says "hello" & "goodbye" when you enter & exit the facility. A few short months ago this was not the case. The equipment is great, the facility is spacious, and I don't take the classes but I have heard they are great as are the trainers that conduct them. My feedback for the managers of the gym: Keep the political news channels out of the gym and replace them with games or inspirational sports events/movies. The gym is a place to shut the mind off and get away from the pressures of the outside world. It is a real bummer to jump on a machine and see 24 news channels like Fox, CNN, MSNBC, etc. pumping out propaganda. Aside from that keep up the good work! read more

You can see that they don't treat their staff well... I have seen good staff leave and the owner talk down to staff. The gym has decent equipment but that's about it. Gym recently opens up late. The new female manager and staff struggle to get membership info correct (email, billing, customer service, etc.) You will ask for assistance/to speak to someone and it takes weeks to get a straight answer. read more

Really nice looking. However, bad interaction with management. My three day pass was refused today on the third day and I was told my only option was to sign up. I'm in sales and I don't think I've ever gone back on my word, cancelled what was offered prematurely and then told the prospect now you must buy from me. Sorry any business that chooses to break their integrity and then force a sale because "the manager said so" is a joke. read more

Super nice gym, super nice equipment and lots of room. Terrible management and they don't care. My account was froze because of an injury for two months and I came back in and just wanted the most basic plan like 20 bucks or whatever. I was on a plan for both paragon and fit for 100. When he unfroze my account he charged me the full amount by mistake but he couldn't reverse it, people make mistakes I get it. Then the manager came over and pretty much told me deal with it and he couldn't refund me either and he was a total dick head. Needless to say an argument ensued and I will never give fit republic a dime. It's a chain gym and the management doesn't care about their customers. Go to Kennedy. read more

I joined this gym a couple months ago and I was going in the morning I really like going to the gym except for I realized that all of the senior citizens go in the morning and they were always very b***** and voice their concerns that I was a little loud well guess what I'm a salesperson in my job relies on me being on the phone constantly and working with clients instead of accommodating my needs they asked me politely to stop talking so I decided to quit my membership here good luck and staying in business read more

Like this gym. The price is great and plenty of parking. The equipment is only about a year old and I've been going here since they opened. They always have the TVs on, which is a good distraction when on the cardio equipment. They have plenty of different machines to workout on and even some classes. Overall a good gym. Wish they still had free wifi though. read more

No WIFI and very poor customer relations skills! I joined this gym recently, and the first problem I ran into was that, even tho they have two Wi-Fi signals, they refuse to give members the password. This is problematic since my workouts are completed and tracked online. Without Wi-Fi I just burn through my data. I figured must be a misunderstanding since IT IS 2018. So I left my name and number at the front desk requesting a manager get back to me. Several days went by with no return call. I had to call back yesterday and request AGAIN for a manager to call me. Someone finally contacted me today to confirm that Wi-Fi passwords are not given out. I told her that I wanted to cancel my membership then since I need access to WIFI to do my workouts. She was agreeable to that but told me I owe for the upcoming month since a few days had passed into the new billing cycle passed. I explain to her that had someone called me back in a timely manner I would have been able to cancel my membership BEFORE the new billing cycle. She showed no customer service skills and was adamant that I would owe for the upcoming month even though I was not going to be working out there. I'm now at Give Fitness where they understand what customer service is ANd they actually have Wi-Fi. I wish I had come to Give Fitness in the first place. Now, instead, I'll have to dispute the unreasonable charge through Fit Republic. read more

I joined this gym about a month ago, I was offered a 7 day pass by one of my roommates and I was pretty reluctant to commit, I have been away from the gym setting for a couple years and was honestly pretty nervous to come back. I talked with a couple employees (I believe their names are Brodan and Mericar) at the front desk who were very helpful and even helped me get a really good deal on my membership. So far I love it I've tried a few classes in the evening with the younger male coach and learned more than I could've ever expected. I really have appreciated how much time the staff put in to let me know all the details and also for showing me around. I'm always welcomed in with a smile and the staff is very open to conversation whether it's a chat about football or my family it's always nice. After looking at some of the lower one star reviews I'm a little confused and will be posting updates as time passes because to me personall this gym is very clean and beyond helpful. read more

The top gyms in the area. Its spacious, affordable, and everyone is super nice from managment to clientele. Maricar, Jacob and the other trainers are doing a great job with the FIIT Nation group training. With the new changes, new management, and new staff this gym has been getting better and better month to month. I cant wait to see the growth of Fit Republic. read more

Not a fan of this gym! The layout is great but the management is the worst. I had a membership and paid every month. I decided to get my husband one as well. They told me it was cheaper to pay up front for the whole year and that it was refundable. After 3 months my husband said it wasn't working out he couldn't get to the gym. So I went in talked to someone at the front desk. They told me we don't do refunds. I told him that I was told the very opposite. So he went and asked another staff member. Then came back said they would do it. Great signed the paperwork on the computer and waited. 1 week later nothing called and the put the manager on the line. He was soooo rude and wouldn't acknowledge I was told twice I would be getting a refund. "We don't do that ever. Sorry you're not getting your money back." So I quit the gym and they stole from me. The freaking worst. 0 stars read more

Multiple times I have showed up after opening time and they are not open, currently sitting in the parking lot with a handful of others(some have also already left) and no one is here to open the gym. They are scheduled to open at 7am today and at 8:25 no one is here. Pretty unprofessional and a waste of gym dues if it isn't open when it's supposed to be, especially for people with a tight schedule like myself. read more

First time here. Very relaxed and welcoming. None of the overbearing sales pressure I'm used to when I'm checking out a gym. Equipment is all new, well maintained, and very large variety of machines. Fit Republic is a wonderful spacious gym that has so much to offer, but the most rewarding part for me is the experience I've had training with Cody and Maricar. They are kind, patient and yet very effective at motivating me to step out of my comfort zone and push myself harder. I've learned a lot and have gained so much confidence in myself. I have toned up, lost weight and the results are very noticeable. Their dedication to the gym and their clients is evident in the compassion they show to seeing others succeed. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great experience at the gym! read more

Update; I finally took a class with my wife and daughter and we loved it. Coach Maricar is amazing she takes her time and modified any move so that you are able to get a good safe workout. After the second class my daughter was sold, you truly get a complete workout in less than an hour and it's less expensive than a personal trainer. My daughter goes to school so wouldn't be able to take class everyday with Maricar but she said that that evening classes with Coach Jacob and Mary K are similar and that Maricar checked in on her during class to make sure she was ok. She says it's worth going to Maricars class because of how strict she is and how she pushes you to push yourself. Me and my wife were sore for a week after. My wife didn't like being that sore after so she hasn't gone back. Maricar constantly ask for her by name and let me know that they have added ZUMBA to the club and offered to let her try that out when she's ready. This gym and staff continue to get better and better. I hope Maricar is here to stay! read more
