Of course, I have driven past this building several times throughout the years. Today was my very first time inside. Plenty of parking. Depending on your arrival time, you can be up front or in back. Very spacious facility; class rooms, gym, senior lounge, indoor track, weight room, exercise rooms, cafe with seating, event spaces, church, competition pool, jacuzzi and an indoor water park. There is truly something for everyone to experience. There is security on the premises both inside and outside. Very good registration process because it was so organized. There were people in place that knew exactly what they were doing. Locker room space was nice and inside each family bathroom was a shower. How clever is that. Once inside the water park area, I remember counting at least four very attentive life guards. Parents did accompany younger children and watched them to the best of their ability. The life guard's eyes were everywhere. The Kroc Center is an absolutely beautiful space. I was happy to swim with my g-baby. I appreciate the fact that even if you are not paying for a membership, you can buy a day pass good for any part of their facility. Will definitely return because my g-baby LOVES the water.

Kroc Center Playground - Damaged Ground is a trip hazard. So sad they aren't keeping this playground together.

I was absolutely shocked to see how damaged the playground was given the fact that the Kroc Center is well funded... It's heartbreaking that they're not keeping this park up to standard, safety standards for young children and it feels like in our communities, brown and black, neighborhoods they're not reinvesting those donations in the facility and it's really sad. My son and I usually go to Orland Park, Oak Park, and Oak Lawn but with gas prices $6/gallon I'm trying to stay closer to the house...Unfortunately that's NOT doable given that I've noticed that no money is being invested in the parks and in our community. SO I GUESS I'LL HAVE TO Continue driving to Orland Park!

My view from the waiting area.

I am writing this review to shine a light on my bittersweet 1st experience visiting The Kroc center. My family and I were invited by A friend to celebrate her son's birthday. 1st impression of the building I WAS AMAZED at how clean and well-kept the building was. Upon entering we were stopped by an EXTREMELY RUDE staff member(Unsure of her name was wearing a yellow tee and black mask and sitting at the front desk at 5:38 pm Saturday, February 18th, 2023) lady gave false pool schedule times, told us the pool was at capacity suggest we leave. Said, " they were no longer allowing anyone in". I asked to speak to the manager who came out and professionally introduced herself and explained that the pool was at capacity currently BUT the session was ending in 20mins and will be allowed to enter with the next group. I asked the host(the lady at the front desk with the yellow shirt) why couldn't she give us that same information without going back and forth, She rudely rolled her eyes, walked away, and began saying unkind remarks about us to the security guard. My sister walked to the rearest chair to sit, she was carrying a child in a car seat and bags. The last straw was when the host (lady in the yellow shirt) told her she couldn't sit in that particular sit until she paid for entry. WE WERE STANDING IN LINE TO PAY‼wow smh. The manager (Iris Mathews) continue to help us and actually went over and beyond to check on not only my party but others in line. Ms. Iris I want to say THANK YOU for your patience and grade A customer service you provided. Because of you our experience was rememberable.

The staff is friendly and very helpful. I recently joined the Kroc Cemter and noticed they were having a 6 week challenge. I decided that would be a great jump start to my fitness goals and I was so right. I had small group training 3 times a week and at the end of the challenge I was down 19.9 pounds. My trainer was Zoe and he did challenge me while working out but he'd also inquire about food, and helping you in your trouble areas. He wants you to be successful. I'm ready for the next challenge! BRING... IT... ON!

