I had been working with personal trainers for a little over a year before joining Fit Code without any noticeable results. Thanks to the tremendous results of two of my friends, Erica and Michelle, I decided to join Fit Code this summer. I am so glad I did! In the beginning, I really struggled with the workouts. Luckily, the trainers at Fit Code give us different variations of each exercise. When I started I was doing level 1 of each exercise and struggling with those. The trainers (Shelton, Toni and Jamie) have been a tremendous help to me modifying some exercises to compensate for a shoulder injury I sustained while working with a personal trainer. They really watch out for me. Now, I am proud to say that I can do most exercises at a level 2 and 3 (unless it involves my shoulder). While I was feeling stronger with the Fit Code workouts, I wasn't losing much weight. My diet was still out of control. So, I decided to try the SKJ Transformation contest. What a difference! By following the eating plan combined with my 3X/week workouts, I was able to get into my jeans after the first week and start wearing them by the second week. I know that my jeans are one size smaller than I was wearing, but I really feel like I lost two sizes. The jeans I had been wearing were getting uncomfortably tight and I was not willing to buy the bigger size. I am now comfortable in my jeans that are one size smaller. I really love the accountability and support of the SKJ Transformation. Jamie has been an awesome coach! She gave us new recipes to try and checked in with us to motivate us and answer any questions. She also shared her struggles with staying compliant. I train at a different location than the rest of my team and we made that work. We stayed in contact by email and phone calls. What a supportive group of women! My biggest motivator with SKJ is my teammate and friend, Erica! Watching her and her success motivate me every day! I love the SKJ Transformation Facebook page. Everyone was very encouraging and supportive. The best part of the SKJ Transformation for me was my kids telling me how proud they are of me! I had never heard of Fit Code until my friend Amy told me about a Skinny Jeans contest. Knowing that depite the fact that I was working out 4-5 times a week, trying to eat well and still not loosing weight, I was at a point of frustration. Because of this, for the 4 weeks prior I had not been using healthy eating habits! I knew it must have been what I was eating and how. So, I signed up....blindly. I had no idea there was a food plan...just a new workout with some coaching. Not going to lie, that first week was BRUTAL. Yes Shelton Matsey, if you remember correctly....I could give up beer, I could give up chocolate and bread but I had the HARDEST time giving up my Oatmeal and Kashi cereal for breakfast. But, because I was part of a team and needed to be compliant, I stuck. Although I enjoyed the bootcamp and the bonus workout week one was difficult! However, I was geared up to kick it up in week two. I found myself being creative with veggies of all colors and trying new dishes, that were compliant. I had always gone to my easy breakfast of Oatmeal and Kashi cereal with a piece of fruit. My first veggie wasn't often til lunch! Sometimes dinner.....now my breakfast often has an array of color...and if it doesn't, my lunch does. I was also not eating enough....there was not an opportunity for me to eat a small meal between breakfast and lunch so I started bringing a protein shake or compliant smoothie....what a difference that made. Unfortunatley, after the wonderful beach workout, the next day I fell and sprained my wrist. While I did get into my skinny jeans with just the food plan, I think the results would have been better if I could have continued with the bootcamp. I love the class....it kicked my butt, and the bonus workouts were AWESOME! The beach was my favorite!! The coaches and other participants are so encouraging/motivating. The think the most important impact the SKJ contest has provided me with is that I really need to watch what I eat....more veggies, more protein. It is ok to indulge occassionally, but in order to "Get Results" I have to work for them. This was a great jumpstart and I plan to continue! The short of it: The workouts are awesome. The people that work there are amazing. The programs WORK. Don't Make Excuses, just try it! The Long of it: I honestly was not really sure what I was getting myself into when i showed up to orientation for 15 in 6 (just heard through a friend about the program, so I didn't really look into the details), but I can honestly say this has seriously been one of the best experiences I've ever encountered; Literally one of the best decisions I've made for my health/body/soul. Not only that, the people that work there (and work out there!) are some of the nicest, most down to earth people I've ever met. I can honestly say they TRULY care about YOU, and your health. They want to make sure that you are doing things the right way, and the best way for you, and this does not exclude the owner, Shelton. He is 100% fully involved in your progress, knows your name, and cares about how things are going. Those are things you won't be able to find anywhere else, and that's what makes Fit Code so amazing, and unique. If you are looking for a place that will help you to make positive, concrete changes in your life; a place that you can learn, and grow from, then Fit Code is the place to