Check your billing every month! I have been over charged $207 by not checking that they have charged me twice a month for a while. Billing company called me to tell me that I am "behind on my account" in addition to have been overcharged $200+. The personal training and gym membership are priced together but there's no system to integrate the service. Never have had such a bad experience with management at all levels, including corporate. This gym should not be 24hrs if anyone can just come in and out. Bathrooms are disgusting. Yoga mats are disgusting. Padding and handle grips on machines are nearly nonexistent. It is now 2020, and i had to disconnect my membership that I've had since the grand opening in 2016. Machines no longer work, and they just seem to not bother fixing them, even after request. The men's showers are not clean as before, amd that's a no no. But i digress on that subject as its none of my business. I did notice that the price went up and i never noticed it since its been an auto deduct from my account. I'm starting to think Blink Fitness a few blocks down might be a possibility. Its a real shame as I've been very dedicated to this location, but I know that cleanliness in a club is extremely important due to bacteria's roaming every nook and cranny. I also don't like the fact that their new entrance by using your card to get in is irritating. You can try over and over and the doors don't open and the fact that they have an Amazon pick up gets hard to complete if you are stuck trying to get in and no one around to open doors. *TRIPLE CHECK THAT YOUR SUBSCRIPTION IS CANCELED* I came to this gym in 2022 and canceled IN person once I decided to leave this place, signed the cancellation. I never checked if it went through because I signed with my signature and went in person so I didn't think too much of it. Tell me why I check my credit score report 11/2023 and it DROPPED due to the employees at that time didn't cancel the subscription properly when I went to cancel it. So now my credit is damaged and I had to pay a sum amount to for DELINQUENCY?? I tried to dispute it but failed due to not having proof. Insane how lack of training can do so much damage. Learning lesson: Make sure that you have proof via email that your subscription is canceled. read more

They have the same machines since 2019. I went back today after 3 years away. And wow it's a trash can. The Stair stepper handles were literally loose and the stepper was breaking and missing a step it would jam as i tried using it. And all other steppers are the same issue. Tapped together. With as full as the gym is they should reinvest in new machines and barbells. read more

The gym was decent. But I can't cancel to save my life. Predatory. You can't cancel online. You can't cancel on the phone. You have to cancel at your home gym, even if you have all-access. The third-party billing service (ABC financial) also can't help because they just do billing. Last time I tried to cancel: all that happened was that my credit card information was deleted. But my account remained active (despite me thinking it was cancelled) and I ended up having a late payment since I unintentionally ignored ABC Financial's call (I don't answer unknown numbers, like most people). I've tried calling different branches, I've tried going into the gym, I managed to get corporates email today so hopefully emailing them will work. But even when I am told in person and given written confirmation that the account is cancelled, next time I check in it is still active. Insane. I would consider getting a class-action suit started by unfortunately the contract contains an arbitration clause. Good call on their part! read more

So I started my search for a personal trainer and met Dina Pabon. In one months time Dina has transformed my outlook on my potential. During our 1 hour session (3x weekly) she pays attention to form, technique, gives corrections when necessary, modifies when necessary and above all inspires me to be my best and get the most out of our time together. Now I get an email saying that they are sending me to collections for past due amounts... 8 YEARS LATER! When I called and spoke with David (very nice guy by the way), I was told that the new ownership was trying to clear up past due balances. They didn't have my cancellation on file. I paid so I don't go to collections, but will make SURE everyone knows that this company is unethical. BAD BUSINESS DECISION. read more

9/4/19 As of today, I have now moved to BLINK fitness a few doors over on Pulaski. It's new and clean and all machines work. The allow UNLIMITED GUEST visits with you anytime you go for $20. All machines work, I witnessed them cleaning the floors today, and there is wonderful space. Charter needs to upgrade to keep up with this place. They even get their own key tag. CHARTER FITNESS just lost me to this gym. Just bad, dirty, broken, just a bummer now. read more

This Fitness center in mundelein is terrible now I am a member last 2 years. As per my contract for $20 joint membership I can take my partner .one month back without informing us charged 40$ besides membership fee.This sunday when i went with my spouse she was not allowed. The reception guy said there is no joint memberships now. Why we were not informed.Why you are still deducting $20 if it is still membership. I had no option but to cancel membership but still i had topay still September.This is not the same friendly gym as management attitude has changed.there are other gums offering better options read more

There membership are stupid. If you get the 19.95 you are paying to bring one friend a day. Like who has 30 different friends. That is the difference between the 10 dollars a month also with the 19.95 you get one time personal training , one tome class training and online workouts and access to all their locations. This is the worst gym when it comes down to repairing the machines . Ive been a member in many different gyms in Chicago and Miami but this one here takes the cake for being careless about repairing or replacing the machines. I've addressed the problem to management " Steve" and all he could say was he's called it in already it's not up to him. Mean while months go by and the machines are still broken . read more

Wish I could score lower but it's not possible. Don't join this particular gym if you are planing on bringing your kids to workout because they require a state ID even to underage children. Even with a state ID it depends on the lazy no good for anything staff there if they are willing to accept it. I always go with my son who is 17 and he didn't have an ID. You can however take them to the charter on 78th and Pulaski their staff is friendly and helpful and takes them there with their school ID. read more

Well, had to join for certain reason one being I moved around the area. Customer service sucks here no greet when you come in. The trainers seriously I would rather pay and online fitness coach then to with these trainers I've notice when they personal train they tend to be always on the phone not paying attention the clients form and half the time they just winging it. If I can not give it a star I would... The manager Steve is one of the worst people to be a manager, he is very rude. He lacks social skills. The way he talks to his members with no respect. He is just a horrible person all in itself. Tried asking for his regonal manager to talk to him or her and they come with a stupid excuse that they don't give that information out. Why not? That information should be available to all members I pay to be there and paid extra for some classes, it's not like I'm not paying. That guy need to to take management classes, customer service classes and posible just get fired. If he thinks that talking to my mom how he did n how he spoke to me is something good, u got it all wrong. I cannot explain how terrible is the management in this location. There have been countless of times I've seen girls in the front desk who get mistreated and talked down to by Steve the coward manager. The management over works their girls like slaves. As usual, there is a high turn over with the staff which breaks my heart because plenty of the girls gave me excellent customer service and they are now gone. Occasionally I go up to the front desk when steve or the little mexican girl aren't around and I try to encourage the new girls to stand up for themselves because many are afraid to speak up. Also there's a few machines that haven't gotten fixed for months. The only positive about this place is that it's close to apartment and jewel and Cermak are right next door. read more

The best gym I've been to. I came on a trial pass a long time ago but the manager was a dick. I came back because I really need to get in shape and I heard there was a new manager. The new manager definitely knows about customer service! I'm so happy I came back to sign up. He even let me try the team class for free. It was awesome. The best time to go to this gym is early in the morning. The girl at front desk runs the place like fine tuned machine, there is never issue with towels running out, and she is always helpful and friendly. The crew in the evening could learn from her. There are 3 people working, 2 girls n one manager all with their heads buried in their phone, girls not friendly , and no towels. There are so many people in the gym not to have towels to wipe down equipment not very sanitary. This is unacceptable. read more