However, after my recent experience, I am appalled and disgusted by the way I was treated--and ultimately banned--because of a rude, disrespectful young employee who clearly has no understanding of customer service, let alone basic decency. Let me be very clear: this type of treatment would have never happened under the Vrdolyak ownership. Back then, the gym staff was courteous, professional, and actually valued long-term members like me. They took pride in their business and treated every member with respect, regardless of how long they'd been there. Under the new management, it seems that's a thing of the past. It all started with a young employee who, from the beginning, had a major attitude problem. I've seen bad attitudes before, but this one was particularly appalling--eye rolls, curt responses, and an overall disdain for anyone who dared to ask a question or need assistance. I initially brushed it off, thinking maybe she was having a bad day. But after multiple encounters, it became clear that this was her standard behavior. And on one specific day, after yet another rude exchange, I decided enough was enough. I contacted the gym manager, expecting some level of professionalism and a resolution to the issue. Instead, I was blindsided when, instead of addressing the employee's behavior, I was banned from the gym! After 20 years of loyalty, decades of my hard-earned money going to this place, I was effectively kicked out because the management wanted to protect an employee with a horrible attitude rather than hold her accountable for her actions. This wasn't just a slap in the face to me--it's a complete betrayal of the values that this gym used to stand for. They clearly don't care about their long-term members anymore. They don't care about respect, or loyalty, or anything that made this gym great back in the day. It's all about protecting bad behavior from their new, poorly trained staff. CFX Gym has gone downhill, fast. If you've been considering joining, I'd highly advise against it. If this is how they treat long-time members who've invested years into their business, imagine how they'll treat newcomers. I'm beyond disappointed in what CFX has become. Under the Vrdolyak ownership, this kind of nonsense would have been dealt with swiftly and fairly. Now? It's all about saving face for the management and throwing out members who dare to expect decent treatment. What a shame. Avoid this place at all costs.

Because I love the team aspect of sports, I have never enjoyed exercising on my own. Team has always been my draw to any fitness program I have tried, and I have tried them all. I have belonged to the local gym, bootcamps, and aerobics programs (just to name a few) and none compare to CrossFit Beverly. CFB offers top notch coaching, a$$ kicking Workouts, and an awesome team atmosphere. The owner and head coach, John is awesome. He is encouraging, enthusiastic, energetic, and knows his stuff. John is passionate about CF and it shows. He will teach you proper form and correct you if you are doing a movement wrong so you will not get hurt. He will even do a WOD with you so you won't have to do it alone. He is a family man and encourages you to bring your kid(s) to the WODs (even if you have a babysitter). John brings his daughter who is sure to cheer for you on those tough Saturday morning WODs. I love how each WOD is posted online before the workout. As soon as my alarm rings, I check the WOD. I have never been so eager to hop out of bed for a workout. It is obvious that much thought went into programming because each WOD is always challenging and makes me push past my comfort zone. CFB has all fitness levels and each WOD can be modified. As if great coaching and challenging WODs weren't enough to get me hooked, what really sets CFB apart is the supportative community and team atmosphere. I was intimidated at first, but everyone was so welcoming. I have a special place in my heart for the 6:30am crew and couldn't get through the WODs without them. Everyone encourages and pushes each other to go harder, faster and heavier. The CFB athletes are working towards a better "me" both mentally and physically which creates a great camaraderie. Bottom line, CrossFit works. You will get in the best shape of your life and have a blast doing it. Thank you to John for bringing CrossFit to Beverly!

I can tell the results are going to be seriously addicting. The class is 50 minutes and trust me you are working just about every minute of that. Kelly the instructor is a great motivator! If it wasn't for her energetic attidute and genuine excitment to get our butts moving, I don't think I could have gotten through it on that sleepy Sunday morning. The classes are small whichs allows for a more personal feel. Kelly will take the time and make sure you are doing the moves correctly in order to get the most out of your workout. She is extrtemely knowlegdable in both fitness and nutrition...I'm telling you, this girl knows what she's doing. She also makes sure to learn all the participants names to help encourage you along the way....how cool is that? Not only are you getting a personalized workout but did I mention it's affordable? These classes will not break the bank like some of the other downtown gyms...and also you do not need to sign a contract which allows for a lot of flexibilty within your schedule. I couldn't be happier with the workout that I recieved from Kelly at Barre it All. I am still feeling the affects of it two days later (no joke). I think this gym is a great addition to the area and I can't wait to try some of the other classes offered:)