go. When I saw the sign going up at 103rd and Western for a boot camp I couldn't get home fast enough to call and find out what it was all about. I couldn't wait to sign up and get going because my 5 days of the week at the gym weren't doing anything for me. I got hooked right away but was sidelined on and off this year dealing with back issues. After much physical therapy I was ready to put my whole heart into it. I was feeling the effects of not being able to work out because all my clothes were getting tight so I decided that the SKJ contest was just what I needed. The nutritional information and support has helped me so much along the way. Although I'm not where I want to be yet, I am well on my way and feel so much better. I still experience back issues but by strengthening my core I have found that the pain is much more manageable. My Fit Code Experience Fit Code is not just a workout facility it is a health and wellness facility. I started on a living social deal with my daughter wanting to try a different kind of workout but found out it is so much more. With the help of FC and the skinny jeans contest I have learned how to workout to my full potential, eat extremely healthy, and feel good about every accomplishment. This program and the trainers are truly motivating every step of the way and this motivation is infectious. I did my first SJ contest in February on my own. This SJ contest my mom, my aunt, my cousin and my Husband are also involved which is so awesome. I love sharing what I have learned with my family, friends, and even co-workers who can be the SABOTAGERS. The "SABOTAGERS" are those that I seem to preach FC to the most. After approximately 11 months of being part of FC I feel stronger in all aspects of my life and for that I am truly grateful. My husband Mike and I joined a few months ago. Mike took it very seriously and went religiously 2 times per week and watched what he ate. He has lost 22 pounds so far and has really toned his body. I just started treating it like a mandatory appointment and have attended 4 sessions in the past 10 days. I also have been more mindful of my eating and lost 2.5 pounds in the past week. This training reminds me very much of a high school sport practice where you are pushed to your limit in a group setting. It is only about 30 minutes of actual circuit training and it goes by quickly because you rapidly change from one exercise to the next. You couldn't get results like this spending 2 hours in the gym. The next 1-2 days you will feel sore and start to notice muscles all over your body. They also set you up online with a variety of tools to keep you motivated, eating healthy and have grocery store tours so you know what types of foods to buy. I joined Fit Code 7 weeks ago and a week into the program I joined there SKJ contest. 7 weeks later and I feel great. Not only have I made new friends (& Family) but I have learned a better way of eating and working out. The coaches at Fit Code are truly unbelievable. I have never had such great one on one interaction with any other gym or weight loss program that I have belong to. You can send an email, text or even a face book message to any coach and you are sure to get a quick response back. I have ask for advice such as food choices ( I can send a text at a grocery store and ask about a certain yogurt or protein bar that I want to try) , or even what work out would best suit me and had a response instantly!! I stumbled upon Fit Code earlier this year when there was a Groupon for 15 bootcamp sessions. I'm active and like to run and do yoga, but I was looking for a different kind of workout so i decided to buy it.. At first I was a little scared by the term bootcamp, but then I went to a class and immediately got hooked. You bust your booty and at times you feel like you want to puke, but after 45 minutes of high intensity workouts, you feel absolutely amazing. It's definitely way better than going to the gym and doing boring cardio and lifting weights by myself. The exercises are different every class and I always feel challenged. Derreck, the trainer at the McCook location, does a great job motivating the class and correcting your form. I've gotten a lot stronger and definitely feel more fit from going 2-3 times a week. I would highly recommend Fit Code to anyone who is looking to get sweaty after a fast, but effective workout. read more

I am a newbie to fit code and loving it. Presently I'm on a journey of working out 3 days a week to tone, build strength and achieve overall great health. Fit code provides a great environment for me to work out at a pace and level I can build upon each time I attend my scheduled sessions. My journey also includes my participation in the skinny jeans contest ("No Excuses" team) where I am focused on the challenge of reaching my Ideal skinny jean size. Since being a participant in the contest I have learned lots of nutritional information and great tips for weight management. Although I come from a large (number of people not size --- LOL) family, I feel like the Fit code campers that I've worked out with and staffs member are a part of my loving family also. Quick and Efficient workouts! I have a 10 month old baby and finding time to squeeze in workouts can sometimes be difficult. Fit Code was my answer. In 45 minutes time I get a high intensity, quick efficient workout. Coupled with eating right, I have noticed results in just a few weeks. Fit Code offers a variety of morning, afternoon and evening classes so there is sure to be a class time to fit into your schedule. Be sure to take advantage of the nutritional advice as well. As I have learned the hard way, eating right is as important if not more important than the time you spend working out. The atmosphere is positive, welcoming and encouraging. Workouts are tailored to your fitness level whether you are a beginner, trying to get back in shape or someone who is looking for more of a challenge. I have had a weight problem most of my life and have tried just about everything in the book. I saw a Groupon one day for Fit Code Bootcamps. I checked out the testimonials and watched the videos on their website and bought the Groupon. I even decided to join the Skinny Jeans competition. Shelton and his staff are so motivational and are a wealth of information. I was a little nervous when I went to the first workout, but even an older extremely overweight and out of shape person like me can make it through the sessions. I never felt embarrassed or stupid. I laughed at myself quite a bit but my trainer Derreck kept me going. Goodbye gym membership, hello Fit Code! After getting no results with a regular gym membership, I decided to give Fit Code a try. After the first two weeks, I was sold! I love the morning workouts and cannot believe the results! Not only do I feel great, but my clothes are fitting much differently, in a very good way! When the Skinny Jeans Competition came around, I had to give it a go. It's amazing what you can achieve in 6 short weeks! I am down one whole size and realistically will make my "down 2 sizes" goal by the end of the competition. I have tried EVERYTHING, from Weight Watchers, to Jenny Craig, to even going to the extreme with the HCG diet, and nothing compares! I was just starting to think that this was the normal way of life. You get older, you gain weight, you slow down and start feeling like crap! But my wife was coming home with all kinds of energy and looking fantastic, may I say, all because of Fit Code. So I gave it a try and entered their Skinny Jeans Contest (because competition usually brings out the best in me). Well I'm down over 20 lbs in only 5 weeks and I have not felt this good in years. The contest is almost over, but my new way of life has just started. I will be staying with Fit Code after the contest for many reasons. I just finished my second 15 in 6 challenge and can still confidently say joining fitcode was the best decision I have ever made. I've learned so much about nutrition and living a healthy lifestyle and have accomplished so much in this time. I am stronger and feel better than I ever have felt before. I have always just felt like a number at any gym I've ever been a part of, here I don't. I can actually feel like the staff cares about helping people become and stay healthy. I saw the Fitcode 15 in 6 challenge on Facebook and decided to give it a try. I was worried I couldn't keep up. The program is very easy to follow, just do what they tell you in regards to the eating plan and you WILL lose weight. The trainers are all wonderful and knowledgeable. Very encouraging, no matter your fitness level. They modify the workouts so everyone can do them. They go around and make sure you have proper form so no injuries. They encourage you to push yourself and give that little extra that sometimes you don't believe you have in you, but they make you believe you can. I would recommend Fitcode to anyone, whether you're already into fitness and work out regularly or have never stepped foot in a gym. I love Fit Code! The staff is great, and along with the members they've created a family type atmosphere. Everyone encourages one another and there's never any judgment. The workouts are challenging and designed to maximize your results, but you're not asked to do more than you can handle. Another reviewer mentioned that the facility is outdated. While the Midway location is definitely no frills, it has everything you need and it serves its purpose. With that in mind, if you prefer something more updated, you can always visit a different location (perhaps Mokena). Overall, Fit Code is a great place for anyone looking to get fit and healthy in a positive environment, while having accountability, challenging yourself, and pushing your limits (when you're ready). read more

I am not, nor will I ever be, a gym rat. Treadmills and elliptical's just make me feel like a hamster in a wheel. Traditional gyms offer no interaction or socializing in any way. FitCode is like nothing I have ever experienced before. It is exactly what I never knew I was looking for. The coaches and the members make you feel like you're part of the team. The workouts are intense, and ever changing, but the family and partnership atmosphere make them a breeze to get through, especially since you're only doing each one in short bursts of time. You don't even realize that the weight is falling off because you're having so much fun and it's over before you know it. At first I didn't know what to expect of 'Boot Camp', but this is unlike any other workout program or gym I have ever been experienced in the past. I initially started working out a Fit Code in February 2012 after purchasing a Groupon, and have been a member ever since. I can easily say it has been the BEST.MONEY.EVER.SPENT. The trainers are dedicated and have such a passion for what they are doing. Their enthusiasm is contagious, and it motivates me to push myself to the next level.
